  1. I ordered an SMP from Andrew and got it with no problems, no issues at all. Took a week and a half to two weeks to get here from the time I ordered it, but it arrived intact and with no [censored]. I'm in central Florida.
  2. My dad got it as a company gift from GTE (now Verizon) for 20 years with the company. The markings on the case back are a big "GTE" in the middle, and "Stainless steel case and back 955.132 water resistant 10 ATM" around the circumference (what does the ATM stand for, anyway?). It's clearly a knock-off of a Rolex DayDate, but does anyone know what the manufacturer is and what it might be worth? I'm not considering selling it or anything, just sort of curious.
  3. I thought I read a while ago, probably on here, that with the Swiss ETA movements, you can open the caseback and adjust a small screw in the movement to compensate for lost/gained seconds. My watch is gaining about six seconds every 24 hours, and I'd really like to adjust it, but I don't have a clue how to get the back off. I tried twisting with my bare fingers with all my might (which isn't much) and it didn't seem to budge. I haven't gone anywhere near it with any sharp objects because I want to make sure I know how it comes off before I go poking around with something that could damage it. Here's a picture of the back: If it pops off, where exactly should I slide the razorblade in to create a gap?
  4. That sub is freaking sweet. I wouldn't pay $850 for it, but there's not much in this world I would pay $850 for.
  5. By the way, I just happened to take these at around 1:50 last night. That wasn't intentional (and I didn't even notice until after I developed them), but it was a nice coincidence.
  6. It came in the mail the other day, and last night I got the chance to take some pictures. I shot these with my old Canon Rebel 2000, with the standard 28-80mm lens it came with (not great for macro photography, hence why they're not as big and detailed as I'd like them to be), on Kodak HD 400 speed film, and developed them myself last night (working at Walgreens has its advantages). I'm not sure why I resized this one so much smaller than the others. I must not have been paying much attention. On this one, I took a one-second exposure to try to catch the 8 second hand stops, but it just turned it into a blur. Still, sort of a neat photo. On my pathetically skinny wrist. Pretty impressive lume, as far as I'm concerned, though it wears off pretty quick if it's in the dark for very long. The most glaring flaw I can tell is the missing 3:00 hour marker (even though it was there in the picture on Andrew's website!), but I'm not going to fuss over it much. I love it. I'm not really out to fool anyone anyway, I just wanted a nice looking watch.
  7. ...and I'm psyched. It's my first replica, so I was considering going with a Beginmariner or Noobmariner, but I like the SMP a lot more than the Sub, I'm a little iffy about going too cheap because I want my watch to last me a while, and I figured if I was going to make an investment like this (I work at Walgreens for eight bucks an hour; spending into the three-digit range is not light shopping for me), I might as well buy something I'm going to really love instead of throwing $100 at a test-drive watch that I ultimately won't be 100% satisfied with. I already can't wait to get it in the mail, and it hasn't even shipped out yet. I'll try to post some pictures as soon as I get it.
