I haven’t been in the forum in a while. Reading this made me tear up. Your dad was an asset in many ways to everyone he knew. Always an incredible source of all good human qualities and a great mentor for most of us. Lovely sense of humor as well. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I am glad his passing was a peaceful one, though he will be missed. E Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very nice. Looking for parts as it is to make one. Will have to test it to ensure I can at least skin dive with it. Keep the information and images coming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Maybe nostalgia on eBay. If you give the measurements for your current unit. I always wanted to build one of those and dive with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Such a lovely watch. Always wanted to build a vintage piece using these as a base. Make it dive legit as well. Group buy maybe? Wear it in great health brother. E Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No, you’ll have a case you can’t use with your current dial and movement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Starting hasn’t had the 16800/3035 cases in a few years. Very hard to find. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I always try Point out to people the differences between wants and needs and what reality is. I’m the [censored] of the family so that makes it easier. At 17 walking about with a seemingly expensive watch is asking for the kid to get jacked, particularly if it’s just for the bling aspect. A nice G-shock will always do better as well as be more practical. Heck I have a few of them including my first g-shock that is going on 30+ years now and have only had to change the battery twice. The plastic disintegrated a long time ago but I keep it just because. First g-shock I ever had and it was also my watch for first year of military school. Lots of fond memories. Just saying. I would suggest a properly serviced 2892 movement with a decent dwo. Will run like a champ and be closer to gen beat and size wise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Honestly, for a teenager a nice Seiko turtle diver may be the better choice. Even with an oyster bracelet. They’re bullet proof and look great plus can take them anywhere. The crystal can handle a lot of abuse and scratches and look great. Just saying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Maybe even the explorer 1655 hands to boot. Looks more like a 40mm case. Definitely potential. E Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Right on. If Neckyzips is still around he does amazing pantograph work. ST3035 case vs TC V2 case(rehaut engravings buffed out) and a BP 16660 for comparison. The ST3035 is my 16800 rendition. I wear it on a 93250 bracelet for daily wear and have a decent 93150 for those days I want more accuracy and rattle lol. As you can see there is a difference in the angle and depth of the rehaut. Subtle, but it’s there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The rehaut depth will drive you nuts once you make all the changes. Trust me. Been there done that. Let the TC case be what it is and do it right, or drill holes and make it a proper 16610 with lug holes. But a 16800 needs the thinner shallow rehaut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
