  1. Nice watch, and I know what you mean about the excitement. My Skyland should arrive late next week and I just cant wait!
  2. Dave you gotta let me know when you are coming in to town when you buy a watch! Would have loved to meet up and see that beauty in person. Don't worry about a rep of that one. The movement in that one wont be repped in the foreseeable future, so I think you are good
  3. This one came from a certain unnamed member who was insisting that the DG4813 in the BR01 was in fact an ETA clone
  4. Don't be worried. It simply shows that your package has left China and is en route to the UK. This happens all the time.
  5. Thats a real beauty! What size is your wrist? Thats a pretty big watch, but it looks perfect on you.
  6. Great review! There are several Breitling reps out there that we very rarely get to see. This is one of them, along with the quartz colt chrono and the colt GMT that I'd love to see more of. Nice inexpensive reps that are very nicely done IMO.
  7. The $299 deal was yesterday (Saturday) I believe.
  8. Probably more that the rep factories are just afraid what might happen. The two have existed independently for decades, but I doubt that there is any written or verbal agreement.
  9. The PVD/orange Pam looks just amazing! Great work and beautiful pics mate!
  10. I'd say they make these mistakes on purpose to be able to distinguish between rep and gen. Imagine what would happen on eBay if they were to make a perfect sub, indistinguishable from the gen. We all know what happened here when the rep makers got a little too close with the Hublot
  11. Wow Lan, hope your Breitling collection will remain intact!
  12. Starting with the Chrono Avenger
  13. I'd love to see a vintage Navitimer like this Seems like a modified 7750 would fit in there nicely. An ST19 would work too as this is a manual wind watch, but the subdial positioning is more akin to the 7750. No date window to worry about either. I'm feeling kind of like BT. The only watch that turns me on is on its way to me as we speak. Beyond that, there is nothing on the immediate horizon.
  14. Welcome from Toronto! Take some time to read Toad's Noob Guide, its well worth it
  15. Yep, same watch, same price ($428) from all dealers.
  16. Never really understood why people invest so much in to a wedding if they cant afford it. I hate all that crap. When my wife and I tied the knot we had no groomsmen or bridesmaids. Simply my brother was my best man and her sister was her maid of honor. I bought a nice suit, my wife bought a dress, but we asked nobody else to buy anything. We invited all our friends to the ceremony but the reception was for family and only the closest of friends. I've been to many large weddings, but to a man, everyone said that our intimate wedding was their favorite.
  17. I prefer chronos not because of what they can do, but how they do it. Its an amazing piece of engineering that I find fascinating. Kind of like a vintage Ferrari 12 cylinder engine with all those carbs working in harmony, its just a masterpiece.
  18. Its such a fine line, ain't it?
  19. Here are the problems with installing a 7753 in this model: Hand size- Easily solvable Movement- The 7753 is much thinner than the modded A7750. Spacer ring issues and possibility of improper crown/stem alignment. Date wheel- The 7753 datewheel is slightly more outboard than the A7750's. Gen dial would be required. Given the fact that we have no confirmation that this rep would even fit a gen dial (and it would likely need a sliderule insert as well), I find it highly unlikely this mod would work. Unless someone with very deep pockets wants to prove me wrong
  20. In the Scottish countryside that he moved to? Unless Pugs has taken a liking to sheep and goats....
  21. I hope you are right BT. Rarely do you meet a guy with that much intelligence and knowledge. Wonder if he's run off with TTK to some place exotic ?
  22. The Chinese have only ever copied one chrono movement, the A7750, as far as I know. Sure, they have the ST19, but that is not a copy. If it is such an easy endeavor I am sure that we certainly would have seen a replication of the chrono movement used in the Omega speedmasters and POs by now. How about a decent seconds at 6 7750 for gods sake?
  23. Noticed that he hadn't been spending a lot of time on the boards over the past few months, but he seems to have disappeared completely as of late. Hope he's doing well and will return sometime soon. Anybody heard from him?
  24. Actually it's because a longer hand is more accurate for reading elapsed time. 5 seconds on a subdial measures about 2 or 3mm, but on the outside of the dial the same amount of time cover almost a full cm. The longer the hand the easier it is to measure the interval. More crucial when timing an event than for general timekeeping.
