  1. Woooooww Admin Thanks!!! That was fast and the info on that website, even has pictures with it to explain.................. I'm grateful Thanks a lot!
  2. Hi 2u all , I'm still reading and learning............so wanna thank you for all the info that is present. Also haven't bought any rep yet, but the money is almost burning out of the pocket. However, I'm patient also considering all the hassle about methods of payments where dealers won't use PP anymore (maybe one of the Dutch members can give me an advise on whom to buy from and which method of payment can be used the best for that transaction,...............Thanks!) A question though (actually, this is my second ) that is still bouncing back in my mind..................... On several watches I saw mentioning: 17 jewels, 21 jewels, 25 jewels, also in German '20 Steine'.......... I still haven't figured out, what this means exactly.................. I hope that one of you can help me out on this quest........... Thanks a lot.
  3. Hi Thanks for your reactions.............it's much appreciated ;-) Cheers;-)
  4. Hi, I would still be interested to know, if and when your shipment has finally arrived. Might come in handy to know what the problem of the delay was, for future reference. Thanks and good luck
  5. Dear all, I'm about to buy my first mechanical watch very soon and for that I was told to buy a watchwinder to keep the watch running. Furthermore I was told that (and I read it on several topics on the internet) that such a watchwinder would prevent the watch from getting off of time and could prevent damaging when time had to be corrected manually. On the other hand, isn't it a fact that if the watch is not worn to often that it -the watch mechanism) will not show traces of (abnormal) wear. So I'm a bit confused here................... do I have to buy one to keep it running and because of that it could show signs of wear. Or do I not buy such a box and correct the time manually, everytime I want to wear the watch? Ofcourse I have used the search function but I wasn't able to find a direct answer to my query. If you know a threat that shows any conclusive answer, please let me know. Your help is much appreciated. Cheers ,
  6. Hi, .........and Welcome..........from a Dutch newbie. Happy reading! Cheers,
  7. Dear All, Thanks a lot for your answers and information. Again I've learned a lot! Have a nice evening/day
  8. Dear members, I have read and learned a lot in the last few weeks. This forum really rocks! I have a question for all of you experts........ Hope you can help me out here. I was wondering: - When does a REP needs to be serviced? - For servicing the watch, do I sent it to the REP dealer (the one I bought it from) or can I just go to my local watch dealer in town? - What is a reasonable amount of money that a dealer (online or local) may charge for service on the watch? I'm convinced of the fact that these questions might be strange to ask, but it is not my intention to offend anyone. I can only learn by asking, so I hope you'll don't mind! I used the search function before but was not able to finf the information I was looking for. Please accept my apology if the questions have been answered before and point me to the answer on the forum. Thanks for all your assistance Bye
  9. Hi 2U All, I bought only originals, until I was introduced to this 'new world' by a friend of mine. And I must admit: I am just impressed,............blown away actually about the watches I've seen here. The reps are top of the bill and hope that some of you can give some interesting tips. The watches that I have are originals from Maurice Lacroix, IXXI (2 models) and I have just bought a new TW Steel nr.13 (oversized models). However, these are nothing compaired to the watches I have seen on this forum. Since my friend showed me his Panerai, I'm a fan for life................ Hope I can learn a lot from you all. Cheers,
