I used to feel that way too...I quess it depends on what kind of luck you've had in the past. I purchased a pumpkin UPO from Angus with an swiss ETA 2824-2 and it would only run about 60 minutes at a time. I sent the watch to Zig and heres what he found
Omega
servicing automatic 145
cleaned/oiled/adjusted - timed 3 positions
all movement screws very loose - old version ETA STD 2824-2
movement was dirty - inconsistent oiling - some pivots dry - many flooded with oil
mainspring damaged - significant wear to plating in mainspring barrel - new mainspring installed
ETA mainspring part 30
mainspring fitting 10
stem too short - with crown full in stays in date-set mode - extender installed
only 1 end of each spring bars secured to lugs - new bars installed 2
bracelet bar holes don't line up with case lug holes - bracelet wrong for this case - spring bars customized to fit - both pins engage now
DW is scratched in a few spots
existing case clamps too thick-correct thickness clamps installed (3) 6
all old parts will be returned
I had it relumed while it was apart... So I dropped another $400 USD on it to make it run and look like it should have from new. Personally, had I known this going in I could have sold a few of the reps and bought a nice used gen.

There's no such thing as too much horsepower. It just takes more talent to drive it hard when you're balancing your traction against a brutal power curve.
Agreed my choice is an Italian Car with Detroit muscle and a German gearbox.

Most all cars have 4 wheels and some sort of propulsion, steering and brakes....you could argue that all they did was copy the current carriages that were in vogue. I'd say Henry Ford was the single biggest innovator as far as taking the fledgeling auto industry and making it mainstream.

I received mine a few days ago from Andrew. The lume is "ok" but not nearly as good as any of my Pams or others. I think they forgot to lume the pearl on these pieces. I will probably get it relumed if/when the movement needs serviced.

He did a SOH Chrono for me...Serviced the movement (it had quit running) and relumed the dial. Super watch now!!

Btw, you do realize the reason macs don't have that is due to limited popularity right? Recently however, as macs gain some market share, I've been hearing about viruses / malware targeting macs as well.
There is some truth to the "security through obscurity" statement. a
Another big reason is on a Mac, nothing changed unless you provide your root password.... While on the Microsoft os, if your running IE and navigate to a malicious site or open an attachment(which many do) will get you infected.

Not blind.... Open minded, I run windows on my Mac along with os x. I don't drink the cool aid either. I used to build and service pc's. I switched to apples hardware and would never go back. The majority whom try a Mac never go back to a windows box.

I understand and hear your arguments everyday.... Enjoy the malware...

I just don't understand why anyone would limit themselves to a windows machine... good luck. D.

Hello all,
I'd like to add a vintage gmt Pepsi to my collection... Andrew lists several different pieces. What's the general consensus ?
Thanks in advance. Dave

Hello all,
I have a 232 with an ass. strap on it. I'd really like to get a Panerai branded buckle for it, any ideas? I have asked Andrew and Josh previously about some parts and was told "no parts".
Thanks Dave

I bought a very clean pre-owned 45.5 with a 2500 movement. I thought I'd sell the rep when I received the gen, but..... I still wear the gen as an everyday piece.
I meant to say .... I wear the rep as an everyday watch

Been looking at gen planet oceans.... It seem everyone wants close to 3k on a preowned, in my opinion that's way overpriced. Reading WUS gives me a headache, where is one to go?
