  1. The thing that amazed me was that both Toad and I brouht SMP chronos, an Avenger, a rare Pam, and a vintage Rolex. All of us had a Rollie that had been touched by multiple RWG greats as well (yeah we're talkin about you Ubi). Again, great night!
  2. Bud we all comented on how much we would liked to have had you chrono avenger in attendance!
  3. Just called it a night. Great time was had by all! Thanks to HackR for buying beers, and b16a2, when you can make it to TO we'll schedule the next one.
  4. I'm sitting here with two 2009 award winners! Toad & Red, how good is that.
  5. I have arrived at the gtg. First one here! Toad should be here soon. Kinda like a blind date
  6. Wow 6.3 mil would buy an awful lot of reps!
  7. Its not on my wrist R, I thought I'd fake everyone out by rocking an Omega today Its definitely in my bag though!
  8. I'm easy mate, pick a place and I'll be there

  10. I've never really been one for statistics. Generally you'll find that the people that publish them will skew them in their favour anyway. Besides, I can tell when a site is slow, and I can tell when its hopping, I don't need numbers to confirm that. RG is a good site, and there certainly is plenty of activity over there. However, 90% of their posts are simply inane blabber, bumps, or "what he saids". Certainly nothing compared to the quality of the posts that we get here. You have to remember that RG is essentially a splinter forum of the "old" RWI, which in the day, reminded me of a kind of frat house. Sure, the conversations usually start out with some "watch" subject, but they would quickly desolve in to something totally unrelated. Plenty of posts, just not many about watches. RG has that same sort of feel. One thing I do admire about the admin team over their is that they are exceptionally quick to quash the uprisings, controversies, and drama. They run a tight ship, and the vast majority of the membership are happy, yet unaware of any rumblings. That said, people like drama, whether they like to admit it or not, and they certainly don't like to have their opinions suppressed. Maybe this is what led to the creation of the new forum? It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Anyway, my drama days are well behind me and I wish all the sites well
  11. Lol, read the story... Police seized 24,000 watches Bulldozers crushed 7,000 Still leaves 17,000 unaccounted for doesn't it?
  12. Guarantee every one of Philly's finest is going to be rockin a Rolie from now on!
  13. So long as they've got beer, I won't complain. The bar under the Strathcona is pretty quite and reasonably priced as well. Good drinking spot.
  14. When you think about spending large sums on reps, You would expect to get something that is almost indistinguishable from the gen, at least to the untrained eye. The rep The gen Now I'm not going to list all the flaws, there are jst too many to count. But, at that price you would have at least expected the Tourbillon to have been decorated with the VC cross as per the gen. IMO, if you are planning on spending that much on a watch, go for an unbranded Tourby, as a rep is not going to fool anyone and is just going to be looked down upon by anybody that knows about watches. BTW, you also have to consider who is going to service it if it should stop working 6 months down the road due to improper lubrication. You might end up with a very expensive paperweight in very short order.
  15. Anywhere on Front or in the theater district would be good. There's a nice place called the Beer Bistro over by me, but it gets a little crowded. Probably better to find a quieter spot.
  16. Good chance to come in to town and buy a new gen Dave!
  17. Its a quartz homage model. As far as the sliderule goes, it looks terrible. When the hash marks on the insert don't go all the way to the dial and touch the hash marks on the dial, its a dead giveaway. I can spot those as the cheapest fakes from 10 feet away.
  18. Breitling uses their own custom font on datewheels. The best and cheapest method for getting the proper datefont would be to look for a used Skyland V3 at a decent price, swap the datewheels, then resell the Skyland.
  19. Probably just another factory's version of the same watch.
  20. Looking forward to having you as an adopted Canadian for the summer mate! As far as F1 goes, it is shown on TSN (The Sports Network) across Canada. Not sure what your cable situation will be, but you should have nor problems seeing it. Don't forget the Canadian GP is in Montreal in early June. You should try and make it, its a great venue!
  21. Bezel rotates, don't worry. Ask for a pic where the date isn't about to turn so you can check how the font aligns to the window.
  22. Its hard to tell as the pics aren't that great. But from the looks of the pearl, I would have to say that this is a gen.
  23. Here are photos of all the new Breits released at Baselworld
