  1. Wait and see what your dealer says before you do anything.
  2. Not often that I see a Pam that really turns my crank (because they all look so good), but this one really stands out to me. Nice looking piece seraphe, wear it well!
  3. Actually, I've spoken with Neil about this one in the past, and it is in fact 48mm. Its basically a Chrono Avenger style dial in a Super Avenger case.
  4. Thats what I was looking for Pug, thanks. Actually this question was based upon my recollection of this photo. I had remembered it as 4 tick per second, but on close examination I can see 4 large ticks and 4 small tocks
  5. Does this mean that the second hand actually makes 6 or 8 movements per second? In other words does a tick and a tock constitute one or two movements of the second hand?
  6. Afraid not. What has happened is that the hand has slipped and moved on the stem (or whatever its called). It needs to be removed and reset. With my chronos I make a point of not resetting when the second hand is more than 10 seconds from zero. Sometimes there is just too much torque, and it spins the hand when you reset from half way around the dial.
  7. Well there is this one... even though its supposed to be Tantalium But for the true effect of titanium, no watch I have seen demonstrates the light weight properties of the metal better than this feather light behemoth...
  8. I guessed gen. Of course not showing the pearl, and being a straight S version made it tricky. The one obvious tell for me is the tops of the rider tabs. On the gen there is a curve to the polished part, where on the rep they are flat. Secondly, the surface of the bezel is nicely brushed with radiating lines. Finally, the numbers on the rider tabs are slightly more prominent on the gen. Fun though, I like games like this!
  9. Jeez, this ones been up for a few hours and I'm still the oldest. and it ain't even close!
  10. Just tuned into this one, so I'll throw in my two cents. A dremel is well worth the investment. I almost always will remove the bracelet and lay flat. For a heavily scratched strap I'll use a heavy duty automotive polish (red paste type). I'll smear this over the watch band, then with a wet polishing wheel I'll go to town. This will generally get you to 90% very quickly. I'll then clean and apply a brass and silver cleaner. Again, with a damp polishing wheel, I go over the whole thing. Another cleaning with soapy water, and possibly a once over with a clean, dry wheel. I pretty much dismantling as much as possible (Caseback, bezel, etc), especially on Breits as these polishes will mark the AR very quickly.
  11. geesh, I really would not attempt this if decasing a movement is causing you problems. Seriously! If you mist proceed, look for the stem release button (about a 1mm circle located very close to where the stem enters the movement). Gently press the button with a small screwdirver, while gently pulling out the crown. It should pull out quite smoothly. Then look around the edge of the movement for the three screws that secure the small clamps. Remove the screws and the clamps. Also, I'm not sure about this model, but on some watches there are small "extenders" that activate the pushers. When you remove the movement, these bits will fall out, so just be aware that they are there.
  12. ALthough there are often very old Breitling models that look a little sloppier than what we are used to, the subdial spacing and function indicates that this is definitely not a 7750 movement, and is unlike anything I have seen in a Breitling. Even with the terrible pics I have no problem calling this one as a fake.
  13. While on this topic, am I correct in assuming that a watch that has a beat rate of 21,600 bph ticks three times per second, whilst a watch that beats at 28,800 bph ticks four times per second? Obviously, if you do the math, it would be 6 and 8 beats per second, but does it take two beats to constitute one tick?
  14. Not sure which one it will be on Monday, but I plan on wearing these three all week...

  16. Really at this point I'd just buy a new dvd for about $30. Let the war play out and buy later. No sense in owning a $600 brick a year from now.
  17. Whatever the problems, I'm awed at your mastery of the dial Zig!
  18. Beautiful pics TMG, what is the location?
  19. Au contrare my dear Pugwash, how can it not lengthen the thread, and thus cause it to spill over into multiple pages? Is not the page length determined by content, not by simply the number of posts? Neither here nor there, what's more interesting is a recent encounter that I had in a small french bistro, when I had the incredible opportunity to be this close to Mr. Steve Jobs. Oh the time we had! Discussions of the next version of the iPhone were fascinating, and I'm sure he took some of suggestions to heart, and I'm sure you will be seeing them in V2 . As usual, I looked splendid in my nero jacket and black Planet Ocean
  20. Back to doing what I do best (needlessly quoting entire posts including pics, causing short threads to spill over to countless pages, increasing already painfully long load times), TTK, I am sure you will look stunning in whatever attire you desire. That Omega shall definitely make you the "queen" of the ball
  21. As tonight is the first event of the Canadian social season, I shall be wearing this one... and I'll look spectacular!
  22. BTW, feel free to lock this one up TT. The point has been made.
  23. Very common. In fact this is usually the cause of a non reseting second hand, not the movement.
