Got home late last night but couldn't resist to install the new T-19 crystal I got. Took some work on the crystal retention ring, but I am please with the result (especially for $6 ).

Definitely looking forward to see how this comes out. The cigarette smoke treatment might work well on the all white dial to give it some patina ....

I just had a similar thing happen to me: A guy that I have know for 6-7 years, he goes by the name "Vietnam Charly" around here and drives a pick-up truck that's missing the driver side door .... He saw my 1665 GWSD and checked it out. Then he told me that he has "one of those submariners, but it has no date and one of those with the red and blue ring around them". Turns out he bought both of them while he was in the service in the 60's and when they stopped working he sent them to his son in Arizona where they are sitting in a drawer .... I already offered to take a look at them

I got this one from Nah-Piek earlier this year (big thanks to Cubeistan) and I am quite happy with it ( InGod dial upgrade and some mods): Also have a nice 1665 GWSD from him that I bought personally 2 years ago and it is still running like a charm. The little guy in the store was very helpful (despite obvious communication problems) and even brought me personally to a watch store to install my gen T-39 crystal that I had with me.
