Still one of the best in my book

Nice, very underestimated pilot watch!

Did you find a spare HV?

Happy Holidays everyone,
I am aware this is not the right section but please have mercy :(
I am looking for a IWC Aquatimer GST (titanium preferably but ss is fine too). It's the chrono version with asian 7750 movement.
Please send me a pm if you have one for sale (even if broken with missing parts)
Many thanks!

It should be powered by a A2836. You can buy a ETA 2836 but you'd better check hands height if you want to attempt the movement swap yourself.
-
Get a gen if the idea of wearing a rep bothers you so much and , as kernow said, decide yourself if the gen is really worth the extra bucks and sell one, rep or gen.

It is not obvious at first glance but the course is actually free if you buy a start kit with the watch tools. With the discount on the tools it is actually very decent. He only sells quality stuff from Bergeon and the likes. Shipping was from Denmark so there is no customs hassle. I also was not quite satisfied with the collection of tools in the standard kit. But Christian was willing and able to put together a tailor-made kit for me. I know I sound like I am advertising but I am in no way connected to Christian. I am just a happy customer that's all.
Very good to know. I wasn't aware of that.
I might ask a tailored made kit for me as well.
Thanks!!!

Thx mate. Damned Apple auto correction.
Very interesting, thanks for sharing
I am gonna buy the online course as soon as the EURO gets stronger on the USD. Exchange rate sucks right now
Hopefully it won't take more than 5 years

Get it fixed and ask him a compensation or voucher for the next order

Couldn' agree more, PC was my fav website where to check new releases. It' not anymore.

They have the crown, but which tube would be compatible for the 3719 crown?AFAIK
Crown IWA11296
Tube IWA02171
Ask a confirmation to SW
-
3707 and 3719 have completely different crown I would be surprised if they had interchangeable tubes.
Why don' you source gen crown and tube for the 3719? Cost is probably higher but risk free.
-
That's a difficult task. I am afraid electroplating is the only solution, as you said the risk of rubbing the plating off is serious

bracelet is rep for sure. there shouldn't be any spring bar holes in the clasp portion of the bracelet. you can see two holes on the clasp, one on button release side, and the other on the flat side.
SEL Fitment is also garbage. I've had 2 3717s on bracelet and the Mk XVI, neither had the holes in the bracelet, not the poor fitting endlinks (which are solid, and dont offer much wiggle room).
My bad, you are absolutely right, bracelet is rep
-
Not sure if the seller changed pictures but it seems all legit to me.
The ss bracelet is not from a XVII but it might come from a UTC version (endlinks are thicker).
I am saying that because the fitment doesn't look perfect but it might be caused by wrong springbars too.

Mate, everyone here would advise you to quit your project.
If you are willing to create a franken, buy a IWC TG powered by A7750. Those are the best and a perfect base for a franken IWC.
-
Do you really wanna invest big money in that rep case?
-
Always a beauty! I believe that's the most beautiful AT ever.

Well, gents. Looks like the bracelet in the auction is the correct size and at ~$240 is quite a steal for a GEN IWC bracelet that retails for $1900. I got lucky on this one but my 3719 is now on a bracelet and really transforms the watch. Everyone who says it looks better on a bracelet is a 100% correct.
That was a bargain.
Post a picture!

It's an easy upgrade but you need gen date wheel too.
No doubt gen dial is the big step up.

Look for a gen dial on eBay!

I love IWC, but these models have nothing for me. The design looks clunky and unimaginative. The aquatimer series is the big miss in the portfolio.
Totally agree.
The new Aquatimers are so much disappointing for me too, despite being fairly accurate (AR can be fixed easily, the wrong wording in the caseback is not a deal breaker for me).
Someone posted a picture on RWI and the diameter seems to be spot on (42mm, like the gen).I wish they repped properly the old 3719 instead.
