It's strange how different things bother different people. People always keep saying how "off" the Fish bezel on the reps is... but I never even noticed it. Same with the Skyland.
Things that bothered me on the rep Fish were the SELs and dial. On Skyland v2, absolutely NOTHING bothers me. It's very nicely built rep. The gen dial would be great but not absolutely necessary (unless you receive a bad one from the factory).
v1 SELs fit very well to my v2. Very nice look, correct recess.
But keep in mind, reps are reps. Even the best ones. The tolerances between watches and bracelets may differ.
No it's not.
Date window and cyclops may be too right (difficult to tell from the pic), wokky rehaut, no front crystal thickness, bad crown guards.
Nice crown though.
It's not all bad. But not as nice as the Noob.
I totally agree with Andreww. If you like the blue, go with the blue. Worry less, enjoy the hobby more.
But I have to disagree with Plaifender. The Fish blue color is totally different. The rep blue is not close under any lighting conditions. They are like two different dials. Not that there's anything wrong with the rep blue... no, it's very nice dark violet blue, but the gen slate blue is completely different.
They had grey genuine example when they built the rep. Grey color is very accurate. Blue is totally off (as usual).
However, the gen dial surfaces are a bit more "glossy". This is typical... but it's not very noticeable.
Get Skyland v2 black or grey. Both are very decent.
Because the gen is superior in every aspect.
Not saying the rep isn't great, it certainly is. But when you see the "3D dial" of the gen, the game is over.
These RobbieG's photos made me do it.
The rep is "as good as" this? I don't think so.
Looks genuine to me.
But remember: Anyone can steal pictures of genuine watches and claim they have them. Pictures prove nothing. How do you know he actually HAS the watch?
Ask him to send a picture that has the watch & written date on paper.
Craigslist is very shady place. Of course there might be good sellers too but it has a scary reputation. And that price is a bit too good to be true. And you know what they say about this... when it sounds too good... etc.
The watch addiction seems to be pretty bad then. Buying inferior versions just for the sake of getting something different.
Join the club and get the B01. I prefer it over the BCE (although I admit it's a bit weird watch). Maybe that's why I like it. Recessed dw doesn't bother me at all... the build quality is very good... no sloppiness. AR isn't that great though.
In that case, I would get the v3 instead. It has good bezel and pretty much perfect dw. The only shortcoming is the lume sticks and wrong Wings logo... but with gen dial those are fixed. Some people claim that v2 has the best bracelet but Precious Time said the bracelet has remained the same since the day 1. There could be variation though.
To be honest, I'm not familiar with v4.
Ah... that's actually called "v4". Or it was called v4 when it was released.
I agree the bezel is off. If I bought a BCE now, I would definitely get the v2 and maybe update the dw. v3 is pretty good as well but I don't like the lume. Perhaps v3 with Roman numerals could be a strong option too?
That's where the reps fail. When you see the gen BCE you'll notice how defined and "ivory white" the gen lume sticks are. v2 has the best sticks but even they are a bit sloppy. Those bother me a lot more than the microscopic Skyland lume inaccuracies. Yet no one ever talks about it.
While not perfect, I think the lume sticks are better on v2. They are sloppier, greener and more "chewing gum"-like on v3. Also, the wings logo is correct on v2.
I would stick with v2 and update the dw.
My 2c.
