Great pick up - you will really enjoy this piece. Superbly built & good lookin'
(Slightly envious as my 'Flake is in the shop for a tune up)

Thanks for the info - the few I have seen with similar dials online were supposed service replacements and I had not seen that particular dial from the factory - very nice. Most everything I have seen & recall was from rose to Snowflake. Recall was the operative word as I just went back and looked there were a few Shield 7016 with that dial - nice
-
Isn't that the wrong dial combo fr a 7016? Early 7016 having the rose dial then transition to the snowflake dial on all of the later 7016 until transition to the 9410? That dial looks like a service replacement or late 94100 (1980ish or later) . Same with the Lollipop sweep

Gavidoc - nice collection ! BRAVO! - Just too many nice ones
I am thus forced to put my only Flake up
gen 94110 with 125
-
I don't have the Josh but my gen 94110 Cyclope 125 is approximately 9mm from center to left edge of date window and 11.5-12mm to right edge. Crystal edge to edge is 30mm. I just took a quick look for the clark spares to side by side compare but it must be in the last 20 pockets I didn't check.

very entertaining boys
i just took my 1675 out of the trash and i think RA is right about the case -
If your trashcan is overflowing and needs a little expansion room - you can send that my way

What they said - the gen 7016 is too good to be put into use as the 1680. Even if you did it the numbers would be all wrong. Why not build the 7016

Nanuq - interesting stuff. Did some digging and it is liquid Aluminium Sulfate . Some more searches revealed a few interesting topics. Here is one example: http://www.finishing.com/547/30.shtml
Worth looking into further - thanks for stimulating some extra thought.

Nice pickup - and yes, 702s are nicer than 703s
My my my, that's a beauty! You've got a 702 crown and tube there, which is far, FAR cooler than a 703. My advice is to find a 702 and replace the crown.
I understand it's possible to soak your crown with the broken stem in alum overnight and it will eat the broken piece out of the hole. I think.............
Can anyone verify this?
Alum? Liquid?

Thanks for the above Duke, you've reassured me, im definetly going for this submariner now,i liked it from the moment i saw it but weren't 100 percent sure but now i am, thanks friend
The site perfectly legit, its run and owned by Trevor time, ive bought watches from him on a few occasion, Trevor is a trusted dealer and very understanding and any purchases you make will go smoothly, Hess an absolute hoot to deal with only one thing about old Trevor, he can be a bit slow in replying to your emails lol, apart from that Hess cool.
Cool thanks....
Then... Must... Resist... Temptation...

Sorry but as I am new here, is that site legit? I was looking through some other pieces there (trying to convince myself NOT to buy anything else) when I saw some of the images looked like from other sites. In several of the vintage subs, the description pages showed screenshots from perfect clones. Just curious, as I habe nto purchased from either. Thanks....

Ach, Mein Gott!
Akira, that's very German, doch?
While I am an ugly American, I did spend a few years in Germany and never once ran across a male Maria. Intentionally or not. But that this thread has been somewhat educational. I think.

DaRool. Druel DaRule Drool
Just trying to find the right thing to say. Man these vintage GMTs are killing me. A couple years ago I would not give them a second look now I have all kinds of drool. Looking forward to this build Ronin

Look through the bad ratings and you'll see a few that have to deal with movements. Tough call, great price. If you can go dateless you may have a winner. Pay with PayPal and you may have some recourse if things go wrong. Caveat emptor.
