  1. dude if i had that seat i would build a base for it and make it my work chair...
  2. haha that is an awesome pic neil. you just made my day to bad it wont be here for my vacation, but now I will have something to look forward to when I get home. thanks for all the extra effort you have put in to this.
  3. neil that AP is hot. I think the orange makes it a bit trendy, but there is no discounting the the amazing design aesthetics of the watch. thanks for the amazing pics ps. what else did you bring back for us?
  4. Neil thanks for the amazing pics, but I would still stick with a noob with gen crown and tube... just cant get over the engraving.
  5. it is just as ugly as the gen. I went to my AD yesterday and the sales person was wearing it. he knows me by sight, and asked when I was going to bite the bullet and just buy one. I laughed and just kept looking at the pre owned. I hope this is just a phase with rolex, I wouldn;t mind the serial engraved on therehaut, but the rolexrolexrolex is just poor taste. its a tool watch, not bling watch... just my 2 cents
  6. ketel one on the rocks. or ketel one gimlet but only if its fresh lime juice, not roses. also enjoy hangar 1, level, triple 8 vodka from nantuckett mass. or for the special occasion vermont spirits gold vodka. here is some info on it. Vermont Spirits Gold is pure, delicate, unflavored vodka handmade in small batches from the sugar of maple sap. It is triple distilled and lightly filtered to allow the distinctive quality of the maple fermentation to come through. That quality combines a fragrant nose with smoothness in the mouth and a slight burn that delights the true lover of a vodka with character. nice thread. has made me thristy....
  7. Ive held a 2008 gen at the AD and I hate the rehaut engraving. For me, this is just another reason to build a vintage franken. I will be excited to see TTKs pics. I love his photographs.
  8. the crown guards on the new 16610 look like the ones on the SSD. interesting
  9. there are a few tudo chronos in boston for sale. they have doubled in price over the last year. I would love a snowflake sub. i just love them. great pics everyone, thanks for teasing, I mean sharing with the board.
  10. Wow, now that is an interesting post. Is your OTB rep, or modded rep it the best non gen availble? NO WAY, since the goal is a gen, then unless the rep parts are made by then gen maker then its not the best available. they are rep not a gen. to a WIS no rep is close to gen. end of story. But lets ne human here... I tend to think... does it make you happy to wear it? if so then who gives a crap... wear it and be happy. congrats on your purchase. and please, keep reading . there are some really cool and smart folks here. I actually get more enjoyemnt from thier posts then the reps i buy. I hope you stay, no mater what reps you buy. just remember its about the the watches, and your happiness.
  11. the difference with the ttk noob, is that it is not dropped shipped. i do wish he sold one with an eta though...
  12. I wore my noob every day to work for 6 monthes, not one comment. my bosses wear ebel, patek, seiko 5, cartier and some swatches. The people I work with are very visual people, designers and the like, and not once did they comment on the noob. Then I bought the UPO on a ss band, and a year later, only one co-worker commented on it. over xmas break i switched to the rubber strap, and the day I went back I had nearly every person in my office comment on the watch. most people commented that my "new watch" looked huge. one guy said "wow that is so cool, your watch doesnt tick. its so smooth man" it was a fun day for me. not one person asked if it was a gen. we will see if I get watch questions with exp II that is going to The Zigmeister. Im guessing I will since it has a "different" kind of face ie white.
  13. I paid $75 for mine from a AD. I told them that I loved the pro diver strap and I needed it for my seiko monster. they ordered it no questions asked. good luck. PM me if you want to know the AD I went to.
  14. @ttk, I had sent you a pm about my order, if you recieved it can you pm me back? Thanks!!
  15. That is a totally sexy watch... great pics too...
  16. Perhaps I will contact my dealer to see if he has seen a better fit on his new pieces. there are NO gaps at the sel, the shape of it is does not follow the case as it should, thats all. I totally agree that the ssd feels like a well crafted, expensive watch. and it is 90 gen OTB, 95% after mods. I just hope the next version is 95% OTB and 99% after mods.
  17. perry, you and I must have gotten different bracelets on our SSDs. the sel's look good, but are shaped wrong, the fixed links are sloppy when they break in (meaning wearing it 15 times tops) most of the screws are machined poorly, the midlinks are made of too thin gauge metel, man i cant go on. If i didnt love the feel of the ssd on my wrist (mainly due to the heft of the watch head)I would have sent it back because the bracelet. maybe on the ssdII they will get the shape of the sel correct along with the other issues. again just my 2 cents.
  18. I am actually thinking about asking The Zigmeister if the movement from my ssd would fit into my noob. I am already doing the other mods listed above. if it doesnt fit then I am going to unbrand the ssd. I love the watch as i said, but it is just not all there, if you know what I mean. just my 2cents.
  19. I agree with bytor 100%. the ssd is just not all there. it is an amazing watch in its own right, but it is not as close to gen as the "real" noobmariner. skype ttk, get a noob. go to ebay and buy a bezel from helfands, send it up to The Zigmeister, get the bezel installed, get a gen crown and tube installed, and a relume maybe and be done. then wear a watch that is very very believable. good luck and what ever you buy, wear it in good health.
  20. from what I remember, for a gen omega strap and gen omega buckle, that is not a half bad price. I can tell you that the one I sourced from PT for my upo need a tiny bit of work to make it perfectly fit. looks amazing, and makes the watch feel like a totally different piece. I have read here on the board that the gen strap fits perfectly with the upo with the supplied pins. I bought new pins (1.8mm) for my rubber since you need to stuff them in and they are a bear to get back out. I had to buy a bag of 100, so if there is a board member in conus that needs a set, I could mail some out. anyway good luck with your purchases, I love my upo, it is my daily beater.
  21. got ya. its an amazing piece, I am in awe of your collection. how is that expII from river working for ya?
  22. dluddy, of everything you own? really?
  23. hikeusa, i dont need a watch, ill just take your avatar with me for the rest of my life... how gives a crap what time it is if you have that...
