  1. For the finishing touch this watch can use the updated DSN hands. I think he sells them for about $45,- already SuperLumed.
  2. Good to hear your PAM089 is finally back, Lani. And it looks awesome! Yesterday I succeeded in repairing the movement of mine, so guess what's on my wrist today? Did you put the standard 7750 Lello DW in it? The magnification looks so much bigger now..... Can't wait for my Lello DW to arrive.
  3. The first release had that fugly Times Roman font. The one I have has a better font, but I've swapped it for an ETA wheel As a bonus mine came with single AR which actually look quiet nice. @Iceberg: I love that Patek!!
  4. So I was right after all, but I don't think I would have known what a 'Sperrhebel' was .
  5. I've recently ordered 2 Lello DW's. So I will have to see by trial and error if it works better on the ultimate PAM164, the DVN-PAM088 or none. I'll let you know my experience as soon as the parts and the 088 are in.
  6. Amai, so I was incorrect, but actually very close....
  7. Normally I can read German texts, since German is a bit similar to Dutch. But with all these engineering terms... I just love the word 'Kronenschutzb
  8. Thnx for the background info! So do you think that upgrading with a Lello DW would be a further improvement?
  9. Wow, T, that's going to be an awesome pilot watch! I wouldn't mind replacing the numbers 3 and 9 for long markers as on the 3717 and BP. And when you make the subdial smaller it could be nice to make the 6 marker longer. Is the subdial going to be recessed?
  10. When you compare this cylops/date-combo to the ones on the new DSN 088/089 and the new 'ultimate' PAM104/164/229, which one comes the closest to gen? @Gianton: congrats with your new watch! Too bad that you need to fix the dial flaw, but apart from that it looks awesome
  11. Over the past 2 years I've ordered most of my reps from Precious Time (PT) and Pure Time (Angus). Although PT has an excellent QC and I can highly recommend him, 2 high beat 7750s turned out to be low beat after inspection by The Zigmeister. I do believe, however, that PT wasn't aware of this and simply got fooled by the factory. But irrespective of the collector, you'll never know for 100% what's inside your watch unless you're a watchmaker. Angus on the other hand has poor QC, but excellent after sales. Most of the reps I've bought from him had minor productional flaws (crooked markers, crooked hands, screws falling out of the movement, incorrectly installed Swanneck, scratched hands, wrongly installed stem). But he always corrects his mistakes by immediately sending replacement parts. Since I've learned to do small repairs and mods to my watches and Angus has lower prices and a wider range of products than the EU collectors, I'm really fine with ordering from him and I'm taking for granted the possible inconvenience of waiting for replacement parts.
  12. Unless the BP shows up unexpectedly, I won't buy any watches in the next couple of months. @By-Tor: when I compared my brushed Link Chrono with a gen at the AD window it occured to me that not only the pushers have a different shape/size and the crown has too few teeth, also the bezel is too big. Maybe it's modelled after an older version of the gen I'm unaware of............. Nevertheless it's still a gorgeous watch. Also mine was sold as a high beat 7750, but The Zigmeister found out it wasn't. Seems that most TAG Links these days only have low beat movements.
  13. "I just love it when a plan comes together...." Good work, guys!
  14. Although not the most accurate in my collection, my black Tag Heuer Link Chrono is the only rep that I would comfortably wear in company of gen owners. It doesn't look too expensive on me, TAGs are generally not under the suspicion of being fake and after The Zigmeister serviced the movement, put on his magic lume and swapped the date wheel, it emotionally feels as a gen to me..
  15. @TAG: what makes you think Tourby sells Chinese movements as genuine Swiss? These are serious accusations.....
  16. As far as I know Tourby is a legitimate watch manufacturer who builds his own designs. I don't see why he should not sell his watches on Ebay and call it 'Made In Germany', since that's where he produces these watches.
  17. I'm with Narikaa today Tag Heuer Link Chrono
  18. Hey Freddy, why did you use my wristshot?? LOL This must be one of the most beautiful watches ever made
  19. SUNDAY Tag Heuer Link Chrono
  20. That's a real stunner, congrats!
  21. Great project, T! I would be in for 2 x 7750 2.0 crowns, provided they fit the regular rep CG.
  22. After reading most of this thread there's nothing new I can add. Unless there's hard evidence showing the opposite, I tend to believe that it's more likely that assembling mechanical watches needs skilled adults than young kids.
  23. Sorry to hear this, Jay. I hope it works out well for you. Just one day before this post I've ordered my first DSN, the new updated PAM088. I'll let you guys know when it's in and post pics...........
