  2. That's why it's a conversation piece. The 0-4 in the top bar indicates the hours. The "+" is the hour hand. The number below the "+" needs to be added to the number it's pointing to. That will give the hour. The minute hand is read the normal way. The day and night indicator shows you if it's pm or am. The seconds hand is read the same way as the hour hand. Think about it. . Message crafted while wrestling a juvenile crocodile that's unwilling to be captured and made into leather
  3. For exmple, Mr Kernow, if you were to list a watch for sale stating "paypal gift unless I know you", I would be happy to send you gift based on your individual reputation, if I had been able to. No second thoughts. IF it is, however a new guy with 5 posts asking the same for the same watch at the same price, I would stay away. We are a small and tightly knitted community where one gets known quickly for the way he is (or isn't). I recently had a member PM me asking me if I was interested in a modded AP ROO (he listed the mods with no pics) for $1500, payable only via transfer. I told him in no uncertain terms, albeit politely where he could stuff that watch.
  4. Actually this works both ways. I am both a seller and a buyer. As a buyer, I would be willing to send payment as gift to a seller whom I know well enough.. it does save me 4%.(Though Paypal does not offer the gift option in my country) As a seller, I would insist on paypal gift or bank transfer when selling to a new or unknown guy, especially for high value watches. In this hobby, both the sellers and buyers are entitled to protection. Caveat Emptor remains the best advice when trading.
  5. Occasionally, in China, you get what is known as "customs red light", where pckages are being held and not moved along. It is normal, do not worry. And try not to track the package daily, it would cause nothing but undue worry, lol
  6. Yes you do see don't you.. when it comes to the worth of this watch series, I tend to believe the sincerity of the Chinese a little more...
  7. The festive season is also a season for scams because the usual wariness is lower as the mood for buying elevates.. Do not let your festive be robbed my fellow members. Keep the eyes wide open and try not to send pp gifts for guys you do not know well enough.
  8. All sold guys, except the last slot. Just a broadcast update: The first batch of 3 divers would be ready to ship in the next 10 days or so. This would include the 48hr movement run-down testing after watch completion. Thank you everyone for your patience!
  9. Just received news today that a V2, either for the Spectre version or the regular seamaster 300 would be released sometime next week, she is unsure which. So guys you might wish to hold your purchases accordingly meanwhile.
  10. The V series is very well made Mike, and wears very comfortably due to the fact that it goes along the wrist more than across it. I have this, and of course, did my due diligence for accuracy comparison before I bought it. It uses the same movement as the genuine watch, and other than the ID chip in the genuine (or mainstream production if you choose to believe the rumors), I have yet to see a tell in this...
  11. Well, there are persistent rumors out there, that the "rep" 7Fridays are not really reps at all, but backdoor gens. The genuine sevenfridays parts are assembled in China, or perhaps have parts produced in China. Either way I know for a fact that China is involved at some manufacturing process of the watch. My own guess is that the replicas are produced from stolen blueprints, but that is just my guess. This is the reason that sevenfriday has resorted to implanting some ID chip in the gen watch to differentiate it from the amazingly well made replica. If the Chinese can produce essentially the same watch for a fraction of the price, this gives us an idea of how much the genuine watch price is inflated over cost for profitability. I have not done a side by side between the two to justify my surmising, so my statement remains an educated guess and from information given by a specific dealer. Everything said, I WOULD buy the Sevenfriday V series at a $200+ price tag, but not at a $1000+ one.

  13. Damn it thats me Cavi! Thanks I am off to have a look!
  14. I've always liked the Panerai Daylight series. I do own the genuine 356 dirty dial, but ironically, it hardly sees the light of day. And I think that the replicas are meticulously reproduced. Yes the inevitable minor inaccuracies exist, like specks of dirt on an immaculately white wall, but they do not annoy the viewer unless scrutinized closely. So yes, the replica Daylight series are firmly ensconced in my favorite list of replicas. One minor detail does bother me for the replica A7753 movement: as many of you may know, the subdial hand at 3 is perpetually a little loose, and would pivot just a little on either side when the watch is tilted or moved in the corresponding direction, due to the construction of the A7753 movement. To some of us, this supposedly subtle flaw might as well be as egregious as the subdial hand being painted a lurid pink. It is a sublime irritation that creeps up your spine each time you spot it, and you could even imagine the snicker that goes with each little movement of the subdial hand at 3. This has stopped me from procuring any Daylight A7753 replica. Until recently. The H factory has released their next iteration of the Firenze series, and I found love at first sight when I chanced upon pictures of the PAM224 Firenze, a limited blue dial Daylight edition, of which only 100 units are produced. It is not perfect, but damn, it is beautiful, and you know how they like to say beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. I am happy to the beholder of the beauty in this case. Let me say upfront that the replica details are veritably good. No, not perfect, but good enough to be worn even for demanding collectors. But guess what, the curse of the subdial hand is back to haunt, like a ghost that relentlessly refuses to depart. I have decided this time, to buy the watch, and exorcise it from the demon that possesses it. I have two options at that time, after ordering the watch: to put a washer to tighten the fitment of the subdial hand@3, or to implant a genuine ETA 7753 movement into the watch I have become so enamoured with. The washer fix is rather straightforward, and low cost, but it would effectively debilitate the chronograph function of the watch. Whats that? Its an Asian chronograph in the first place you say? Oh stop it already the Asian chronograph function can work very well too once serviced and cleaned. FYI, I have seen more than one genuine AP ROO chronograph not function like they should. But no, much as I tend to leave the chronograph function alone, I do like to look at the watch and know that the function would work like magic each time I press the little button at the 2 o'clock, and reset nicely when I press the one at 4. So, no washer. Which leaves me the other function, so off to eBay I went. To my delight, I found an ETA7753 on sale, for $450 with shipping, donated by some deceased Hamilton timepiece, looking at the rotor. Ok, it would do, especially at that price. Lets skip the boring parts about waiting for the watch and movements to arrive, and the assembly process. What I would like to tell you in brevity is that the movement was put into the watch, and it successfully eliminated the subdial @3 wobble issue. One note to would-be modders wanting to do the same: The A7753 date wheel would not fit in the ETA7753 movement. You could order a 2Geek date wheel, and even that would need to be modded slightly to fit. Ok enough babbling already, I hear the stifled yawns. Off to the pics, which are what really matters I guess. I present to you, fine gentlemen, my rep PAM224 Firenze with ETA7753 movement and 2Geek date wheel. The Hamilton movement saying hello before its encapsulation. The subdial hand@3 proudly standing, no more weak fidgeting! Insert some soppy caption about how time never stands still, but can be so beautiful etc.. I will leave that for the poets. And the obligatory wristshot. Say hello to the world, Mr. 224.
  15. Indeed they are. I wish that the seller mentioned that these would be ideal for guys with at least 7.5" wrists. Haha yes, but if you see the look in their eyes when they are doing so, you would think there is either something wrong with them, or something wrong with the watch/strap.
  16. I just ordered this and received QC pics after doing some research. My very first Omega in 4 years @Mike on a bike! The main flaw with the watch itself is the ratio of the ceramic/SS band thickness. In the gen, the ceramic width is thinner and the SS thicker. The reverse is true in the rep. Other than that, of course the straps and bracelets are not up to par vs the gen with the wrong finishing details, nothing that a strap replacement would not fix I reckon? All in all, a good rep, and I am looking forward to receiving mine!
