  1. C'mon , man, don't keep us in the dark, let's hear about it and see it Congratulations on a beautiful watch ! regards
  2. Actually, these days "new" should refer to working regulator version that started appearing in some new high-end reps All other versions are quite old already. regards, Ivan
  3. Well, it can be lot of things, most probably something wrong with double corrector (small star-like thingy that enables you to change day and date quickly on 7750) or keyless works. One thing that you should NEVER do on any 7750 (swiss or asian) is change day/date from 8PM till 4 AM. If you have tried to do that you have most probably damaged/displaced double corrector. regards
  4. Small warning - changing datewheel on HBBs (or any other rep with this movement) is not as easy as on regular 7750. Thing is, all the gears that are used to move minute totalizer to 3-o-clock are over DW, so you need to take all that apart, so that you can access DW. Just in case you decide to do it yourself regards
  5. I'm quite sure gen has all case parts made of ceramic (except lateral inserts, insert that goes under bezel and inner construction). Since there is brushed ceramic bezel, I don't see why there would not be brushed ceramic case parts. If all-ceramic HBBs would really be in ~$750 ball-park that would be great (of course, if they really are full ceramic), but I don't see how new all-black models with PVD case can remail at $1000+ So either it will go down of all-ceramic will go up regards
  6. Really not any special features. It has 2894 with rotating discs instead of small hands, positioned under the dial. Of course, Tag calls it "revolutionary" rotating system, but really nothing special. I just can't see did they get thickness right, because 2894 i really thin movement, and A7750 with additional module get quite thick ... I couldn't find any side shots of the gen to compare. Other than that, and a bit misaligned date on Kings pics, rep looks pretty cool. regards
  7. I don't know about chrono version, but non-chrono GTXL have 23 mm lugs, and deployant is 22 mm. It can take 24 mm strap, at least if it is not very thick. Here is picture of GTXL on 24/22 BOB gator: regards,

Have anyone had this already ? I'm very tempted, but I'm a bit worried about 21600 sec-at-3 movement :cc_confused: I wonder if hour subdial is really 6 hour, or is it standard 7750 12 hour ... anyhow can't wait to see some reviews regards
  9. Yep, it seems nothing is sacred any more... I guess, if "makers" continue in this direction, next is Hamilton X-Wind super rep regards
  10. Sometimes prices on that Kings site are not exactly what she is charging for watches, sometimes I received quotes from her by e-mail that were higher than on that site. And with all the frenzy about new GMTII prices will probably go up not down regards
  11. This blue festina dial looks very familiar ... I'm sure I have seen on some board .. hmmm maybe RWI regards
  12. This might be swiss (of course, with asian plates) - it has novodiac shock protection, and almost all asians have incablock. There are some swiss that have incablock, but it looks different than asian version. It also have swiss-looking balance wheel. regards
  13. Where did this info came from ?? And, in that case how do you explain these pics: http://www.horomundi.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3269 regards
  14. They had datewheel all wrong on all black ... what a shame And, why not do regular AB first ?? Well, let's hope for regular AB lite soon, I'm not giving 1k for this ... regards
  15. It seems they finally made 03-92 with correct case shape and thickness, and with Asian 2892 movement, like it should be in the first place. Dial print looks a bit fuzzy, but I like this new case very much regards
  16. Will there be version with seconds-at-9 ? It looks much better to me, this reminds me of pocket watch too much regards
  17. I'm in love with this watch for a long time, first I saw pictures of gen when @flavor posted about purchasing a gen, and then I checked it out in person many times at various ADs. So, for a long time I was waiting for super-rep to happen. And then, without warning, it appeared, and despite noticing all flaws, I knew I got to have it. Now that I have it, it quickly became one of my favorites, it really has something specific, even w/o correct subdial spacing. As for subdial spacing, it just can't be done with 7750, since all subdials have different positions. Increasing 3 and 6 subdials, like someone suggested so to get gen-like overlaping of 9 and 6 o'clock dials, would not leave space for 3 and 6 hour markers, so that would be again ugly solution. One thing I really wish they have done is to do custom movement rotor, since gen has really spectacular rotor - and movement of course - but when you see rotor it really grabs attention. And since on new, crappy 150$ worth IWC Portugese auto they made really complicated rotor design, it is really beyond me why not do it on $350+ super rep As for quality it is definitely there, case is very well replicated, bezel is made of quality rubber, no dust. Shape of the case, and that is one of the things I adore about this watch, is perfectly replicated, feel and finish are very close to gen. Another possibly weak point is strap - it's wearable and looks quite decent for a rep strap, but I'm very concerned how it will look after few months of wearing, it definitely is not even close to real leather. Since it's custom design it will be very hard to find aftermarket replacement. On a positive side, deployant is very well made, and it has a nice way of "hiding" end of strap, without keepers, check it out on a picture below. OK, enough talk, lets do some pics. I was kind of lazy when taking those, and did it with quite harsh lighting, w/o deploying lightbox so maybe it's not best possible. Maybe this weekend I'l do some better pics with proper lightning. Here we go: For anyone still not knowing how dial should look like, this is gen: AR on this one is strong, but with strong blue-ish hue. Now days I got used to industrial quality AR coating we can get from k2222 and chief, so this does not impress me any more like it would few months ago. Back of the watch is also very nicely made, with great attention to detail - except for the rotor, of course: And, this is how rotor SHOULD look like (picture by @flavor flav): On with the pictures from every possible angle This watch wears quite small on wrist (of course, compared to 44 & 47 mm PAMs, HBBs and like), and is very comfortable to wear, even for thin-wrist person like myself. Here are some side-by-side size comparison shots with PAM 229 and HBB: That's it for now, thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. regards
  18. @giorgio - Well, I think I must say something here, since I feel I'm being called out here for something I really don't like. First of all, every fact I stated are related to discussion whether movement and finish of this prototype are suitable or not. My point is that on this board we always try to push "makers" into making accurate and quality reps - at least I got that impression in my year-and-half I hang around here. Of course you didn't "fall for it" - since obviously you are not interested in argumented discussion about reps, but want to push some private agenda, and I really have nor time nor interest in participating in such discussions ... In the end I made one observation based on tone and names-calling in your first post, and if I offended you with that I'm sorry. regards
  19. OK, first lets get some facts ... white gold is alloy of gold and nickel/paladium/platinum and is sometimes coated with rhodium. As for similarity closest thing to palladium is platinum (they are elements from same group), and then white gold - all these materials have silvery-white-ish dull shine to them - unlike SS. If you don't have palladium at hand white gold is quite good match, definitely better than SS. And ... you were not complaining ?? How do you call this It's obvious you do not have a problem with this watch, but with collector(s) that advertised it - and I have nothing against that - but I would just like to point out that this is silly way to settle your score with them ... and because of that fact I think I'll discuss this topic no more ... I have a new watch, and have to write something about it ... I think it will be time better spent regards
  20. Cheap version of BBK is already available, so if you don't want this version, go with cheap one. I really see no point in complaining when "makers" decide to make accurate rep, and insisting that they make less accurate, because you think they could use cheaper movement ? And, since B&R 01-92 does not have date in any version, last remark is kind of pointless, don't you think. regards
  21. Just got it, pictorial coming soon ... Can't get it off my wrist to take pics ... stay tuned regards
  22. I agree, this dial needs 3 and 6 ... this way to me it looks like they fallen off regards
  23. Nice piece Tourby, can't wait to see it finished. What is that strap on last set of pictures ? Is it OEM IWC or something custom ? It looks really thick, it must be at least 5 mm. regards
  24. It seems Mr.JCB closed another sweet deal regards
  25. Now, that is what I call flawed logic - if you have a rep watch that is not available any more, it's OK to make a profit, but if you are selling watch that is available, but you want to recoup you investment in it, it's not OK ? Well, I guess, it would be best that "used fake watches" be sold for PP/postage expenses only, so poor noobs don't have to worry what will they get for their money ... regards
