The SMP Chronos are all the same size. That's what it feels like though. Prolly just the size of my guns make any watch seem small. Know what I mean Lani ?
Naw, I feel the same when I look at the SMPs in the AD window. They just seem bigger than mine. Obviously they're not, but for some reason my mind just perceives it to be. Got it on now and it just feels "mid sized" to me, looks big on everyone else though.
So I'm in line at the bank today and I notice the guy next to me is wearing an old style SMP Chrono. On close inspection I notice the pearl is too low, it's a rep like the one I have. Thing is, the dude is roughly my size, yet the SMP looks big on his wrist. I always feel mine looks too small when I wear it. I guess my avengers are just making the SMP feel small, but why does it look so big on someone elses arm?
Again, my point that quantity is not always as important as quality. Victoria, at times very passionate about watches, often strayed from topic and cluttered threads with her personal musings. I think Twitter, where she posts now, is more suited to her than a watch forum.
Thanks, the pearl was the first step in the upgrade process. I've since removed it and done a little more work to it. I've also done a lot of work to the bezel since this pic, and the edges and markings are a lot sharper. The crystal is now the weak spot as it distorts at an angle and ha no AR at all.
Very easy to make fun of a guy who isn't here to defend himself. That said, I'd wish he'd have givin up dealing several years back and hung around here as a regular member. He was a very intellegent and entertaining guy, and his photography skills were amazing. His gen and rep collections were something to behold as well.
Anybody got a spare Skylabd crystal that they'd care to part with? I'd like to attempt to transplant it in to a V2 Chrono Avenger and am not sure if it'll even work, so I don't want to spend a fortune on this.
In the name of science, can someone help me out?
The navitimer isn't overly huge at 42mm. The SOSF doesn't wear that big either. What size is your wrist? Mine is about 6.75" and I can wear anything short of a Super Avenger or large Bentley.
Yep, the only visual flaw on this one is the date window. Not only is the datewheel sunken, but the window itself is a little smaller than the gen. Pugs is right that the sliderule is slightly off, but I've seen gen breits that have been just as bad. I like this model but feel that not being able to swap between steel, leather and rubber would leave me quickly bored.
I've me we owned a square or rectangular watch. Besides the santos chrono, there are none that I would consider either. Well, maybe if they repped the smaller sized B&R...
That's a beaut Lani, one of my all time favorite watches. Wear it well mate. After all, seems like you've been to the moon and back in the past few months
A little more research shows that the Calibre 69 is actually a quartz movement...
Specifications
Caliber: Breitling 69
Base Movement: Piguet MecaQuartz 1271
Battery Type/Life: 394/4-5 Years
Complications: Electromechanical Quartz, Rattrapante
Nice caseback as well. How often do you see a display back on a quartz watch!
Came across this a while back and thought that you guys might find it interesting. We all know about the legendary Chrono Avenger, the Titanium little brother to the Super Avenger, which has since been discontinued by Breitling and replaced by the Skyland. You have probably seen several posts over the years about the fantasy stainless steel Chrono Avenger as well. But, did you know that Breitling actually produced a limited edition stainless steel Chrono Avenger? They sure did! It was called the Chrono Avenger Sixty-Nine, and it looks to be powered by a Breitling calibre 69.
Enjoy...
The first two watches are probably the same (Eurotimez site is blocked here at work) but you are likely paying a premium with Eurotimez as I believe he is a european based dealer. The third link is not a Super Avenger, but a fantasy SS Chrono Avenger.
