Thnx R! I'll look again tomorrow. All I can see now is that the date adjust setting doesn't do anything that slipping the stem both CW and CCW and no setting wheel moving at all.
I have re-assembled the keyless works over and over again. Still the date quicksetting doesn't work. Winding works as does time setting.
It's like the stem doesn't push the sliding pinion far enough to reach the setting wheel and engage with the date intermediate wheel.
Hope somebody can tell me what I apparently don't see....
Currently I'm in the process of selling off some non-modded reps to finance a gen PAM111. Then I would have 4 gens and 3 highly modded reps. Enough watches and variety to fill up a whole week
However, in case of your Daytona collection and Ubi's frankens I think the time and research you guys have put in them adds so much value that selling them off for a gen wouldn't give that much satisfaction.
Basically it looks alright. As Chief said changing the day and date wheels + new double AR would be a big improvement. Also the marker on 3 looks a bit crooked, but that could be restored during a relume.
I think most dealers can source you a spare movement. However, when you have your original movement serviced (by The Zigmeister for instance) your watch is going to be a keeper for years. So probably no need to buy a spare movement (A7750 approx USD 125,-).
Very nice shirt, cuff-links and watch. But personally I would have left 1 of the 3 out since less is more. And who needs a watch at a great party where time is of no importance
Welcome to our little party! You've found a safe haven to protect yourself from scammers. Search, read, study and learn all about the specific rep model you like and don't forget to look into the collector review sections before you choose your dealer. Enjoy!
Welcome aboard! You'll find lots of useful information on both AP and Hublot here. Search, read, study and learn all about the specific watch you're interested in. Don't forget to read the collector reviews as well before choosing your dealer. Have fun!
Just to be clear:
- never ever shake a watch 'like a mad cow'
- if you handwind an 7750 (especially an unserviced one) do it very slow and gentle until the movement starts running.
- If you feel the slightest resistance immediately stop handwinding. The gears are probably dried out and your movement needs some servicing.
Welcome aboard! Read, study, ask and learn as much as you can about any specific bulky watch you like . Make sure you also read the collector reviews. Enjoy the ride!
