  1. I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I said use the lollipop seconds hand, then use the HR minutes hand. Now we just need an hour hand. Other members in other threads on other forums (including this one) have had beautiful builds using combinations of hands from different sources.
  2. If they had a long hour hand for the 6200 they would be perfect. So far the HR minute hand and the big bubble seconds hand from OnlinestoreHK are ideal.
  3. Hey guys, could this solve the problem with the Puretime 1680 date window? The silver dwo in my Puretime red 1680 is left justified for all of the 20 and 30 numbers. Could this dwo solve that problem or is it the window on the dial itself that is wrong?
  4. Wowee wow wow! That is incredible. Those pics are beautiful. I'm so envious. I really hope to be able to build something like this one day.
  5. Cc can you take more of the watch? I'm still dying to see the whole thing in its glory. That dial is so incredible...
  6. Looks really nice. How did you do the aging?
  7. Yeah. There were a bunch of interesting posts in the MH17 thread and they are all gone now.
  8. It's awful. Now they believe it was a mistake. The latest news has audio recordings of a Russian Major communicating with a Ukrainian officer and on the recording they are both like WTF just happened? Was it a passenger plane? Were there lots of people onboard? F*ck!!! A US Air Force Lt. Col was interviewed on CNN and he said the level of sophistication required to take down a jet cruising at 33,000 feet means it could only have been a professional military crew that did it and it requires something like 4 vehicles to do it, all loaded with radar and tracking/spotting capability. That limits it to just the Russians or the Ukrainians, and this latest release of the audio confirms it. Big time screw up and wars are started over lesser things...
  9. Ask him to swap out the clasp with a better one. Angus does that stuff and Andrew should be able to do it, too. If that was the only issue with the watch, then it is a very simple thing to resolve. If that still doesn't solve the issue and it isn't up to your expectations when you receive it, then just take the clasp off your other watch and put it on the new one. Problem solved and happy ending for all.
  10. Are you sporting a 93150 on your 1680? That's a great looking piece. I think you have the perfect vintage watch box with the double red SD, the 1675, the small and big crown twins, and the 1680. That is exactly what I would want.
  11. Looks pretty cool. I highly doubt this guy from Rolex Passion Report would be so easily duped. That site showcases the most unbelievable vintage pieces.
  12. I wonder if he can use any other method if ordering just one set of hands. That's half the price of the hand set! Incidentally, I just saw your sig. Panama is one of my favorite Van Halen songs. Such a classic...
  13. Which, of course, is flawed logic for many possible reasons. The author of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo only wrote 3 books before he suddenly died. This dial maker easily could have just begun doing work before he met his demise, or just got tired of it, or ran out of money, or something happened in his life forcing him to quit. Sh#t happens all the time to people. Mayer is probably right, but his theory could be picked apart and there is no way to prove either way.
  14. Very nice! What rivet bracelet is that one? Is the kit just the case and bezel or does it include any other parts with it?
  15. Wow! That is a fantastic shot! Beautiful piece.
  16. I would love to see some pics of a completed build using the JMB kit. What does he supply and what other parts are required?
  17. This takes me back to a discussion that was going on over on HF and here a month or so ago. A member was trying to get Michael Young to produce the long hour hand for a 6200 but in the DG2813 size. There were going to be minimums and new tooling was required, but nobody ever answered the question if he had the 6200 hands already in the ETA size. He has them for the gen Rollie movements. With that in mind, do we just ask him for the correct hands for the watch we want, and then specify the movement we are using? So in the OP's case, he would say he wants 1680 hands for a 1570 movement and I would say I want 6200 hands for an ETA 28xx movement?
