  1. I suggested this solution last time PP was blocked (keep everyone in their current status, until PP is fixed), but it's obviously not doable ...
  2. Wow, great info ! This falls into "why-didnt-I-think-of-this" category Well, I guess it never occurred to me that 2846 and 2824 have identical gear trains ... Anyhow, I think this is by far the best way to modify diver movement to low-beat config. regards
  3. It's a beautiful day Don't let it get away ...
  4. For me inability to use PMs (because I would have to delete most of them, to come under 100) and these annoying ads are much more frustrating than just not being able to post FS topics. Much better solution would have been just to extend VIP/Platinum privileges to anyone who had that at the time payments stopped working - until new payment system is in place. regards
  5. I wasn't talking about cut-out, but about profile. To me it looks too "fat". Not that it would prevent me from buying one of these beauties, but just in relation to: "Made with genuine as a sample" thing
  6. That does not look like proper CG for C and D series handwind models ? Or am I missing something ? Regards
  7. Yes, it's about time to resolve something ... anything, some temporary measure. At first I just wasn't able to post in sales sections, but since today I started getting these really annoying commercials all over the place  It really kind of kills the joy of browsing around here for me ...
  8. Swiss powered 196, since yesterday ...
  9. Great video, thanks for sharing! This guy made a great explanation, but his voice is soo flat I almost fell asleep )

  11. Perfect summer watch - CD 2006
  12. Chillin' and enjoying the sunset
  13. If you look at the second picture in original post, it is obviously A7753 top plate, ETA 7753 top plate looks completely different. Nothing to manipulate on the movement itself really, only thing they did was to print numbers on the DW closer to the outer edge. A7753 DW can accommodate both positions - 7750 and 7753, it is wide enough. So, if you can get blue PAM DW for 7753, you can have direct swap for ETA in 326. There is NO WAY to use A7753 DW on ETA 7753 movement - never ever, nope, nada, nicht ... inner diameter is different, no help there. regards
  14. DD chrono module is not going to happen any time soon, unfortunately. Not really easy task, this module is quite complicated piece of engineering, and DD is quite secretive about all its modules. As far as I have heard, there do not allow (or provide resources for) servicing of modules outside of their manufacture, do not provide spares etc. Allegedly, when servicing ROO chrono movements AP simply replaces module with new one I think if some of rep movement factories would have necessary resources to do such a complicated reverse-engineering task they would start with ETA 2894 - and manufacture its chrono module. Much more current hot watches use 2894, some already exist as reps with modified 7750, but thickness is always problem, since 2894 is extremely thin for a chrono movement. regards
  15. It's obvious that compete top plate, including date change components was taken from A7753, otherwise there would be no way to get A7753 DW into ETA 7753. Due to small differences in construction I would guess that few gears also had to be taken from A7753.So this is more like "Swasian" 7753, than ETA Not really worth it in my opinion, but to each his own. Congrats to proud owner, really beautiful watch ! regards
  16. I'm not sure if DSN officially released new born 027, but since I noticed new case on his Photobucket, I shoot him an email, and asked when will new case be available. He offered me "upgrade" - to send him my watch and he will upgrade it with new parts. I rejected that, and we agreed on me sending him old parts, and when he receives parts and my payment, he'll send me new parts. Well, some two months after sending my parts, and month after making payment I received my package Of course, I sit at my desk straight away, and started assembling my "new born" watch. Unfortunately, as time went by, my enthusiasm started to wain So, to cut to the point here are my thoughts about this new set of parts: GOOD: - new crown and tube, really great job done, absolutely no need to replace it - visually better looking lugs, not so short and stubby any more - hmm, can't remember anything else BAD: - lugs still can't accept thick straps (and I don't mean super-thick here), for example rubber straps (old style) from latest H and noob offerings - pretty much 1:1 dimensions, can't possibly be mounted with tubes, not even squeezed in - there is no strap lip (I'm not sure is this correct or not, but definitely does not help with previous problem) - DW has thicker font OK, but it seems to me it was just old font printed two times with small offset ... looks like poorly focused picture - CG - biggest flop of all: odd shape (see pics), strange screws used, strange position of CG holes, lever tip (crown facing) looks like it was done by chain saw - related to previous - aftermarket CGs (like Sead A-F) CAN'T be used because CG holes have completely sc*ewed up position (like on previous case), and CG does not fit case profile (unlike previous 027 case that accepted Seads CG nicely) - quality of case is poor in comparison to latest PAM offering, screws feel very coarse, and like thread is gonna strip after 5 operations, movement holder is poorly machined etc. All in all, I would say huge disappointment, at least for me, but here are some pictures, so you can see what am I talking about: regards
  17. Mmm, I would say it was worth a few hours wait ... I like the new look very much
  18. So, few weeks ago I got myself nice white 42mm Explorer II, and loved it so much that I decided to take few shots with other members of the family. Overall quality is great, ARd cyclops looks sweet, and movement is not so bad after all (I got swiss version). I'm not so much into Rolies, but I happen to like recent designs (probably because they are pretty much departure from classical Rolex designs, and not very much loved by Rolex afficionandos). Other two members of the family are DSSD, V6 from Angus, with Uwe AR and BKs DWO, and Ceramic Sub, 2836 "superclone" version. This is one of rare versions of 116610 that has correct crown position, and since rehaut, pearl and crown position are pretty much only things that I notice on Subs (I don't have eye for CGs, dial fonts and other intricacies on Subs) - this version mostly covers all those bases. Some of recent more expensive Subs (like SA3135 versions) have, to my big surprise, terribly positioned crown, compared to this version. So, enough talk, lets see some action Lets start with star of this review - 216570 Some family photos: And little cousin - 116610: regards
  19. Thanks guys, it definitely is a keeper ! I got it from Sead (Super Mirrors). I have never seen H-fact version in person, so I can't comment, but from all info I managed to gather around fora, this version is superior. regards
