  1. It is really surprising how hard "change" can be. As I get older I seem to notice how much things or places actually mean to me. Whether it be a pizza shop, barber, or drinking establishment, when they close their doors year worth of experiences, memories and friendships go with them. Several years back they opened a new arena in Toronto, and Maple Leaf Gardens closed its doors for good. I had attended hundreds of sporting events and concerts there over the years, each one with its own story an memories. The building is still there, and every once in a while I walk up there on my lunch hour and just mull around the place. Its amazing how the memories of days gone by come flooding back, just by being there. Good friends, and good times. Of course, life doesn't change, it just goes on. I still go to concerts and games, and still have fun with friends. But, when something goes away, it take a part of you with it, and usually that was a part of your youth. Happier times Sorry to hear about your loss Lan, its just time to make new memories.
  2. You can try manually running through the dates several times to see if it loosens up. I have a Planet Ocean that would only flip the dates half way several times a month. I used this method, which helped a bit, and after a few months the problem disappeared.
  3. No 4000 yet, just 2000 really long ones!
  4. Until we reach "The Zigmeister status" were all really Newbs aren't we? And seriously Sean, get some help buddy
  5. 2000 posts and still ticking!
  6. Firstly, start using your chronos, thats what they are there for Secondly, you can't judge somebody by a low post count. But, sometimes you can judge somebody with a high post count. The information that I gave was advice given to me by The Zigmeister if I'm not mistaken. It has served me well, and I pass it on whenever I can. To be called "ridiculous" for doing so is simply out of line. If Wombat had reason to disagree, fine, but at least give reasons for disagreeing. He was being a little rude IMO.
  7. Atta boy Taka, what a kind gesture!
  8. The problem is the hand is loose and is just spinning freely. It needs to be removed, and a small amount of epoxy applied to the back where the stem joins the hand. Then install the hand in the proper position and all should be well.
  9. Time your event. Stop. Then advance the second hand closer to twelve and reset. Not that hard. The funny thing is that I see and overwhelming number of guys that won't even use the chrono on a 7750! Suggest that you take a few seconds to preserve the well being of the watch and people freak out! BTW, when I posted the same info in another thread, this was The Zigmeister's response. So you have the info, do what you will with it.
  10. You are a bit of a fool my friend. A person with less than 50 posts calling a member with years of experience and almost 2000 posts ridiculous? A second hand is comprised of two parts. The hand itself and the stem, which is sort of riveted to the hand. Because it is extremely small and has very little surface area, the extreme torque generated by spinning half way round the dial is often enough to twist the hand on the stem. Do a search about chronos not resetting to zero! By only resetting from within 10 seconds I guarantee you will never have a problem. And btw, the above advice applies to gens as well as reps. But, Wombutt, feel free to do whatever the [censored] you please. Don't seek my advice next time you [censored] up your watch though
  11. Turns counter clockwise with 120 distinct clicks.
  12. Congrats Pho, just looked and I'm about to hit a plateau myself
  13. What has probably happened is that you tried to reset from too far away from the 12:00 position, and the seconds hand has spun because of the torque. There is likely nothing wrong with the movement, but it will have to be removed, and the second hand reset to its proper position. I have said it many times, never reset a chrono from farther away than 10 seconds. You will never have an issue. BTW, have you tried running the chrono and properly resetting since this happened?
  14. Nothing wrong with preferring Chronos CBR. I'm the same way, and only keep a selection of non chronos for using at the beach and pool. I wear chronos probably 90% of the time though.
  15. I never think of taking my chronos swimming. The SFSO or the UPO are better, safer alternatives. And lets face it, the chrono function is useless in the water anyway, so why bother.
  16. I'm very sorry Dave. What more can you say?
  17. ATV accident, not a heart attack. A real loss.
  18. My UPO with gen crown & tube winds as I'm screwing it down. The old rep crown did not do that, but the spring on the gen feels a lot stronger.
  19. What's not to like? The most versatile watch I've ever owned, and it looks just as good with a suit as it does a pair of jeans. No problems wearing it on the golf course, and I've cut the lawn with it on, without feeling silly. The matte dial has little reflection, the markers are big and glow well, as are the hands. All making for a watch that is easy to read no matter what the lighting conditions. No worries about water intrusion either, and this is the watch I always grab when going to the beach. Shiny bits? Who cares, when you use a PO to its full potential, those shiny bits would just get scratched to hell anyway. And don't worry about Daniel Craig getting bored of the PO any time soon, he will be sporting the black/white 45mm on SS bracelet in the next film.
  20. Maybe... until you try and order one
