  1. Could I also ask OP for movement specs of the watches please? Thanks!
  2. Very nice Daytonas you have aquired there sir! The dials are surely made on genuine Rolex dial plates fitting the v72 (those plates were dirt cheap some time ago), but I'd give it low chance that they are refinished 626x dials and about 0.0% shot of originally being PN versions. But hey, if you have provenance / facts, do tell please! Well, as long as you didn't pay crazy premium for the dials being "gen PN" nothing wrong here. As said, fantastic watches and am very impressed you managed to get all those costly beauties at once, sounds like a dream!
  3. Great year for the 5513, looks superb on you
  4. So this is how a daily beater looks? Great clean watch with ghost bezel and leather giving it a more causual feeling. As many other have said, very much hope to see you around here a long time ahead, you're a true asset to the community!
  5. It's a shame fat pre-v CGs are so hard to come by, even worse now that DSN allegedly has new (worse) stock. But as said, you already have a great watch there.
  6. Love it when passionate members here take artistic freedom, while still respecting history, and creating fantastic builds. This is one of the best I've seen in that category - hope this will be with you for a long time!!
  7. That looks about a 1000 times better than before, the gilt rail exclamation is a true classic. Keep us posted if you do more updates to this watch!
  8. Cool! Really glad you're here posting.
  9. For the movement holder I would ask Neckyzips for help, if you're not into trying yourself. If so, measurements should be readily available. For hands, Neckyzips has also made a batch of great hands that can be thermally blued. Other best option is buying from binbin. Re the dial, you might either try yellowing the plexi with a tumeric bath - but first maybe settle with really polishing it and applying colored lume under it? Wish you best of luck! Feel extreme envy of you having that Oyang case - the grail of grails!
  10. Looks good. Really like that first shot!
  11. Thanks mate! Agree, Panerai put out great straps back in the 90s. As you might know, the PAV strap series were OEM replacements for the pre-v straps. They were a bit longer, went through the Kodiak water proofing process and were made in Italy (this was before strap production was outsourced to Hirsch). I found mine through I guy I've been dealing with earlier, but best source is to scan Paneristi market. Prices can however be quite high...
  12. Thanks to rolli and grimlocktime, I finally have a 5218-202/a again. Wanted to share with you some pictures and details for inspiration. In many ways, this is in my opinion the perfect Panerai to wear: Not bright shiny new and without soul as the new models from the brand - but not 47mm+ and as military feeling as the 50s models Clean base dial, but balanced with the 4-liner approach PVD perhaps makes it a bit more exciting and tactical feeling, especially with the coating on this one Parts list: dial and hands from rolli w0lf case, fantastic pvd coating from the latest run managed by Grimlocktime lh cg, modded by zigmeister jakob caseback bm c3 crystal eta 6497, h3 cp and h2 hour wheel panerai pav90 strap Pictures (pardon dust): Photo borrowed from Grimlocktime to illustrate the different shades of the pvd depending on light: Thanks for looking - now go build and share!
  13. It started out as the stock 3717 that's available from all the TDs here. Unfortunately it now has gen dial, hands, day/date wheels and crown installed - the crystal has also had double AR treatment. Keep your eyes out though, these frankens pop out in the sales corner every now and then.
  14. Happy birthday dbane! IWC 3717 this Saturday
  15. What fantastic pieces out today! Still 1016 for me
  16. Hate these catalogs. It's pure agony browsing all the fantastic watches of this Rolex era - and then realize you could have picked out a 6542 gmt, a gilt explorer, a 6541 milgauss and an epic sub for maybe like £250??! Depressing.
  17. Wow, a decent 1675 case option! A dream come true if it can end up decently priced and without the qc issues hh experienced.
  18. Great work parts collecting - will be very interesting to see everything together!!
