  1. Not having read the whole article, was it only 8 embryos implanted? If so, I thought that was standard practice because of the low rate of them actually attaching and so if 8 are implanted, there is only a 20% chance or something low like that that any will actually take? Having said all this, if she is single, living at home, with 6 kids already, there is no way this should ever have taken place in the first place.
  2. What happens when there are 2 people using the same sniping tool on the same auction though??? Does the internet collapse into itself?
  3. I am with you on liking the look - although Phoband (I think) took a picture of the gen a few months back and it just didn't do it for me once I saw that. As to the reps, Andrew has it listed on his site, think the other dealers do too, but it isn't the best rep out there. This http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...roducts_id=2964 would be the best of them, but for a start the seconds hand should be red. Hope this helps.
  4. How long did you take to find an avitar to go with this interpretation?
  5. Clockermaker.com.au won't work on reps as far as I know, he only deals in gens, and does bits in his emails on reps occassionally. (About the evils of them, but hey, I'm here because I want to go to hell when I die )
  6. Rather wild girls. (At least that's what I hoped when I joined!)
  7. Marrickvilleboy may be able to help if you look him up, no endorsment, have never used him, but I think he is local (Sydney - occassionally).
  8. And RWG provides scientific evidence of the dangers of marriage! Very nice to hear of the great members we have here.
  9. Can you adopt me, please? I could go for a good breakfast sometimes
  10. The watch wasn't sitting securely enough and slipped, falling onto the ground. Not carpeted. Now do I risk opening it up myself, or take it somewhere for them to fix... Easy enough in theory to fix I presume, but not being technically minded, I may break the whole watch trying to fix it myself.
  11. A few months ago I got a custom watch made from Flav over at the geeks. It is what is shown in my avitar, swiss 6497, with black lume. A very nice case, great chunky crown, nice tight crown guard. One small problem I have noticed is there is a small blemish on the minute hand crossing into the lume, but otherwise I like it. Not that impressed with the black lume, it doesn't glow that well, but that sounds like par for the course with it. Anyway, here is a picture of it: Decided to take a couple of lume shots (finally) of both this one and my DSN 113 side by side. Took a bit of time figuring the camera out, but here is a 1 second exposure of both side by side after 30 seconds holding them up to a lightbulb. It came out looking quite good I think, but given the fantastic superlume job on the DSN, you can see the difference. The DSN is on the left, the phantom on the right. Now to the 10 minute later picture. You will notice a problem I have with the DSN. It fell on the ground during the photoshoot! The minute hand fell off. Guess it needs to go to a watchsmith now... but it is still running, which is a start. You can really see the degradation of the lume between the two and how the black lume has worked out over that time on the phantom. (It is on the numbers and indicies, not the hands). In any event, it is a nice watch none the less. Shame black doesn't glow as well as I might like.
  12. That dual time looks pretty good Robbie. For me it is my dirty beater BCE today.
  13. When i joined the forum, it was because I had been looking at getting a gen tag heuer, but on my search for them basically started looking at what else was around. Upon joining here, I found Andrews site, and after hours of reading I ordered the BCE with black face and white subdials. When it arrived I was really impressed with how good a watch it was, and more pleased than I would have been had I got the aquaracer I originally thought of getting. Comparing both when I was outside an AD I was more than happy with the watch I got. Fast forward over 2 years, and i still use the Breitling as my daily beater. Unlike some of you, I have not had the money to go crazy and buy every new rep that comes out, so have stuck to getting just a few. A couple of pams, the UPO, a rolex, but keep ending up wearing the breit as the daily beater. I work outdoors and it has seen a lot of wear over the time I have had it, and I posted a topic a few weeks ago when the chrono pusher came off. The watchsmith said it couldn't be fixed without more parts, so it has since been superglued in. Not that I used the chrono much anyway. But I digress, this is not supposed to be a 'breitling' thread, hence the reason it is in general discussion. This is about the reliability of the A7750 that powers it. As I said, I work in quite a pysical job, something that I guess a mechanical watch should not be subjected to. However, it is, and I see no need to stop using it since it has survived so far. I set my watch a week ago to check the accuracy of it, since it is something I have never really done before, other than note that I don't have to adjust it as it isn't out by much anyway. Not had it serviced, and bought it about 26 months ago. Over the past week I have checked a few times to see how it has been going, and was a bit disappointed after the first day when it looked to be close to a minute slow. Well, fast forward a week, and there may be some inaccuracies in the tolerance day to day, but as of now, I am 10 seconds fast in 7 days. Not bad for an unserviced, hard worn, over 2 year old asian movement. Well within cosc specs averaged over that week. Now I have said this it will probably blow up on me in the next week, but I sure hope it doesn't. I think I might like it. A bit dirty, but I like 'em that way
  14. I don't need a full iced out evo, but I wouldn't mind Ubi7's one being repped, with the roman numerals and bling bezel. So many more combo's that need doing on the evo's.
  15. You should head over this way Ken, about 10 degrees cooler. I still gave up working about noon when it hit 33, no wind, just too hot outside. More jobs left to do monday now... And the natives over this way tend to wear less too (or at least a good 5-10% do) although Mrs Kenberg might be asking for a divorce fairly quickly

I agree, it loads just as fast as any others around for me.
  17. They do tend to be high, it's why I tend to stay away from what he has on offer. Although those ones he had for free including a $10 note a few weeks ago could have been alright
  18. I, like some of you do I assume, subscribe to a local watchsellers mailing list. He is based here in Sydney, Australia. Just seen this oris on his list, if anyone is interested http://www.clockmaker.com.au/w/k1392.html $1399AU for a gen 7750 movement in this divers watch.
  19. So putting 1 and 1 together gets Robbie gangbanger? As to mine, Phaedo is the name of a character from Plato, thought it sounded cool when I was studying philosophy
  20. I doubt there would be an issue, but just double check that it is something that is able to be sent - sometimes I have found items that can't be shipped from somewhere such as amazon is due to shipping regulations, not their own shipping policy.
  21. The lack of a date is the main reason I don't wear the pams more often, I use the date on them all the time, yes I do forget that often during the day! Only got one with a day function, and I don't find I forget what day it is often enough to beed the function, although I would like to get a Breitling headwind which has both day and date function (but there don't seem to be any good reps).
  22. having had a couple of rep MB's, I can say they were average at best. For the money there are other pens out there that are very nice, and well made. I have a picasso which is very nice, and probably cost just over half what the MB did, and although it is Chinese, it is not a rep, and hence there are quality controls in place.
  23. Exactly my attitude too, I might be wearing flash (rep) watches, but it isn't for others, it is for me; I prefer the more obscure designer stuff, because it is good, but others generally have not heard of it, because I like good stuff, but not trying to flash it about. In fact, i would almost prefer to be driving around in a Ferrari on a deserted island purely to avoid the rubber-kneckers looking at me. Go for the Porsche if that is what you are after, but of course be sure it is what you are after; if the economy does keep on a downhilll spiral it will make it that much harder to get rid of at a good price when (for example purely) you decide it was an AMG you were after in the end.
  24. For me the worst offender would be the UPO I think, the bracelet just doesn't want to stay on the arm in one place so it slides down and the crown hits the back of my hand all the time. I find the Pams to be comfortable though.
