Hello all. My name is David, I’m Nanuqs son.
He told me a lot about his friends on the watch forum, so I thought it would be appropriate to post this here
Unfortunately Bob passed away on Monday due to complications from heart failure.
He loved this group, or all of the forums he was a part of, and I’m going to post this on all the watch forums he has on his Tapatalk app
My Dad was an incredible man, and watches and watch collecting was probably his favorite hobby.
I’m currently wearing one that he made for me, probably with help from people here
Bob did not suffer in the end, and his passing was peaceful and surrounded by loved ones.
I just wanted to let his possible friends know that they were appreciated, and I didn’t want people to wonder why he went radio silent
Thank you guys for being his friends. It’s brings me and my family a lot of comfort
I haven’t been in the forum in a while. Reading this made me tear up. Your dad was an asset in many ways to everyone he knew. Always an incredible source of all good human qualities and a great mentor for most of us. Lovely sense of humor as well.
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I am glad his passing was a peaceful one, though he will be missed.

Did the oyang kit come with the dial as well?

Such a beauty

Very nice. Looking for parts as it is to make one. Will have to test it to ensure I can at least skin dive with it.
Keep the information and images coming.

Maybe nostalgia on eBay. If you give the measurements for your current unit. I always wanted to build one of those and dive with it.

The older 3035 ST cases were pretty decent if you can find one.

Try Helenaru? Those gilt dials used to be nice. I’m sure the white ones can’t be that far off.

I’ve been in touch with a guy who makes these cases. Can ask him about a group discount.
That would be awesome.

Such a lovely watch. Always wanted to build a vintage piece using these as a base. Make it dive legit as well. Group buy maybe?
Wear it in great health brother.

If I buy the jf case and I remove the rehaut, I have a 16800 no?
But my question is... The holes will do in the right position? And not more up or left.. Etc...
No, you’ll have a case you can’t use with your current dial and movement.

Yes you can make the same with the jf submariner!
He has in over 10 watches drilled lugs ! I have a watch smith too but he can the wrong chinese lug size make to to real only (but with no lugs in case the other guy makes this for me)!
Yes a TC or JF case with drilled lugs are a 16610 woth lugs, because the rehaut is to big,you can mod this or take the startime case for a 16800!

Starting hasn’t had the 16800/3035 cases in a few years. Very hard to find.

I always try Point out to people the differences between wants and needs and what reality is. I’m the [censored] of the family so that makes it easier. At 17 walking about with a seemingly expensive watch is asking for the kid to get jacked, particularly if it’s just for the bling aspect. A nice G-shock will always do better as well as be more practical. Heck I have a few of them including my first g-shock that is going on 30+ years now and have only had to change the battery twice. The plastic disintegrated a long time ago but I keep it just because. First g-shock I ever had and it was also my watch for first year of military school. Lots of fond memories.
Just saying.

I would suggest a properly serviced 2892 movement with a decent dwo. Will run like a champ and be closer to gen beat and size wise.

Honestly, for a teenager a nice Seiko turtle diver may be the better choice. Even with an oyster bracelet. They’re bullet proof and look great plus can take them anywhere. The crystal can handle a lot of abuse and scratches and look great. Just saying.

Man I miss mine. Looks great.

Nice!!! Thanks for sharing and stay safe

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Maybe even the explorer 1655 hands to boot. Looks more like a 40mm case. Definitely potential.

Good to know. A nice 1016 explorer sterile dial black build would be very practical for a daily wear watch.

Very cool. Duracoat is no joke. Albeit thick. How is the bezel crystal retainer figment with the plexy?

Very nice

@ephry73 I will take your advice and let the TC case be what it is.
I will have the lugs drilled and y serial numbers engraved and leave the rest as is..

Right on. If Neckyzips is still around he does amazing pantograph work.
ST3035 case vs TC V2 case(rehaut engravings buffed out) and a BP 16660 for comparison. The ST3035 is my 16800 rendition. I wear it on a 93250 bracelet for daily wear and have a decent 93150 for those days I want more accuracy and rattle lol.
As you can see there is a difference in the angle and depth of the rehaut. Subtle, but it’s there.

The rehaut depth will drive you nuts once you make all the changes. Trust me. Been there done that. Let the TC case be what it is and do it right, or drill holes and make it a proper 16610 with lug holes. But a 16800 needs the thinner shallow rehaut.
