  3. If there was a "buy it now" button on your post i would have pushed it in a heartbeat. You guys (you and @cavi) are simply abominable posting this beauty when it's unavailable to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm happy you're not posting that colamariner here. After iggi's post, yours would have been too much to take. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Klotis77 A forum, as you already know, is an online community where like-minded individuals congregate to share information, engage in social exchanges, and trade watches. Anti-social behavior is always frowned upon, and the difference is how fast the proverbial moderator boot connects with your butt and the quantity of collective bashing you get when you get out of line. But the end result will ultimately be the same, you find yourself on the shit list on one more forum. You are being watched and monitored here, because of your notoriety at RWI. Feel free to mingle and do the things you came here for. "Being polite" is an unwritten rule on a lot of forums, but it should come as second nature to any decent human being. Maybe you are not here to make friends and thats ok too, as long as you do not turn offensive or unruly. The moment you do, you would get turned out of RWG faster than you can say ouch. Then where are you going to go next? RepGeek? I remember member Wimpie is the administrator there. I think you would find the doors shut too. So if you are on medication, take them before you log in. Stay away from your keyboard when you drink. Some men become mellow and pleasant when slightly inebriated, others just turn into assholes. The most unfortunate of assholes sometimes get turned into the stuff that daisies and beautiful flowers thrive on when rotting alone and slowly in a desolated woods somewhere, after a word or action out of line. The members replying in this thread are wary of you. I am wary of you. But this is because there is no preventing the trail of foulness that drips from you and backtracks all the way back to RWI. Just so you know, gay slurs, racially offensive insults are not welcome. Try not to do any name calling or reprise the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde here please. Stick to watch related topics for a start and you would do fine. Disengage yourself from aggressive situations. Thanks and feel free to look around.
  6. Your reputation at RWI precedes you klotis77. It is a more laid back and relaxed forum here, but be careful, because if you start suffering from keyboard Tourette Syndrome and going bipolar on guys here, there is no brig to hold you. You (and future clones)will simply be expelled. I am not here to call you names, or to emasculate you in any way, but fair warning, please mind your manners here.
  7. Thanks @jpz5142.. The more I see it, the more I like it... damn. Thanks mate I will try writing to him. And with that, I wish I've never seen your damn thread, or the colamariner! OK I will take it that it simply doesn't exist!
  8. If you are going to check the gen, look out for a few things in particular, and you will see what I mean: - The movement of the genuine diver is actually not as "smooth sweeping" as the rep one..sounds ironical, but this is due to the lower beat of the gen calibre. - Check the lume construction on the inner bezel. Not the lume itself, but the way the inner bezel numbers are printed and the way the white lume is applied over them. Therein lies my biggest gripe, between the gen and rep divers. - The dial. Notice the difference in crispness between the gen and the rep. The 3 things that I mentioned above, it is difficult to spot, even for me, when I see a diver in the wild on the wrist. I need to engage the expertise of the very formidable in-house ROO diver expert @folex to help most of the time when trying to determine if a diver shown in a picture is rep or gen. The rep game has progressed very well over the years and honestly there isn't much to improve for the ROO diver anymore. I've never had any of my packages opened by customs, so it sounds like an aberrant occurrence to me.

  11. Basically, D, you are experienced to know that in such contentious episodes, name-calling and online bashing are games that never end, and the concept of public right and wrong depend primarily on the number of supporters in each camp. This rule does not of course apply to straight out scams. In the RWI brig, it is often 1 "inmate" against the horde, and onlookers take glee in bashing the guy even if most of them got no stakes in the matter on hand. The public humiliation and insults serve to deter the rest of the community from similar offences, and yes, it gives them an avenue to liberate themselves from the moderation observed in other sections of the forum. But we are people in the end, with our own moods, preferences, inclinations, temperaments. We have been called scumbags and countless other names and called others the same through the years. Cyber bullies are often loud on the keyboard and reserved otherwise in person. The internet and comfort of distance and anonymity has created countless warriors and heroes, and gave voices to the usually meek ones. Let this be the knitting circle, and you can be called a whiner or douche or whatever. They do not know you personally, just your internet persona. I am inclined to believe that like me, you have an actual life and in your case, you could be reading this wearing a Singha tank top, with a Chang beer in hand and a gorgeous ladyboy bouncing on your lap, cajoling you to give less attention to my post and more to her/him.. Ok I jest but you get the idea. I saw the straps that you are selling in the straps section buddy. Why don't you PM me your best offer I will buy them all? I am doing this not because I have 500 panerai, but I do this out of goodwill toward you, and I would of course request that you ship all of them to my friend Mike on a Bike to raffle off at the next RWG raffle?
  12. Thanks a ton Kernow. This is my first encounter with a "Colamariner" and I like it a lot. Is there a gen of this model at all, assuming that the one OP posted is a rep? (Pardon me if thats not the case), I know nothing about Rollies.
  13. Is it available to buy off any TD? ok this is a Rollie noob question. Bashings accepted!
  14. Tread veeeerrrrryyyy carefully brother of mine.. one word out of place and kaboom! PAM29 becomes Pieces Are Many Tonight and RB2 becomes Really Broken, Too. @folex
  15. Actually, @swdivad, I was just over at RWI and realized that you are not really banned, just "incarcerated" at their infamous brig. The bashings are present of course, as with any other "inmate" down there, and to me, its always easy to trod on anyone when he is down, especially with the powers that be standing behind the mob. Its typical in any community, online or otherwise I guess. Someone has also posted your PM exchange in the thread, and something over a $10 discount request for strap you were selling. It is your strap, your private exchange with another party, and your point of view. It should not have been publicized. I would not comment on that as I was not involved in that at all. I respect you as a member much more senior than me in the hobby Mr D, and I think you are a member of good standing over at RWG. I personally do not agree with airing of PMs in public unless its absolutely necessary to do so to verify the crux of a matter on hand, nor do I agree with extensive and collective bashing of any individual at all. We are all just people ultimately, and we have our good and bad days, and strengths and weaknesses. The day we learn to see people as people, and not labelled objects, would be the day we become enlightened a lot more. What I would like to reiterate, is that RWI has their own strengths as a forum. For example, the sales offering, and information on specific watches, are often a lot more eclectic and extensive in nature, and I enjoy that aspect of the forum very much. Here at RWG, the atmosphere is a lot more laid back, and there is a lot less policing and yes bashing of the fallen. You just seem to fit in here better than you do over there. So stay here, and I am sure that your years of experience would translate to useful learning for the rest of us.
  16. Damn, I never liked subs. But that dial is just superb. First time I've seen one, and its simply beautiful. May I ask, as to where you procured such a piece? I love the red, I love the coca-cola emblem on the dial, and I like what you did with the cyclop. I would like to buy a colamariner, can you kindly point me in the right direction please? I would appreciate that very much.
  17. Hey G, are you yet 21 and legally able to drink? ok ok I jest.. thanks for dropping by, its always a pleasure to hear from you sir. The blue themes might be up for sale soon, its making way for another two incoming frankens which I am more inclined to wear. So if you're keen, we can talk.. Gen hands are almost obligatory on ROO frankens. The hands pinion stack is smack in the middle of all the gen stuff, and its pointless to build a franken and have the hands stack give it away right? The hands mod (trim, bevel and polish) is a good solution, but if you can, go for gen hands for each franken you build. You will appreciate the difference each time you look at your watch. Likewise for the date mag mod. Most ROO frankens have this small tell in the date font magnification, which is too small... so the ETA datewheel plus cyclop mod addresses this flaw, BUT creates a new subtle one, in slight font inaccuracy.. so you see, reps (which frankens are) would never be perfect. We can mod the watch to hell and back, and make it look darned good on the wrist, and perhaps visually 99% or even 100% gen like. But a rep will always be a rep, and a gen would be a gen. But we already know that, and that is what this hobby is about, making our reps as satisfactory according to our tastes as possible, and yet not crossing the mental boundary of forgetting it for what it is. The pursuit and attainment of that last 1%, or 0.1% of accuracy can only be achieved by going genuine. If anyone cannot be happy with 99%, then this hobby is not for them. I am happy with a rep if the flaws do not irk me each time I look at it. So give me a 100% frontal accurate franken with a mickey mouse engraved caseback and I would be happy with it. And no, I would not be taking it out for my friends to discuss the oddity of a Disney character depiction on my "luxury end high watch". So to each their own. As long as you are happy with the watch, and am able to wear it proudly and with satisfaction, the opinions of your neighbors and peers need not apply. I drive this only occasionally bro. 900bhp and 1100Nm, meant for those days when Godzilla wants to chomp on some prancing horses and perhaps a bull or two... Ah thanks brother... time already for you to get some See anything familiar in the last pic bro?
  18. Surprised to see a non-invicta on you brother Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. This watch was built by spinmaster with parts sourced from A very ingenious contact having access to the ROO gen parts. Here are the specs - gen dial - gen hands - gen tachy - double AR crystal - thinned case - modded case with new crown position by spinmaster - ETA date wheel - cyclops mod - LWO movement donated from Hamilton - strap and buckle from APbands @apbands - rebuffed case by spinmaster With some of its franken brothers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
