  1. Great read! many thanks for sharing this interesting posts and putting up some great photos. i'm in love with the Stølås, what a sexy watch! Thanks for introducing another great (from the looks of it) small watch company. That Franken (can I call it that?) Seiko Sea-rambler is also quite classy. Let me know if you ever decide to part with it. :-)
  2. Great shots of a great watch. I'm a s*cker for LWs. In the 1st shot, I thought the hands were gold-coloured. Could be a nice 'touch' enjoy it and take good care of it. price increase ey? Better start checking what's out there, to get mine before it.
  3. Go' dag, go' dag og velkommen til. That was a rather quick delivery, yes. Believe that (unfortunately) Swedish mail/customs are more 'flexible' than the Danish one.... Enjoy the daily beater and keep us posted on the next purchases
  4. My order got stock at customs-department of the postal service. T&T latest entry reads 'withheld due to missing invoice'. TD tells me this is a very unusual situation and sent me an invoice, advicing me to hand it over to customs, to get package released. Didn't expect this action/advice from TD (had expected confirmation of new shipment instead), because in my mind: showing up at customs in person + an invoice for a withheld package from China + obviously a rep in the package = trouble... Am ready to tell TD this is not going to work? Right? I'm foreseeing a slow back&forth discussion on refund/supplying different watch/endless saga, as I'm expecting TD to reply "well, you didn't follow our advice to go to customs, so you're not getting a refund". Am totally ready to treat this as 'name of the game' (it's just a $98 specimen ), but was just interested in getting some thoughts from others. Cheers, Jos
  5. My dad will tell you how easy it is. My son will ask 'what is offline' Will look into that one, sounds quite interesting. And thanks guys, for sharing which novels you're reading. Picked up a Jeffrey Archer today for my flight tomorrow. But was really wondering which watch magazines everybody is reading? Perhaps a too straightforward question, if you think there's only one good mag. Have found Watch Time, QP and 00/24 so far. I know of some German ones, they're on sale here in Denmark too, but I don't read German that well
  6. In my short noob life I have been clicking and reading left, right & centre, on the World Wide Web. However, I do appreciate coffee table material and something in print, to enjoy at those rare moments where I choose the sun on the balcony over my laptop and my forums. Been buying a few watch mags here in DK. One Danish one, and this 00/24, that appears to be published in various countries/languages (mainly Scandinavia, I believe). But there must be better material around. For my car fetish, I'm subscribed to Octane and EVO, for example. So....which watch magazines do you guys read?
  7. Nice! Yes, it's known to help speed up the delivery, by checking more often ;-) I so can relate to the 'agony'.... Good luck with staying patient @shenns: it's totally random, how packages travel. Have been sending to/receiving from my homecountry for years and there isn't really a pattern. Sure, mostly it is quick, but stuff sent later and arriving earlier, that's quite normal. At least for me, here in DK/EU, but can't imagine the mail system being so much different in US or any place for that matter.
  8. I've jumped from that one, into the "arrived at customs" frustration . Let's see..... Yes, Daytona01, what beauty are you waiting for?
  9. Evening all, Time for this Dutch noob to come out of hyber- (lurking)nation and start participating. Although, I'm only at Toadtorrent's stage 1/2: Learning to talk, starting to crawl. Have a few reps in the mail now, from various TDs, but also very much browsing the forum, searching and reading everything and nothing. The Paneria catalogues have occupied my evenings this last week. So for now, I'll stick to the introduction. Have been a car enthousiast for ages now, but only recently did I dive into the world of watches. An obvious link, many would agree; I'm just amazed about how long it actually took, now that I am discovering the beauty of it. Given the size of my wallet, rep's are most definately the way forward, although some vintage gen definately are on my wishlist. I've experienced it somewhat with a few (specialized) car forums, but the (rep) watch scene on this forum is truly amazing. This world of watches keeps on unraveling itself and there are so many cool things I'm discovering. Just like with cars (enthousiast doesn't really cut it; obsession comes closer). The lines, shapes, colour (combo's), straps, technique. There's an endless row of combinations and I'm just getting started with learning (new) brands & models. The human factor of it, the community feel here on the forum (for the little part I've so far seen of it), is the other inspiring part, that keeps on pulling me to the forum every day. Like my taste in cars, I already have a diverse list of watches/brands that I like. although like with cars, I have a soft spot for the 'odd one out', the special ones, and less of a liking for 'regular' stuff. Dare I say it, but Subs don't do anything for me (and it's just one tiny part of them, that 'ruin' it for me). Living in Denmark, I've come to like Danish Design. Linde-Werdelin watches are in a way exactly that in the watch-world, and of course the fact that they only started recently and are the odd one out, makes that I'm drawn to them. I'm glad to have arrived here, I'm planning on staying for a while, I hope to be asking some (not-too-much) Noob questions soon and probably before you know it, I'll be selling highly modded reps to make space for a gen. Thanks, josjevee Ps. Almost forgot. What's on my wrist now? A Skagen '521LBLB1'. Skagen is a (young) Danish brand. Had it for two years. This model is actually a good example of my taste: black (particularly with both case and dial), 'not-round', simplicity. However, seeing more and more watches, I think I'm acquiring new tastes :-)
