  1. As to whether it accepts gen parts, I would doubt it on this one but am not 100% positive.
  2. Its kind of a hit and miss thing Rasta. All the BBs had the pearl slightly positioned to the left on the rider tab, but some are worse than others. They range from pretty acceptable to totally disastrous. This is one watch I'd only trust to TTK or PT to hand pick.
  3. I believe the bezel is gen, as is the watch. I'm pretty sure you could pick up a nice gen for the cost of the bezel alone!
  4. Man, you got it bad my friend! But, you do have a watch that without being opened, will fool anyone. I'm sure it'll give you a lifetime of pleasure for about a third of the cost of the real one. Also you can take pride in knowing that you put it together... with a little help from Zig!
  5. Rastaman, that is sweet. No way to tell that baby from a gen!
  6. Dave you are a madman! Awesome watch my friend. I know you live close, so I'll easily be able to spot you coming with that beauty!
  7. Rude to post new stuff without visuals, so a quick pic has been added!
  8. LOL, thats what I meant, "are YOU any closer to a gen?" Good luck mate!
  9. Sure does Pug, one of my favorites! Any closer to a gen btw?
  10. I'd be interested to know about the placement of the He valve. Breitling.com shows the SFSO with boxed second hand, but the He valve is at the 10:00 position, not at 9:00 like on our reps. Is this a new model? If so I would assume that all pointy hand versions should have the 10:00 He valve?
  11. On my lunch today I made a stop at the Breitling AD. Asked to see what they had in the way of straps and I picked out a Breitling black rubber divers strap. It was marked at $75 but with a little haggling I walked away only $60 lighter Anyway, I have it mounted on my Navitimer (I actually bought it for my chrono avenger but couldn't wait to try it out), and here are my impressions. The rubber is soft and doesn't seem to attract dust. It is fairly long, meaning on my 6.75" wrist, I'm using the last hole. So beware if your wrist is any smaller. The buckle looks cool but is hard to get done up as the back half serves as the first keeper, and its hard to bend the strap underneath. The keeper itself is very snug and hard to get over the strap. Rubber on rubber doesn't seem to slide very well Hopefully the rubber will soften up a bit and make it a bit easier to work with. On the bright side it doesn't seem to be attracting dust yet, and its fairly comfortable! EDIT, here's the pic!
  12. My old school Navi is accurate, but the current version is off. Even with accurate markings it is difficult to get an accurate reading though. The markings are so small that it is hard to determine if the result of an equation is 72 or 73 for instance. But overall it can be a handy tool when in a pinch, and a fun toy to impress your friends with!
  13. Moonwatch with correct crystal Old factory Avenger & Seawolf Pam 192
  14. @mez, good points! @92tru, from what I can see, there are many members that belong to this forum simply to monitor the sales section. This makes actually purchasing a watch very difficult. Have your money ready! As I said in my previous post, being quick to purchase also increases your risk of a bad transaction. Although resale prices have risen as of late, once shipping costs are factored in, a used watch can be a bargain. Models that have aftermarket AR, lume or gen parts are always more sought after.
  15. The thing that I find frustrating about the sales area is that it has become too busy. Fairly priced watches will sell in a matter of minutes, so there really is no opportunity to do any research about the watch or the seller. Sometimes the pics are bad, and requesting better ones is useless, because someone else will just buy the watch before better pics are posted. The other thing that I see a lot of is people selling used watches for higher prices than you would pay at Silix, WoMart, etc. Sure, the seller may have paid $300 plus shipping from Trusty several months back, and $250 may sound like a fair price, but other dealers may sell the same watches for $225. Also, there is no warranty with a new watch. A used, unwarranted watch should be 75% of dealer pricing at best. I know its not good forum manners, but sometimes I'd like to post in some sales thread that you can buy the same watch, new, for $50 cheaper!
  16. BTW, last post for me... I don't give a $hit one way or another. Neil wouldn't come back if you asked him, so the point is moot. I asked for this thread to be closed because Neil wasn't here to defend himself. That would be the honorable thing to do. Now that I try and take up his defense, I am threatened. So I'll walk away and let the smear campaign continue. as you were gentlemen
  17. @Yellowman- Admin twice lifted the suspension after lengthly discussions with TTK, only to have someone on the Mod team reactivate it. All I'm saying is that Neil is hot headed, and the admin team may have pushed him over the edge purposly.
  18. @TT, when this event happened I said that I would reserve my judgment until both sides were heard. I have now heard both sides, and in my opinion answers are still needed. I do not believe I have been rude or accusatory to anybody, I am simply looking for answers. So, is this how its going to be? Are you threatening to ban me for having a discussion?
  19. Don't really understand what you are getting at Ken? Are you speaking of PW?
  20. Come on Ken, I've known Neil for a long time. I'm a pretty decent judge of character. Give me some credit please.
  21. Ken, I am not an idiot my friend. And, I've been around enough to know that what goes on on these boards is rarely as it seems. I have heard your side of the story, and I have heard his side of the story. Also, I am quite aware of the relationship between Neil and the admin team in the weeks leading up to this event. Remember Ken, I was there. I saw the way TTKs relationship had soured in recent months with you, TT and BT. And, no matter how many times Neil tells a story, it is always detailed and concise. The story that the membership is being told seems to be swiss cheese in comparison.
  22. Ken, obviously if his account was suspended and unsuspended twice, the was a lack of communication in the admin team, and that the team wan not acting as a unit. We are not talking about a period of hours here, this is over a period of several days. Now I am aware that you fellows have your own little chat area, so I am sure this was discussed thoroughly. So where did the indecision come from? As far as the threat goes, I've heard it straight from the horses mouth, and to tell you the truth I've heard much worse. Especially considering you guys were in the process of taking away his livelihood.
  23. @TT, shortly after you stopped quoting that thread Neil went on to point out that after he was informed by PM that he was suspended, he only communicated to you and Admin via email or skype. His PM system was locked down.
