  1. Nope, I just throw on whatever watch takes my fancy though with mainly a 1016, 16610 and a black 1675 there's not too much colour that needs to be matched.
  2. Any advice for then installing the next crystal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hey mate, My 1016 was made a while back and relatively on the "cheap" It used: - A jmb original case set (case, caseback, crystal, crown etc.) - yuki dial - predominately you hands (was my first build and I managed to destroy at least one hand in the learning process. - yuki bracelet Think that's it. Was a good learning project and I've worn the hell out of it since. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Current update, I've ordered s 116 Clark and found that in a weird design there is a friction ring and I've got it working better. Now just waiting on postage from the states before figuring out how to change crystal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi all, Today I ended up pulling out a long since worn cartel 1675 and have decided that there's no point in leaving a decent potential sitting about unworn due to the qualms I currently have with it. So I've done some rough research and essentially the two most urgent issues I would like to fix are the crystal (in particular the cyclops as it distorts crazily currently) and the bezel mechanism (which currently is ridiculously loose and doesn't much allow the insert to be positioned reliably). To solve the crystal I've heard of many replacing it with a clark's crystal but I am unsure as to which crystal would be used for a cartel 1675 and for the bezel mechanism I am wondering if any fix is even possible. Eventually no doubt I'll end up modifying it in other ways but these are the most urgent ease of use modifications and any advice from those on the board who know far more about 1675s would be incredibly appreciated. Thanks in advance, HaydenM
  6. Congratulations on the first build and a hello from my jmb 1016 which was my first build a couple of years ago now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Great to see you back Ubi, I've definitely missed seeing those pateks of yours around.
  8. Update: The watch is repaired after losing a single screw in my entire room and spending about an hour searching for it. Should be a good gift hopefully Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It's one of the old Zenith movements. I picked it up for a steal on eBay not knowing what size it was thinking that it was dirt cheap if it was a men's watch and still cheap of a woman's. Now I'll just have to do some movement work as it appears something isn't working properly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Update: Something, somewhere in the movement is screwed up now, so the movement is currently in pieces. This will be interesting haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Some photos of it taken apart: And of course the obligatory wrist shot:
  12. I'll be sure to do so. It has a very cute movement inside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hey mate, Thankfully I have found where to open the case back (just to state for the record there is a minute minute mark opposite the crown). Took it apart and cleaned up the inside of the crystal and most of the dial. Going to try to clean up the outside of the crystal now and should be ready to gift.
  14. Hi All, With christmas coming up I wish to give my mother the gift of a watch and have had a vintage Movado that I purchased a while back sitting in my desk for this. I am just wondering if anybody would have any idea how I would go about removing the caseback on this watch as I would like to give the dial and the inside of the crystal a clean before giving it as a gift. Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, HaydenM
  15. The Hulk has been taken down, the Panerai I do not know enough about and the 16610 could go either way.
  16. Yeah, crownguards are certainly not really meant for waterproofness unless you go smacking your watch against something underwater and sheer the crown off (which definitely can happen, my grandfather did it numerous times with him old omega on building sites). As for screw-down vs non-screw-down, I usually just use screw down (oysters) but there are plenty of watches without. Just don't go playing around with the crown underwater and you should be fine.
  17. Wow amazing build, wear it in good health.
  18. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get a MMM build one of these days.

    Real?

That's definitely a lot for a 2824-2, Have you tried looking for a cheap donor watch?
