  1. Although not a 'divers' watch, the BCE would be in theory a good one to test - the gen is rated 300m, which is still more than the heritage, and it does have screw down pushers.
  2. Although we have 12,000 members, and only 4% supporters, how many of those members are active? It seems like we have around 1,000 members here each day - so I guess my query would be do we have 8,000 members that were one time only, who has the best sub members, got their watch, and left? And so we would have only a couple of thousand semi-regulars? I now from my perspective, although I am a supporter here, that is because this was the first board I found, and as such have made it my home as far as where to spend my forum time - that I am logged in pretty much every day it was only natural to become a supporter. But I have not donated on the other boards, mainly due to having this one as my base; I will have a look every now and then at the others, but more just to check to see if there has been anything happen that has not been covered here - such as the whole TWP fiasco - there was a lot over at the geeks, but nothing here really. I may have visited RWI 3 times in the last month. In any case, there may be reasons like that for a lot of people to not support the site, they are just occassional users or hardly ever visit. Of course it is frustrating to see on the list of members who have visited on any given day only a quarter of the names are in yellow.
  3. If you could get hold of a gen, I am sure there are lots of us here who would like the source too!
  4. I believe what Ken is saying here is there is a hidden code in each sales thread, unique to that sale, which will know the precise moment somebody will buy the article, so it is like a self-destruct system on a timer. As soon as the time it knows the sale was predetermined to happen, it releases the 'delete this thread' line of code, and viola! Gone. Stealth. Another reason to stay here at RWG
  5. With such a thorough review and great write-up, we should have all pitched in to buy you the watches you didn't have to fully complete the test! Well done.
  6. And what is he looking at getting?
  7. So was it anybody here??
  8. Not sure if I should post this here or in the humor section, but it is a good marketing tool! http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/buy-a-car...?s_cid=rss_news
  9. I will occassionally take a look over at the other rep boards, but more so just to see if there is anything else going on that hasn't been mentioned here. Have a check over at the Breitling forum a bit, as I would like a gen at some stage.
  10. Although the loo is different between the rep and gen, I think they recently changed to the raised logo, so older style would be engraved on the gen like the rep is.
  11. One of the 2 reasons I am not looking to buy a gen of Panerai myself - nice watches, love them, but for such a cheap watch to make really, they are too expensive for me for a base model. That and the lack of a date function.
  12. Keep the Skyland. The evo looks good with the roman numerals!
  13. Is the Asian movement going to have the same problem of stripping the crown causing the movement problem as the ETA? If so, it may end up being a better movement to use. I know that issue is a major reason I have not taken the plunge on this watch.
  14. With such an impressive list of gens from Jay turning up, it would almost be worth jumping on a plane and joining in. But even if I did right now, still wouldn't make it in time
  15. Nice. What was the new Bentley GMT like?
  16. I seem to recall others mentioning the insert is compatible, but not the bezel; the rub is to get the insert you have to buy the bezel as they are not sold seperately.
  17. Obviously, you must get them both
  18. With this crazy watch, I wonder how a crazy pam would go? Maybe a sandwich dial, with roman numerals, using the movement from the crazy hours? Now there would be an interesting project! I have too many project ideas and not enough time, money, patience, or skill to enact any of them at the moment.
  19. Awesome review! You are really setting the bar for reviews at the moment, the great ones just keep coming from you! Keep up the great work.
  20. What is this obsession people have with having to know what the time is? I just don't see the point in having something strapped to your wrist in such a conformist way. Hence, you should get rid of all of them and be free! I would be willing to make the sacrifice of relieving you of them all, and free of charge to you! Nice collection BTW, really like those 'vintaged' pams.
  21. Anyway, back to the watch Is there a running seconds hand on the Senna version at all?
  22. You mean a rep of the pee thing, or a rep of 'it'?
  23. Great review! Having seen the gen in the flesh, I must say I was underwhelmed. It may have been the lighting at the AD, but they actually pointed out to me the display sides - otherwise I would not have even noticed them. Found it very hard to really see anything.
  24. Don't even want to know how you know about these. Or maybe I do...?
  25. That damned The Zigmeister, keeping his prices so low he is always booked out!
