Thanks for the info Stilty. I have purchased a 2893-2 handset(wholesaleoutlet)and my 2893-2 and Rolex 1675 will all be shipped to Ziggy for the conversion. I guess we'll know soon enough whether it can be done. Fingers crossed.

Anyone know how Concepta cleared the dial on the 11C he built with the 2893-2?

Hi Matt. Nice piece, and kudos for doing it yourself. I have one similar but I chickened out and had the Master do the work for me. I am intrigued by your crystal comment. I have chiefs AR and it's brilliant but I have wondered about the difference in optical quality. You have both so would you mind elaborating on the differences? Cheers, Paul

The date at 4 can't be fixed. The gen uses a 7753 movement which is different to the 7750 format used in these reps. It's an issue for me also and couldn't live with it so the only option is to chose a date at 3 model.

The 7753 is thinner than the 7750 so that is a good start. Would need a gen dial, date wheel issues, mm, don't envy your task Pete. Might be false value.
