First, OP's English is excellent. Second, I think that the watch is a masterpiece and exudes pure class. I agree with David, it does look better than gen somehow lol. Message crafted while wrestling a juvenile crocodile that's unwilling to be captured and made into leather

First of all, please relax. Such unfortunate occurrences do happen in the hobby, and we just need to know how to deal with it, mainly for our own sanity and health. Next, I would not really consider this a rip-off. The watch arrived with the crown and pusher dislodged, and packaging damaged you say? This could be due to the rough handling of the postage workers, or some harsh condition encountered during the shipping process. I think its fair to say that Puretime has supplied a lot more watches that arrived in one piece, and have not selected a damaged one for you to ruin your christmas and your life. I am sure that the watch was intact during the QC process, or you would not have accepted it. What you are unhappy about mainly, is the way which they have handled the issue after being informed about the misfortune. Being a rep buyer myself, I would not try to be sanctimonious and tell you not to be angry. But PT has not ripped you off. They have responded in a manner which is less than acceptable to you. If you need to vent, yes this is the place to do so. However, do be prepared for opinions of others which differ from yours. Yes you are the one who had suffered this inconvenience. But when you choose to share your experience, be ready at least for the vagary of opinions and viewpoints. Instead of sending the watch back to China, which would cost you more time and money, send it to a repair guy in USA, it does not have to be in your city. Get the watch fixed, and serviced at the same time. It still beats sending it halfway round the world. In this hobby, be prepared for incidentals like this, and know how to solve issues with efficacy and minimal emotional distress. Believe me I have faced much worse and got through them. There are members who have had their watches stolen, shipped the wrong watches, and a host of other issues encountered. It is never pleasant I concede. So yes, do your rant, and then move on. Kernow and the rest are not against you at all. So take it easy, and don't let this ruin your day.

Experts opinion needed on AP Roo :)

I'm no expert but I would share my 2 cents with you. The regular A2824 is a proven workhorse, reliable and steady. Just because the movement stated in this watch is an ETA, it does not automatically necessarily mean that its new, working well, and in a serviced state. Besides, whether its ETA2824 or A2824, it is beating at the wrong beat vs gen. Therefore, your gain mostly, when shelling out some premium for this, is, without proven credence, assurance of reliability that is borne from perception that you are getting a superior movement. You may not be. But if you have the budget, it would not hurt to purchase it over the A2824 I guess. It may not be better or worse than its Asian counterpart. The A2824 movement has come a long way and has a proven track record. I personally would not bother with the ETA variant when purchasing from dealers. -
Hands are not modded. The date has started changing meaning it's an A7750 movement. Datewheel window ring seems to be touching tachy. Date font is too small. Why would it be mistaken as gen, may I ask? Message crafted while wrestling a juvenile crocodile that's unwilling to be captured and made into leather

I thought you already own a few very gorgeous APs bro?

Haha to be honest this is my first Omega. I am learning myself and the way I look at it, I don't mind having an inaccurate but customized inner bezel since the stock one is inaccurate anyway... Stick to your v1 "dinosaur", the difference (mainly the "5" on the bezel) is too insubstantial to warrant an update. Who looks at the "5" anyway?

Yes sir. Large pic = v2. Small pic = v1. Message crafted while wrestling a juvenile crocodile that's unwilling to be captured and made into leather Yes and that's why, I'm going to customize my v2 and paint the inner bezel black for a stealth look. It's a $275 fun watch for me. Message crafted while wrestling a juvenile crocodile that's unwilling to be captured and made into leather

I do not know whether to tap out to the figure four leglock or this excessive bling. -
I personally think it's silly to release an iteration and name it v2 based purely on an updated strap. The watch has some flaws that need addressing, like the bezel insert thickness and yes crown like you mentioned. It's more like a v1 watch with a v2 strap. Guys, the first batch of divers would be shipped next Monday. Sorry there has been some delays due to my own work schedule but the first batch is essentially ready and good to go after the movement run-down testing and waterproof tests. The second batch would be shipped around end of the month. Thank you once again for your patience! -

AP ROO Forged Carbon Noob 44 / All QC rejected
Legend replied to Linxiaoyu's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Ok let me give you a very subtle hint LXY. Try Ryan from intime.co. Ask for "an entire and complete set of screws for whatever model you want". Hope this hint helps. Message crafted while wrestling a juvenile crocodile that's unwilling to be captured and made into leather -

I do not think that you have been, or deserved to be bashed. Some of us care more about a specific feature of our watch more than the others. (For me, its not screws but movement health and dial accuracy ;)) But the screw problem is a relatively easy one to solve compared with "fixed" inaccuracies like the date window position and such.. Heck, you could even replate each screw in rhodium if you so desired. The answer to one of the questions you asked is: Yes, you can buy a whole set of screws (rep of course) from your dealer. I have done it before. Good luck once again! -

As with most communities, established members have certain advantage or prerogatives over new ones when it comes to trade matters. There is nothing much you (or other new members like you) could do except stay on and earn your trust in the community, gaining reputation, feedback and most importantly trust from the rest of the members. Regarding established members going rogue, that is of course possible and has happened before. But the risk that a new member poses is a lot more salient.

AP ROO Forged Carbon Noob 44 / All QC rejected
Legend replied to Linxiaoyu's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Oh my... I would not reject the watch on account of the screws buddy, unless they are egregiously bad, like they have been chewed in continual rotation between 3 bulldogs over 24hrs. But that is just me... I guess nobody could tell you what is right or wrong when it comes to accepting or rejecting the QC pics. Do bear in mind that this is a rep, meaning, the quality of metal used for the screws and other small parts would not be as nice as the genuine in terms of finish. Besides, the screws do not look bad to me personally. It could be due to lighting, angle, dust, or scratches that could be polished off, and even that (polishing screws) is a little extreme... I have seen watches rejected due to flaws in the dial, misalignment, and other reasons, but never one rejected multiple times due to screws. Trust me, when I tell you that when you look at your watch, the screws would not be what you look at 99.9% of the time. I would not consider your rejection based on the above pics to be reasonable, if I were to be the dealer. This is the rep game. If you cannot live with minor imperfections, get the gen. I can tell you that the JF is not perfect as well, it could have the perfectly finished screws which are so important to you, but over time, you could become bothered with some other minor detail that does not seem quite right to the eye. I concur that the JF build and finish are better than the Noob in general, yes. But the ugly and inaccurate dial details and datewheel bother me so I would choose the Noob model and refine and modify it myself. But again, thats just me. If you like the JF, go buy the JF! Its a free world and it is your money. QC pics DO NOT capture everything that could be wrong with the watch trust me. One classic example is the stuttering second hand. Another example would be loose or broken parts anywhere on the watch that looks still attached. Ultimately, it is you who would decide what you could live with, and what you could not. Every watch purchase IS a risk whether we admit it or not. That is where knowing how to fix the minor after-purchase issues becomes crucial for the survival of our own sanity. But being too pedantic and fastidious would just make you a person that dealers (and other members) would eventually shun. Learn some basic skills, and you could actually polish, align, repair or replace the screws yourself. Good luck. You are going to need a lot of it.
