I'm seperate from the mold of people who dislike AR and think it "Takes away from the gen"
I believe AR makes rep more gen-like than anything, nobody ever sees a killer AR irl and goes, "oh man that's so fake" it's the opposite, they can't believe their eyes at the quality
anyhows, to the point
Which dealer do you all think provides the rep with the best/strongest AR?
or are they all the same?
I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who've ordered pam's from multiple dealers as they can best tell which dealer has the superior AR offering..
anyone? anyone? hmm?
Look no further than Davidsen. His are the best, and I can attest to this first hand.

What should I do? I bought an eta 7750 to swap into my IWC GST ss, but I didn't find out that my GST has the 28,800 movement until now. I've been reading about how the second will not fit. My questions are: 1) Is there a way I (as a relative amateur modifying watches) can make the second hand fit, and 2) if not, is there anyone here I can send my watch to who regularly performs this service? i.e. The Zigmeister...
Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not only are they scammers, but the grammer on their website is horrible!

Would you say that this dial is the most accurate available at the moment?
There is no one blatant tell on the new davidsen dial, as there are on many of the other dealers' pam dials, but I'm tentative to say that this is the most accurate dial. It is nice though, for sure! And it comes superlumed, which you can't get straight from a dealer anywhere else.

This one looks better than some of the new 111's I've seen lately from davidsen. Cutouts are still too thick, and the numbers just have an "off" shape to them. L SWISS L is too bold. Overall nothing on the dial is WAY off, but the dial as a whole is still just not quite right. Not BAD though, not at all.

Hi,
I have been searching the forum for quite a while and cannot seem to find a general consensus on the comparison. Could the experts pls advice me on which one of the two is a better rep. I intend on buying the PAM from davidsen..
Thanks,
iD
They are both very different watches, but the general consensus is that the fiddy is the more accurate rep. Last I heard he was out of stock though....

Greetings Flav,
I missed out on your rad fiddy but I'm now wondering if this masterpiece of spare parts is for sale.
Best, Vlydog
I actually swooped this up over on TRC. It's on my wrist as we speak. Flavor Flav sure is the man for watch mods ....

In all honesty though, I think that if I had the money to afford collecting vintage racing cars I would probably just spring for the gens. I think that if money was no object, a lot of people on these boards would do the same. Thats not to say that I'm poor (although I am a law student which = huge loans), its just to say that if there was absolutely nothing holding you back from buying all the watches you wanted, why not opt for better quality, face to face service and extended warrantees?
Not trying to knock the whole point of your story, just pointing out the converse perspective.

Standard rep movement. don't know why you would even post this.
-
I dont like it either. It just screams CHEEEEESY. Bond would wear a tribute watch. Are we goin to start collecting lunchboxes too?
-
I'm sorry to hear about your bad experiences with davidsen. I just purchased his 055 so we'll see how thigns go. So far his replies have been reasonabley prompt.
-
Try "wrist". You'll get lots of posts, most of which are ignorable wristshots, but there are some gems in there for you.
"Wrist," yes I'll get wrist shots, but I was after a specific comparison between two watches. Anyways, I got it here so I guess the thread was worthwhile. Thanks for the pics by the way...
-
I just went back and searched again. I used the terms "comparison shots," "fiddy PO," "127 PO," "fiddy planet ocean," and "compare the fiddy and PO" and none of the searches provided anything useful. I guess I should have tried harder.
-
I searched, in fact, and found nothing. Maybe my search skills are lacking?
Again? Is the search feature broken? -
I'm curious as to which looks larger on the wrist. The PO I can pull off, but the fiddy I'm not too sure. Thanks in advance!

I'm hearing that certain models now come with the cannon pin flush with the hands. Is this correct?
-
If so what did you use and how did it turn out? I love my PAM bracelet but it seems like it will be difficult to polish because I have to avoid buffing out the brushed finish on every other link. Thoughts?
-
Since when does josh offer a full mod package and how much does he charge??
-
Sure it is.
Ok maybe it is

There may be hundreds of different rep models, but it was my understanding that the most accurate were the 036, 111, 177, and fiddy, with slight variations between the dealers. Does that narrow down the question at all? Anyways, this thread seems to be floundering. I apologize for asking too general a question.
You cannot.. There are approx 100 Pam models other more and others less accurate. It is impossible to gather all the informations for the vague question you ask. As simple as that.
But of course if you can you can gather everything that has been said for every Panerai model (plus the updated versions for each model) and you will gain the respect from all of us
-
the best PAM is the watch, wich you will like mostly
But the one I will most like is the one that is most visually accurate.
I've been on these forums longer than my post count would indicate. I'm not looking for others to do research for me, just thought it might be helpful for myself and others to have a thread with a general overview of pam rep accuracy.
-
This is not another "who has the best sub" type threads. Not exactly, at least. I'm just hoping that we can consolodate the pros and cons of various pam reps in terms of visual accuracy so as to evaluate how they really stack up against eachother....and against the real thing for that matter. So, all things considered -- lume, canon pin, dial font, movement finish, overall watch finish and quality, ect. -- taking it all into account what is the best of the best?
-
i always say its fake as nobody could possibly believe that 23yr old student could afford a watch that cost x times more than his car
but i love watches, cant afford gens, reps are only way to make dreams come true, so frankly i see no point in lying to ppl about it
That's why I dont buy daytonas and fiddys. I stick to the omegas and ocassional pam for now. They're much more believable -- not that I'm trying to decieve, I just think that they're more fitting for our age. (I'm 23 as well.)

may God look out for the two of you...... and good luck with your decision.......
Are you referring to my decision to go with the fiddy or my decision to practice law I actually find law school very interesting. Guess I havent been exposed enough to become jaded. We'll see...
PAM 082 Amerigo Vespucci
in The Panerai Area
Posted · Edited by justaguy88
Just wanted to correct TK471's remark that the gen 082 has no AR. This is not true. If you go to the Panerai official website and look up the stats on the 082, it lists the watch as having AR.
