  1. I've conceded that I'll also take a grey themes if there are any around so let's see if Andrew can find me one of those lying around on the Noob factory floor!!!!
  2. Well Roger you are bringing me more good news! Hope they do make them again and if it's a few weeks then I'll just have to wait. i've always wondered how big these factories are and how many pieces they produce in a week?
  3. Thanks Roger That's good to know - re refunds and not the noob situation! Doesn't look good for me getting my AP really does it!
  4. Luiz - when did he tell you the black was in stock coz I literally found out about twelve hours ago. I haven't got an idea on stock times yet but have asked him so I'll post it here when I hear. If he gets you a Black and me a Chrono shall we swap! LOL
  5. z3ko - if that is possible and would solve the crown postion and date issues with the 2894 then it would still be something that I'd want. Movement doesn't have to be identical as the case back is solid anyway - so if this is a way of getting around the current issues then I'd be all for it for sure!
  6. Phil - I'm sure someone here can point you in the direction of someone who can fix that and in fact I am sure Andrew @ Trusty (is that where you got it?) would fix it too although I do understand that the process of sending it back and then worrying about customs for a second time isn't for everyone. Can't go around with a non working chrono my friend! Especially fort $500!!
  7. Meister - love your detailed answers as always and Edgematic it is interesting that you've asked for a low beat Diver and they've said no. But on the topic of the LWO watch needing to be a complete re-do - that's exactly what I want!! If they were going to charge $1000 for one then I guarantee that there would be at least 100 people just on this forum who would get one - there is no way that is costs $100k to sort this out. I absolutely want the case back and pusher placement sorted - there would be no need to put the clone movement in it otherwise. I really think they could make a lot of money if they did a super rep of this watch - how many of us have already stumped up $500 for an OK rep? This quest could become my life's work!!! Want to have my tombestone say I was the guy who got the clone LWO 283 AP sorted out!!! haha
  8. Hey All Just paid for my black themes and was getting super excited until Andrew @ trusty informed me there aren't any! Anyone else having this issue? I've asked him to find out how long until the next batch - as there literally isn't another watch that I want. I haven't gone down the refund route before - is it as torturous as I think it might be?? anyway here's to hoping there's a new batch in the big replica oven and that I can just sit tight. Annoying none the less. I did check before paying on stock being available but if any of you are thinking about pulling the trigger on one I thought you'd like to know and to really check that your dealer can get this at the moment.
  9. These guys will be able to tell you much better than I whether the Asian movement is any good but to my mind the pain in the [censored] factor of having to get it serviced would make the swiss movement worth the money. Which way are you likely to go? Do you have any other AP reps yet or is this your first?
  10. I get the impression that puretime aren't great at taking down links to older versions of their watches. My feeling is that the second of your links is the later version of the ROO and they simply haven't taken down the previous incarnation. I think that if you order then you get the latest version but best to make sure it is Version 5 that you ask for to be sure. In this case my understanding is that the V5 is the best version and unlike some other watches out there the older versions aren't as good. Hope this helps but it's only my thoughts based on looking through puretime before and seeing seemingly older versions side by side with the latest ones.
  11. Hi Vinnie I'm no expert but I always go for the Swiss movements where I can - just makes me feel safer about eh longevity of it. Although to confuse you more the one I have had no issues with at all and runs beautifully is an A7750 (not an AP Diver just to clarify) and that is supposed to be a nightmare movement. So i think it depends who made it on what day! can always get the asian and know you've saved far more than the cost of a service if it does go wrong for you. I tend ot keep mine for ages so again look for reliability but if you swap yours out regularly then you may have a different set of buying criteria. But for me I'd go swiss.
  12. Hi All Hope you're well this fine Monday! I've just embarked on my first AP experience by ordering a ROO Black Themes on SS Bracelet - I weighed up the minor discrepancies regarding date window and case depth etc and in the end I wanted one so I went for it BUT..... I would like to see whether there is anyone else out there who wold provide a market for the following two pieces. 1) - DIVER with genuine ETA 2846(? might have that wrong as it's Monday morning here - so don't shoot me!!!) low beat 21600bph movement? Seriously this already sits in my Pams so why can't it go in the Diver for the complete effect? I doubt it would even cost more than that Sellita? I would certainly get one if there wasn't the hassle of having to source my own movement and send it off to someone. Does anyone else agree? 2) ROO with clone movement. Again I would pay a pretty premium for a watch with the clone LWO 283 movement here, or even an ETA version as I am no expert but I believe these are available. Correcting the crown position and date window is a no brainer for me and this must be borne out by the fact that plenty of you have paid $$ thousands to rectify it with Frankens. If one of these was available for around $1000 - i would be all over it frankly as I don't have the contacts to start a franken and doubt I have the patience in reality. I have no weight with the dealers but I'm sure there is someone here who does so perhaps if there is enough uptake here then we can try and get at least one of these bad boys in the pipeline??? Who's with me? Cheers Damon ps I've just realised that the low beat in my pams is manual wind so this wouldn't suit but I'd still wager there is an automatic low beat that can be put in here that would be worth a premium to most of us.
  13. Still can't believe how much wrist time this gets. Not because it isn't lovely but because I didn't think it would be a good watch for work etc. Now I don't care and it gets worn much more than any of my other pieces.
  14. Kindred - that's a good call. Pretty much made my mind up now on a black themes ROO.
  15. Edge - are your reviews still live? As for not being worth the money - I'm not necessarily of that opinion it's just that there are other reps out there for other brands that I think are closer to the gens and cost less money. It's most likely because the AP is a complicated watch to rep. My real issue is that I haven't seen one of the ROO reps in the flesh and there are a few issues that people keep going on about on these forums that I expect not to be able to notice in real world use but the $500 buy in means that if I can then I'm going to be annoyed and not wear it most likely.
  16. Firstly this is a great review so thanks! Secondly how difficult would it really be for the factories to supply this with an ETA option at 21600bph? I know I'd pay more for it and I'm sure plenty of you would to. I'm really torn about buying a ROO which I know isn't the best available rep - and would so have gone for the Diver if it had that slower movement even though I had my heart set on the busier looking dial of the ROO. On that note Edgematic - I don't suppose you've done a similar review to the one above on the ROO have you as I am still undecided about whether they are worth the $500+ Thanks
  17. Roger - that Diver looks pretty sexy next to the ROO - it has really grown on me as a piece I have to admit. It is to my eyes a far better rep but I wanted a ROO so it's that age old question of go for the best watch or the one that you had your heart set on. Or go for both of course........ I am assuming that picture is of your watches so which do you wear the most of the two as that's usually a good sign of which you prefer?
  18. Just a bit of fun on a Wednesday afternoon (well UK time!) Wanted people to take a picture of what's on their wrist right now - mine was taken on my phone so isn't up to a lot of your professional standard! Rolex Deepsea for today. Over to you...........
  19. Inertia thanks for what is undoubtedly an informed opinion! I got a bit excited when Battler said the Diver was bigger as I love mine LARGE! BUt now you've questioned that so I'm back to the drawing board! Ha Were you happy with your ROOs or is the fact that you sold yours an indication that they didn't steal your heart! The diver is looking increasingly good and I would go for the steel strap as I think the AP strap is about the best looking available. I'd love to see some pics of your diver - who do you buy from?
  20. Phil - got any pics of it on your wrist or even better a close up of the face? I am yet to see how good the dials are on the reps so any help would be great. But more than that it would be good to see your piece being worn! I have to say that I don't like the cream dial on the Safari - I'm a Black Themes man all the way!
  21. Bertie - you raise a very valid point! My swiss time only watches are pretty bullet-proof! I'm really so annoyingly torn between the form of the ROO and the function of the Diver and I am really getting no closer to making my mind up it seems!!! May be time to flip a coin! Ha
  22. Roger. That makes sense. It's really the chrono I want. Are you saying that the ROO is good enough in the flesh that the little issues aren't that noticeable? It does look good and the dial does seem to be of a high quality.
  23. Thanks for this Phil. I will definitely ask! On your new topic how does the chronopassion compare to the stainless steel versions?
