  1. Thanks for all the advice. Needless to say I have tried to swirl it like a wine glass to no avail. I may have owned this watch for three weeks but I have only worn it about 5 days in total and treated it like it was a genuine Rolex. I am not happy about joining any disappointed Daytona owners club, if they are this unreliable why are they for sale? I will get back in touch with the dealer and see what he says or else I could try and find a friendly jeweller in the UK who could fix it for me. Thanks Niloc
  2. My first ever rep has just stopped for no apparent reason. I have had it for about three weeks and in that time it has kept perfect time. At 11.21am today it just stopped working. I tried winding it up, rotating it etc to no avail. I know its a rep, trusty 7750 with 28,000bpm and a lot of threads speak about the poor resilience of these movements, but I have never used the start stop timing function just in case and then this happens. It still cost £150 so I did expect it to last a bit longer, or have I been naive? Is there some secret to getting these watches to restart? should I ask my dealer for a replacement based on three weeks use? Any suggestions more than welcome Regards Niloc
  3. I recently bought a Daydate and the bracelet was tiny and no way was it going to circumnavigate my 8inch wrist. Perhaps the size of the bracelet should form part of the watch description? or is that a question you should ask the dealer at the time of purchase? or should I just lose weight!!!!!
  4. Unbelievably I had not heard of Breitlings before joining the forum, but now I am a real fan and I definately want one of those Bentley's. once I can afford it of course!
  5. I agee they provide a poor service but what do you expect when they pay their employees peanuts they get monkees for staff!!!!
  6. TTK needs to be applauded for his candour. IMHO
  7. My first watch was from Andrew and from ordering to arrival in Scotland took 6 days. A brilliant service in anyone's book. Cheers
  8. I use my Canon Ixus 700 which takes really good photographs in macro mode, but its lack of manual focus means you cannot take any fancy shots where you might want the front out of focus and the rear in focus. Nevertheless it still takes a good photo. I bought a cheap white lampshade from B&Q which I use for a light box works really well.
  9. The contents of this thread is causing my irritable bowel syndrome to kick in, some collectors like me will no doubt be thinking about stopping their hobby before they get caught. Perhaps the forum is too high profile at the moment and is too easily infiltrated by the opposition.
  10. "anyone can make a mistake, the trick is not repeating it" that's my favourite
  11. My first rep was a Daytona with secs at 6, despite the slightly choppy running it is an absolutely beautiful watch and gives me great pleasure. If the watch lasts 6 months or 10 years I don't mind as I will still enjoy looking at it. Niloc
  12. Thanks for tip, I got my Cape Cod cloth today and wiped the extra paint away easily. It was obviously just newbie nerves getting to me Ha! Ha! Regards Nilon
  13. Thanks I will give it a try. Niloc
  14. Having compared various photos of Joshua's, gen and mine from Andrew I have spotted what appears to be a black blob of paint on face of the bezel between the words "units & per" Before I speak to the dealer can anyone with more knowledge confirm whether this is an actual flaw? See attached photo Thanks Niloc
  15. Hey genuine watch looks pretty cool, probably best not to compare my rep too closely with gen so that I can continue to delude myself that I am wearing a replica masterpiece!!!!!. Just have to keep looking for the mythical perfect rep. Niloc
