  1. Actually i feel the SA is very well weighted - I have been wearing my seawolf to the gym and it feels a bit top heavy - wore the SA the other day and because it is bigger witt the same height as the wolf, it felt the right balance, even during the workout.
  2. Go white. My next suggestion would be black.
  3. Dizzy: real reason is probably to save money; if it were to cost them only $3 per crystal, at 1 million watches per year... they sell them all anyway so it isn't as if people aren't buying because of a lack of AR, and those that don't because of it there are always another 5 people who will buy that watch anyway.
  4. Got the white battons. Got one side of the bracelet on fine, the other side one side of the springbar was going in and the other side just wouldn't. Took a good half hour trying to get it in, I think it may be similar to the problem others have had. Just managed to get lucky in the end with it. Think the bracelet probably needs sanding slightly to actually get it flush enough to fit right, but as I said with perseverence (and a lot of swearing) it popped in.
  5. I posted a WTB over on RG and had one sorted out within about an hour if that helps any. Watch arrived Wednesday and the bracelet got here today. White battons. Looks good. I asked the same question of Andrew and he said couldn't get the bracelet seperately.
  6. Doc, you have to stop putting pictures of this all over the place. I am all set to pick up the white dial battons, and I keep seeing this one and the black is starting to grow on me! Maybe I go into an AD over the weekend to take a peek at both first...
  7. The 'newer' one has been around for a while now I think, and quite a bit cheaper.
  8. Firsty it is a breach of his job description, along with fraud. Who knows how often he has done this in the past, the only reason he is showing any 'remorse' here is that he got caught. Were he in a cashier job at a supermarket he would be pocketing every 5th transaction rather than putting the money in the till. Fry him!

    DVD's

Yes, it is what I am after, ideally I would like to find somewhere that is doing a large number of shows rather than just offering a few. Have given this guy on ioffer a go for now anyway.
  10. Shame the yellow dial din't do it for you, I have not worn any other watch since I got mine early December. Picked up a sterile ocean racer strap a few weeks ago, sits well on the rubber.

    DVD's

I am looking for some unpublished DVD's - TV shows generally that are too old for the powers that be to be bothered producing. Have done a search and one place that came up near the top of the search was http://www.tvaddicts.tv they stock stuff I am after - shows such as unhappily ever after (a sitcom that had a lot of the same producers, writers etc from Married with children) Hermans head, The practice, basically a lot of shows that have not been released. A couple of years ago I picked up the complete box set of James Bond, for about a quarter of the price of what it should have been selling for, and upon arrival I saw why - they were not original discs, and having come out of Hong Kong or China or wherever they were from, obvious that they were knock offs. Most of the discs worked ok though. I will assume these are all bootlegs too, but it is better to actually have them than still be waiting another 5 years in the hope to see these shows again. But in a nutshell, anyone know if they are a legit company or a scam site that will take the money and run like so many replica watch scam sites around? Or anyone have a legit site I will be able to get these sorts of shows from?
  12. Black Panther? The actual panther, or the gang members? More rediculous down in these parts is you can get thrown in jail for shooting possums. Doesn't matter that they are pests, they have more rights than the population at large since they are native here.
  13. Thanks for the clarification Mickey.
  14. Well, with it being summer in this part of the world, business is picking up enough for me to be able to finally splash out on a new watch. Have been eying up the Breitling Seawolf in the yellow dial for months now. Last weekend I had a look at Tony's website - asian7750.com - and he actually had them listed. And at a much better price than the twins. As mentioned in a previous thread, picked it up for $358 plus $20 shipping. As to whether it is the original version or the 'updated' with the stock eta datewheel, I am not sure - but the date is different to my V1 BCE, so I am going to say it is the good version. The pics should help others decide for me which version I have, since I don't have a caseback opener so can't have a look at the movement to determine. However, it is listed as the original type on the website. This won't be a huge review, like some guys do, but will give a fair idea of my impressions after 2 hours on the wrist. Firstly, it is the same diameter as a BCE, but the thickness is a lot more. Very chunky on the wrist. Feels heavier than a UPO, but more comfortable, thanks to the great bracelets Breitling put out. Helium valve, as others have mentioned, is not even in the case, but that is a minor issue. Also, the lume dots could be better, but it is as good as all the others I have seen. The micro regulator on the bracelet, although a [censored] to pop back in, is great for slight adjustment to get the bracelet just right. The brushed and polished work well on this watch, the sides of the case and the caseback are polished, but the rest of the case and bracelet are brushed; I am a fan of polished all over as a general rule, but this looks the part. Very rugged for a dive watch. A couple of other good points - the B logo on the crown lines up parallel to the case when fully locked, maybe I got lucky with the threading on my one, but maybe it is something the factory has actually made an effort to get the small things right. There is no distortion in the crystal, even when viewed at sharp angles, and quite a deep rehaut. Lume is excellent, almost on par with my DSN 113 (which was superlumed at the factory). Not sure how long it lasts, but it is very bright straight off, and very even on the whole watch, including the pearl. The photos don't seem to show it, but the pearl isn't centered perfectly, again, not a biggie. The stencil numbers work well on this one I think, unlike others - the super avenger comes to mind. Probably becuase of the brushed finishes, gives it a more rugged feel. The movement is also fantastic. I almost can't tell there is a rotor, and manually winding it a few turns to check it out, it was almost like there was no resistance at all. Much smoother than anything else I have, including swiss 6497's. No wobble in the crown when pulled out, and the date flicks over about a minute before midnight. All in all, I am impressed. Hopefully I will stay impressed with it - after all, it is only a few hours old, have not even had a chance to see how accurate the movement is, or power reserve, etc. But, rating on the bigguns magazine scale, I give it two 'things' up. Oh, and from the time I initially emailed Tony to make sure they were available to it being on my wrist in Australia, was about 5 hours short of 9 days.
  15. Me too. Came over under the lure of that Aussie song 'tie me kangaroo down sport', heard it was an Aussie love song. Live and learn I guess. Never ordered any reps while I was in NZ, so don't have any knowledge on customs - other than the invicta I am still waiting to arrive 6 years later... I mean, I never ordered one of them...
  16. Looks pretty cool, but even better would be to do a crazy color hours with different lume colors. Blue, orange, green... you get the idea. Now that would be crazy.
  17. Spend quite a bit of time out in the garden here, roses, roses, more roses and then the vegetable patch. My grandfather had over 100 roses at one stage when I was a kid, and tried his hand at propogating his own, although I don't think any turned out all that successful. Think I have inherited some of that gardening bug from him. Spring is here and the roses are all flowering. The chillis are also starting to take off, and somehow have around 20 watermelon seeds germinated, not too sure where they are all going to end up growing to, especially with the suburban size of the back yard... tomatoes everywhere... need a bigger place really, want to try my hand at bananas and other things too.
  18. Did you happen to come across prices on A7750's in bulk? I seem to recall a thread a few months ago where someone had a contact who was able to order them real cheap, through a catalogue he got at a bike shop or something, and don't recall that anything ever eventuated with finding out whether they were legit or not (the movements, not the member).
  19. The way I see it, it should be better than a physical address, as if nobody is home when the courier arrives, they will leave a note for it to be picked up at the post office anyway - if a package is too big to fit into the box, you will get a note in the box to say go in and pick it up. Honestly, as a recipient I would trust something to get to me better if sent to the PO box rather than home address. Aside from having no physical place for the recipient in these cases if something does go wrong, I don't see the issue people have sending to PO boxes.
  20. Robbie, It's no good to hear the news, have missed you around these parts. Hope things start to look up soon for you.
  21. Agree with the general concensus that rep pens suck. Got a couple, and had not only the issues with the nib mentioned, but the treads were just not up to par either, they lasted all of about a week each. For fountain pens I have ended up getting a picasso which is very nice for the price, Chinese brand, paid $45 for it which came with a display box too. Although not as good a quality as the $200+ pens, is very nice for what it actually costs.
  22. That is interesting to hear, after all the talk of China becoming the next 'big' power. If this is the case, it sounds like the middle aged who have managed to do well are the ones that this type of thing would die with, and a complete implosion of the potential super power.
