  1. Thank you! Yes, do check out the IWC 3714 series. Very versatile depending on what strap you choose - from casual on say a leather nato to very dressy on a gen croc.
  2. Hmm, that's odd Mike - if anyone should see them it's you mate! Do refresh etc, have an imageshack premium account that I can check otherwise. Must warn however that photos are dark so still a bit hard to see - that's how it is in Sweden for another three months. Stockholm has had a total of 4 hours sun in November...
  3. Just realized earlier today that I had passed 1000 posts, so thought I'd take the opportunity to celebrate that retroactively and also to say thanks to you all for having me here! My story about getting here resembles that of many others I think... Back in 2011 I scanned the web for a good deal on a (gen) IWC Portu. This in turn led me onto sites like "swisswatches", "pureswiss" etc. Here I started reading up on A vs A++ replicas, as well as learning about how replica watches made in Switzerland were in comparison to the Japanese. Luckily, before doing anything stupid, I also found this place! This great place, which I now have considered my rep home since 2011 - although I frequent most forums to varying degree. The pre-v Panerai interest led me onwards to WC, following interest in yet 60 years older Pams led to my second home HF - and in parallell I just loved reading about all the fantastic vintage Rolex builds here on RWG and started hoarding parts. As threads are worthless without pics, I chose to bring out my collection and take some pictures to share today. Thank you everyone for all the knowledge and good spirit that you share here - and thanks for having me here for 1244 days so far! The 6541 Milgauss: The 1675 GMT: The non-oyster 6263 PN: The pre-comex 5514: The non-cyclops 1680: The gilt 1016: And yes - I did get that Portu also btw, after various rounds with Texski, Hugo and Concepta...
  4. Just realized I kind of share your situation (at least almost). Congrats to your 1000th and let's have many many more years here together
  5. I'd recommend you trying out the $35 Riyi bracelet. No 1:1 ambitions, but well made from what I've heard. Pics and contact info eg here: http://www.homageforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=29161&start=20
  6. 7836 from 1967 to mid seventies, before that 7206 on the gilt dials. At least this is the general rule. But as these guys above note, you see most combinations around, so choose what you like!
  7. Try another max winding and see if it stabilizes after shipment. Otherwise, could be an option to consider a service.
  8. Well, you should at least be happy that you got your stuff back from Texski. Many members never did...
  9. Matt, could you clarify what you mean with explorer? Most reference lists I see note this: TROPIC 21: 1018, 5504, 5503-5505, 6230-6238, 6239, 6240, 6241, 6262, 6263, 6264, 6265, 6269, 6298, 6424, 6425 TROPIC 22: 1016, 5518, 6150, 6350, 6352, 6353, 6610
  10. The 6538 from Helenarou is imo quite nice out of the box, if you're after BC sub. Cartel 5513 - a couple of members have made great budget builds with that. Then re GMTs, the cartel 1675 is underrated and I'm right now doing a build with the Puretime 6542. Be aware though that I'm still unsure if ingod44 is in business!
  11. I've never heard anything else than that 1016's were fitted with domed tropic 22 crystals all the way up until the late 80s when the flatter service T22 took over. I thought tropic 21's were for Daytonas...
  12. That about the nicest thing I've ever seen. What case you have there?
  13. Love what you've done to the case, great work!
  14. Sign me up! Have been thinking about doing a 1019 for a long time, this would simplify a lot.
  15. Anyone with experience of the Tiger v3 cases they're selling now? Worse than v2?
