  1. I KNOW! Initially i was glad that i did not bring my 177H along to the wedding, for fear of being called out! Now, I know that my watch was 100% nicer than his canal st special. I now realize exactly how convincing these reps of ours can be in the flesh. To tell you the truth this was the first SS "PAM" that I have seen with my own eyes in real life. The watch even appeared to have a bluish AR coating. The only other one that I had seen was a titanium model similar to the one I own. If i did not know that this gent could afford a gen I would have given it more scrutiny at the time. I was shocked when I first saw the picture that I posted, because even a NOOB like me could tell that it was a fake from a small grainy picture. I figured if it was that obvious i must have been missing something. I cant wait to add a NICE SS PAM to my collection now! Thanks to everybody who replied!
  2. Thats what i was thinking too after looking at the pictures. From a distance in person the watch looked very nice tho. I know this guy has the money to afford the real deal, so thats why I initially assumed that it was a GEN. Any other opinions?
  3. Hello All, Recently I attended a wedding where one of the guests was wearing what appeared to me to be a PAM 244. Once I got home and viewed this picture some of the details appear to be off (hour markers, seconds subdial placement & white date font). Can you guys help me ID this watch and tell me wheter or not it is a GEN? Sorry about the picture quality as this is the only photo I have. Thanks for the help! panerai.bmp
  4. Hey all. Thanks for the replies! spa - I haven't moved that screw in the picture it is still in the same position as when i got the watch, so far I have just given the "arm" a slight nudge towards the (-) position. I have had a busy weekend, so hopefully I will be able to get it fully adjusted next week. The daily wear suggestion during adjustment is a good one. I'll give it a try! Omega - Thanks for the Helpful link! Also, I got some silicone grease from the bay a while back, so I will finally get a chance to test it out on this caseback seal. I am hoping that this will do the trick, as i NEED to be able to wash my hands while wearing the watch.
  5. IT WORKED!!!! FxrAndy, Thank you so much for your help. You are my Hero!!!!
  6. WOW! Thanks for the super fast response. I will give it a try and report back here.
  7. FxrAndy, thanks for the help! Yes, this is an asian unitas manual movement. I will give your suggestion a try, and hopefully will be able to fix this by myself. Quick quiestion: What position should the crown be in when i tighten the screw? Thanks again!
  8. Hello, Today I went to set the time on my hand wind 177H, and discovered that I am no longer able to set the time. Usually I would pull out the crown and it would reach a "stopping point" from which I was able to set the time. Now the crown just seems to pull out all of the way past the stopping point, and will not allow the time to be set. What happened to this watch? and is there a way to fix the problem? Thanks for all of the help!
  9. 316L Thanks for the prompt response! RWG is the best. The tiny screw that you have circled is already as far as it can go in the (-) position, so It looks like I have to move the little arm more to the (-) position. does this piece have a name? How much do i need to move this arm in order to slow the watch down by ~9 minutes per 24hr period? Your help is much appreciated. TB
  10. Hey all, A couple of days ago I received my A21j Chopard, beautiful watch btw. Since then I have noticed that it has been running nearly 10 minutes a day fast! Attached is a pic of the movement in the watch (not a pic of my exact watch but looks exactly the same as mine). I have already checked and made sure that the screw is all the way to the (-) position is there anything else i can do to regulate this thing? normally i give my movements a break in period before i attempt regulation, but 10min a day basically makes this thing unwearable. Also, i noticed that the watch seems to have 0 water resistance, as the crystal began to fog up after about 4 hand washings! is there anything that can be done besides putting silicon grease on the caseback seal to improve water resistance? thanks for all of the help! TB
  11. Thanks for the responses. It does appear that the second hand was installed too deep. Unfortunately, the dial has already been scratched so having a watchsmith move the hand will not fix this problem. I will contact the dealer and see if he will send a replacement dial. How much should a simple dial swap cost?
  12. Hello All, Just recieved my first PAM rep today (177H) and I am loving it already! However, I noticed that the second hand appears to be rubbing against dial, leaving a half-moon shaped scratch. It is pretty noticeable at certain angles and in direct sunlight, the AR probably makes it even easier to spot. I can attempt to post pics later, as my batteries need charging. Is this a common problem, or did i just get a bad rep?
  13. Hey guys, I was checking out silix's web site and he has the new Casino Royale PO now! What do you think?
