  1. Peace Robbie. although I might agree with you that my position could be not very realistic, I won't give up claiming for accuracy and respect from the dealers in this forum (as well from to buyers, sure). I see also your point and I have to admit that even with dealers on which a have a certain level of confidence, I always cut a half my expectations not be dessapointed. But I don't like this way of doing; not at all. And I hope dealers will also understand that to be "trusted" they have to be "trustable". Just one more thing... it is on our side (buyers) to denounce every defective transaction and lose this strange fear we sometimes feel because the dealer may not take our orders again...
  2. Crystal clear... I can't agree... battle started a long time a go. This forum is a clear evidence that we can make some control on "trusted" dealers. If not, we still would be buying Asian ETA's as swiss ones. I don't want to resign to be told the true, no matter the seller is Chinese, Indian or European. Specially when we are not buying Canal Street watches and paying top dollar (comparing to the average in rep world, obviously). Not at all Robbie... "scamming" is also sending other thing than advertised... "scamming" is telling "I will cover custom sizing" and once t happens, forgetting what was said... I might be an utopian person, but if have to pay with legal currency, and in advance, to a number of dealers "protected" by the board (since they are supposed to be allowed to post and verified) I can ask for something more than a Canal Street seller behivor...
  3. Solid gold is solid gold... genuine means genuine... 1:1 means 1:1 ... OR NOT??? If you buy a Sony TV advertised as 200Hz, I expect it performs 200Hz... If I buy a rep (if it would ever exists) Sony TV of 200Hz... I must be happy if it performs 100Hz and not 50Hz... This is the way I have experienced you have to play the "rep game". Of course, the genuine Sony TV costs 1500 USD and the rep 150 USD. Therefore you admit that a dealer "lies" to you advertising a rep Sony TV of 200Hz. Just because "you have to understand that for 150 USD nobody can sell a 200Hz TV". From the very first time I started to be involved (as a buyer) in the rep world, I always claimed for transparency, because transparency is the key word to be able to qualify a dealer as "trusted". My first disappointment was with Paul, because he was not respecting shipping rules and timing as promised in his web. And immediately I heard the famous sentence: "this is an illegal business, so don't ask for customer service as it must be"... my answer has been (and will be) always the same: "if my money must be legal to buy reps, the service and deliverables must be as advertised". After 3 years buying reps and sailing around forums, I haven't seen any improvement on dealer's accuracy regarding items advertising. Always "half the true" or deceptive descriptions. There are only a small amount of dealers (very very small) that are changing a bit the usual behavior. If you find any of them, don't lose him!
  4. If you were the first ridiculed then I was the second... I remember two years a go (more or less) posting that my watchmaker was sure I was buying watches with faux ETA movements... some members in this forum were laughing about me... and now... ETA reps exist earlier than many of us can imagine...
  5. @involt... although I would have used a different wording, I can not agree more...
  6. I'm pretty sure that I could cut dial feet and glue it to the movement with an appropriate mov ring. Also, gen hands can be attached to a gen ETA movement. But if the stem do not align because of the mov thickness, then it can not be done easily. But the PO 42 carries caliber 2500 based in an ETA 2892 heavily modified (23 jewels and co-axial escape). So except these mods increased the thickness of the movement, a 2892 must fit into the PO 42 case... I think I will start the search for the hands. BTW... do you know where could I source a better pearl and/or insert?
  7. I had the hope that ETA2892 was going to ft, as it does in the Omega Seamaster... is t he 2824 or 2836 the ones that might fit? Maybe I can source gen hands... Yes, that's what I've heard lately... but you have to agree that if I have the opportunity of drooping an swiss mov... I'd better do it I have to search for those PO franken posts for the 42... they must be very old
  8. I have the possibility to get an PO 42 with latest Asian 21J high beat (28K) inside... would it be possible to replace Asian mov by an ETA 2892? will hands fit in the swiss mov? I would be a great project!

You must be happy... is 99% spot on... nevertheless, replace datewheel for an ETA one... it is bolder and looks much better. I'm going to sell some ETA 2892/2 movements I have to buy an ETA 7750!!! it will be the last touch
  10. Hey guys... it's not black or white... it depends... if you are asking for a 1000USD/month job and you wear a GMT, it shouts fake, and it would make the interviewer think twice... if you are asking for a managerial level task (director or supervisor) then I see no problem. But realize that if your future boss is the one that makes the interview and he thinks you are in an upper financial level than him, you could get in trouble. By experience.

You have a PM BTW, I've heard that there's something like a V3 with correct lume, date font and double AR... is it correct?
  12. It's funny to see how the "18K solid gold" topic appears on cyclical bases in these forums. And also how may people still believe any dealer is "dealing" with solid 18K or 14K gold all over and inside their items. A couple of years a go a reputable dealer claimed he was using solid gold and finally other reputable members demonstrated it was only brass, plus a low quality gold layer plated with some 14K on top. But it is also insane the way the dealers play with the wording, deceiving not by lying specifically, but not telling the whole true. Of course, some of them a are selling "18K solid gold" parts... but what's the real content? You could say "mid links made of solid 18K gold" or "mid links made of 18K solid gold layer on top of another low grade gold an cooper..." But as you could understand, this is not a very marketing approach. It is healthy that time to time, some one bring this topic again so newbies learn that they have not to read literally what's dealers advertise. And yes, they LIE and may times on purpose, by not telling the whole true and not sending clear information. Read selling posts and you will realize it easily. Ask for obvious things (clearly stated in their item descriptions) and you will realize that not everything is as stated "without any doubt". This is why these forums are so important and helpful. And I'm proud RWG did not remove this thread as other did. George is not an scammer. He's playing the game all other dealers do. If he were 100% clear, then he would be in a disadvantage position.
  13. Unfortunately no answer or chime in of any dealer... seems nobody is interested in. Just for curiosity... is this so funny for you? if so, we can make a post like this every week... PS: thanks for the bump
  14. The difficulty to answer your question about noise is that we can't hear your movement and everything is very relative... my MBW 16610 has a true ETA 2836-2, serviced, and if I shake it while in my wrist or having the bracelet installed, it sounds like hell. If I take out the bracelet, then the sound is only due to the rotor, but believe me, it is noisy specially if I put the case next to my ear. But in the normal use of the watch (in my wrist while I'm out home) I don't hear anything... Maybe you can record the noise and attach a wave file to check
  15. 278 USD + shipping for a watch with an ETA asian copy? and a 2824 copy, not even a 7750 copy
  16. Could it be a base to improve it? I have an ETA 2892/2 and wander if could fit inside with a proper spacer. 1-iOffer's PO 2-iOffer's 2nd choice
  17. I want a bit more... what about a correct pearl? Correct pearl Correct logo Better dial resolution Lume AR? (I think the gen doesn't have it) Probably more than 175 USD, but seller just need to add multiple choices regarding movements. Think big
  18. 32 in (more or less) by now... another bump!
  19. Challenging? 100 watches x about 250 USD shipped = 25.000 USD ... not bad at all... and PO 42 back in the market again...
  20. We are now 20 in the group... bump for a great project... I wander why no dealer has showed up...
