  1. Essentially its a swiss mainspring manufactured by ETA that fits the A7750 movement. Not every swiss mainspring would fit the movement.
  2. Do a search. There're more than one thread on this subject. I know because I started one of them. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

  4. I like the carbotech too AJ! You could consider trading this for the later versions, which come with a more accurate "stripes" pattern and a more gen like color variation. I saw a local guy just yesterday wearing the v3(?) carbotech, and I only knew it was a rep after he told me so! I have seen the gen at the local AD, and trust me mate, its worth buying the later iterations if you intend to keep one in your collection.
  5. The rep schumi series all have the wrong dial color, and the wrong datewheel position. I know that most if not all ROO reps have the wrong datewheel position, but noob has shown that it's possible to get the datewheel position correct for the GP series, which essentially has the same dial dimensions as the schumi series. The LBJ needs a lot of mods to bring it up to scratch. Wrong blue color used for the hands, overly protruding lower chrono pusher, crooked markers at 3,6,9 positions, and incorrect cyclop mag to name a few. But comparing the two, I could and have spotted a schumi rep about 10m away on some bloke's wrist. The LBJ is a more accurate watch overall but note the parts that need work. In conclusion, pick the lebron. At least you could work on it. The rep schumi dial color is reminiscent of lifeless elephant buttocks after 4 days of baking in the sun. The case is great but you'll find yourself wincing each time you glance at the dial. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

  8. Just sharing a piece which has been modded by spinmaster. I've franken parts incoming for this model but this is a JF base watch with some added special touches to bring it to the next level. Mods - modded hour hand pinion, reduced diameter, beveled and polished - serviced and fitted with Swiss main spring, 52hrs power reserve - ETA datewheel replacement and modded cyclops, for a more accurate depth and magnification - shaved tachy for that crucial space between tachy and datewheel edge. Yes a franken piece would definitely be better, but not by much on the wrist. I'll let the pics speak for themselves. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

  11. +1. Under the correct lighting, they ARE diamonds. And nobody who sees them would think any different. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

  13. Nice, but the LBJ needs a lot of mods to bring it to an accurate level. I blame the maker as usual

  16. I'm not going to be sanctimonious and lecture you here because I have been guilty of wearing reps to buy gens at more than one gen AD too. The facts I learnt: -most sales reps would not know the difference between a gen and well-made rep, unless he's a knowledgable rep collector himself, or the rep is horrible. It takes talent, or a very badly made rep, for it to be called out on the wrist - if you already bought a gen from him, any rep you wear in there has a good chance of being passed off as another gen in your collection. - the most common comment by far I get, wearing either a gen or rep into an AD, is "nice watch" and very little beyond that. I do not purposefully wear my reps to any genuine brand ADs, but sometimes I do happen to pass by one and enter on impulse to buy a watch I see in the window display, or to chat with a sales staff I know from previous dealings. I do not generally hand a rep over for inspection unless I'm ultra confident of it's build and accuracy (frankens, and 2-3 out of box models I would not name here lest it encourages newbies to do the same ) But yes I consciously try to avoid wearing a rep to a boutique for gens, and if I do, I keep very quiet about it. Reps these days are very well made. I am certain you did not attempt to fool anyone, but was just wearing it for your own pleasure like many of us. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  17. Yes sir. A mash up of the two factories would bring several rep models closer to perfection. I do think that jf did very commendable jobs on the bumblebee and lebron James though and in general, better production of the 42mm roo vs the noob ones. I like the noob date font and their iteration of the GP series especially. If only jf would change the date font, and improve the datewheel position for some models (GP and schumi for example) they would certainly have a distinct edge over the noob productions! 18. Ahhh yes that dreaded bezel! I forgot about that! Ok then on that account alone, for rc, jf wins hands down! Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  19. Do a search. Plenty of information available for this model. It's neither new nor never discussed. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  20. I agree with what my friend AJ said. 2 posts in total, and 1 day newbie, and such a allegation about a dealer here. Your experience in rep purchase seems to be limited to say the least. I am not saying that you are not telling the truth, as the dealers here are not perfect every time. Joshua is at least known, whereas you are not. Invariably, every coin has two sides. I would reserve my comment until Josh chimes in. What you said could be the truth, but your lack of credentials here makes your allegation a doubtful one.
  21. You are correct in general. However noob cases for the 2014 SIHH models have straight chrono guard profiles, more accurate to gen vs the jf, thickness aside. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  22. To each their own. I'm not a fan of the j12 models in general though I must say that they generally have better straps, the correct deployant clasp, and better crystals. The j12 datewheel font for the older models (is an instant put off for me, though this could be replaced with the noob datewheel) The noob ROO reps are in general not as well made, but a lot of them have better dial details like colors, date window spacing (GP series for example), and better case accuracies (2014 SIHH series). Neither is perfect, and I would not say that either j12 or noob is the absolute best rep maker for ROOs. It's model dependent. For the rubberclad, I would agree with you, j12 is better. The datewheel font (and the unavoidable datewheel position of course) are giveaways. Choose the black dial/black datewheel version to minimize the tell. A cyclop mod would further enhance the depth of the rep ROO datewheel as well. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
