  1. Hi, replied on RG, will add here more.

There was a beautiful Vintage Laureus Ingenieur release 3 years ago with correct DW font. Unfortunately this piece is also out of stock, but tends to appear more often on M2M section than 3227.

Also there were some rumors about 1 year ago, that rep industry might be repping newer smaller ingenieurs, but these rumors went to silence...

As for current models - 5001 is coming in 1-2months period, should be a well-made watch ;)

    Good luck!

  2. I really like the stuff they did with quartz subdial placement.

Very tempted to try one myself.

And even thought of one trick to solve the missing "automatic" word - water based decals that are used for for plastic models hobby. Print "AUTOMATIC" with printer on one of the decals - and transfer that on to the dial ;)

  3. I actually enjoy the fact that factories screw up with such big inaccuracies and therefore the sales are not going that great (after all the discussions on the boards). Maybe they will revise their pricing first, then later the design mistakes that found to be "acceptable" before launching for mass production.

I really hope they will get a lesson learned that You can't make up the price out of the blue, especially with so much flaws.

  4. Well You have a chance of getting one, but it will take time.

Me myself am a pretty good example.

Bought the 3227 with stock DW in somewhere June 2014.

After constant using of search box found one guy on Repgeek that had one 3227 with lello dw for sale about 1.5 year back (from now). Anyway his WTS thread gave a sign that he might wasnt able to sell it back then (stem problems), well right I was. He still had that watch. Although dial and hands were scratched, big ding on case existed, keyless was jacked and some of the numbers on DW were scratched/faded. Moreover, the dw looked like it was from the first batch (where few numbers had centering problems) anyway after short negotiation I made a purchase, so I have one lello'ed 3227 in my drawer waiting for a transplant :)

So, to conclude, after 6months of searching I now have one bad lello DW but I'm happy that I was able to dig some remains of rep business of 2010. ofcourse, time is not your friend here, so my advice look for whole watch coming up for sale with mods done (more chances than finding a spare dw).

  5. Bear in mind that all the dealers source from same factories more or less so they usually get the "current" version.

So my advice - ask a dealer for 5002 with faux PR and You will get the current version that's a really nice watch to have ;)

  6. Yeah P, I think that Super Shene is a type of acrylic lacquer. I've read a few online reviews and the trick seems to be adding it sparingly with a damp sponge, letting it dry, then buffing the shine back. Apply too much and the leather will become stiff and crack, ruining the strap completely. I'm gonna take the plunge today, it's available on amazon for a £10. Once i've received it, I'll do some before and after pix.

Great, thanks, let me know and best of luck!
  7. I have same problem. Bought a strap on eBay, seller wanted to clean it one last time with some shoe polish and f'ed it up for that matt look. Tried all stuff, vinegar first to clean that stuff, then some oils, waxes, saphir reptan - non of them helped. After few days on google- found one last solution that might work or screw up the strap finally- giving a coat of acrylic lacquer used for diecast hobby stuff. Although haven't tried it yet.
