Last week I tried on a gen K-series PAM088. It seems like the CG have been updated as well and have the tappered shape now. However, the CG was polished and the lever was brushed. I'm not sure from which series of they changed it. Perhaps some of the experts can fill in?
@Dani: great project!
Then there's only one way to go: http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=221 (+cannon pinion upgrade). Add Superlume, remove the AR and it's the closest to the gen you can get.
Oh boy, so this is were I'm going to after just having bought a gen Link Chrono and saving for a PAM111 now.....
@Skool: I can see where you're going to with a sporty tool watch and a dressy evening watch. For just that little extra variety you might wanna add a PAM....
Indeed the only options are either a DSN dial or a standard rep dial from one of the other collectors. I'm afraid you're not going to find any gen dial.....
Good luck with modding! I'm sure you'll be happy with the result of all the mods.
Too bad he's not showing a frontal picture, so we can check the L Swiss L and the shape of the 2, 3 and 6.
Note that the fonts on the gen are supposed to be yellowish off-white. These look clear white as sandwhich dials from all collectors still do.
Also double check that the dial is the right color of black. Sometimes it's just the lightening, but other times DSN has slightly different and incorrect dial colors.
Exactly my feelings too. Over the last few years I've bought, modded and sold several PAMs. But every time there's that little voice inside me that points me out the flaws. Instead of enjoying the almost perfect rep I can only see the - minor - flaws. Thinking of buying a gen PAM111 now to satisfy the hunger.... Oh, and I'm broke too
Congrats with the new watch!
