  1. The ones with lower price (compare to the EL's price) comes with a older 7750 - has been confirm on another board. Just an FYI. So I thought maybe they fixed the date wheels issues here.

I could be wrong though. For those bought the 3717 under $300, your input will be great.

Yeah looks like you are correct- I checked my EL 3717 and it DOES have the new hi beat 7750- While the other reps seem to have the older version- interesting.

Absolutely no AR on mine though...

    My version runs dead-on accurate...

  2. well I have not "come around" people just like to take my pointing out flaws and run with them.

Ironically, my watch has been at us customs for 2 1/2 days. Never happened before with any order, usually scanned and out of there in 30 mins according to tracking. I had a feeling one way or another I might never seen this watch.

oh well.... i'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yeah same with me- But relax-

I doubt IWC has a standing injunction with US Customs like Rolex, Panerai etc.

It's not a counterfeit watch- It's a watch misapproriating someone else's registered trademark. If you had a steamer trunk full of them even if it's a new brand that no one had ever heard of- they'd confiscate them because then you were in the business of importing counterfeit goods.

Custom only can get involved at the port if you are "Smuggling"- So if the documents say "Childs toy" and there's a wristwatch inside- they'll bill you (And me) for the retail value of that item- so we'd owe several hundred dollars in tax or admit that it's a replica which may or may not get it confiscated.

    Probably just slow customs.

  3. I would say that chad's behaviour is very similar to what a lot of us believed one time, even though we may not like to admit it. What I've learned after so many years of business study, is that people want the same product, but by paying the lowest possible price, provided even if they could afford the more expensive article. When they get the item, they fool themselves into believing that this "bargain" item is the exact same as the more expensive product, and they expect it to perform the exact same operations, have the same quality, when they clearly do not.

This is exactly what we're seeing here in the replica world. People see genuine watches they like, but either can't afford them, or want to pay the lowest possible price for a substitute that comes close to it, and when they get it, they want the exact same quality as the more expensive, $10,000 item, but of course we know inside our minds that these items will never be 100% perfect, especially in the context that they are made either in mass production facilities or are made by people who get wages 1/10000th of a Swiss watchmaker.

A simpler way to explain all of this is, people just simply don't realize "You get what you pay for". Except in this case with replica watches, we get a WAY lot more for paying maybe 5 cents on the dollar then you should with electronic items, etc. but of course we will NEVER get something that is exactly the same as a genuine article.

    Lesson done.

Yeah but Chad's not wrong really- If we were all buying $50 Canal street stuff- Like the Silix cheapo stuff then we'd have no reason to [censored]- They'd just be costune jewelry for men.

But at $200 or close to FOUR HUNDRED bucks which is what this IWC costs a lot fo people who bought em- you really should expect a pretty frickin clean piece. I mean that'll buy you one hell of an Ipod or a 32" HDTV LCD TV or a Garmin GPS. So I think the $400 IS well spent on this IWC- It'll look bitching, and my experience with the new 7750's is they're pretty reliable. If I get a couple of years out of it beautiful- A Gen would need a servicing at that point for aorund $500-$600. Instead I'll throw mine away and buy the latest and greatest rep.

And yes both of my gen 80's Porsche design Orfina watches both have the crooked Day wheel.

  4. I can only speak on behalf of myself, but I have no issue with your critisism of Eddie or any dealings regarding watches you have bought from him in the past that have problems. The forums are for open discussion, if they were not they would lose 95% of their value. When you get a watch that you have a problem with and the dealer does not make good, posting an appropriate bad review will help everyone (and hopefully will put pressure on the dealer to change).

The only thing that irritated was the datewheel issue. It's a known problem with the day/date Asian 7750, the original gallery pics showed the problem and some gens have it. I didn't feel personally insulted by your posts and I apologise if you felt personally insulted by my posts, that was not my intention.

Remember, these are just fake watches (although obviously there is money changing hands). Sometimes we lose our perspective!

Wel you know- they're not "Fake" watches.

They're real watches, which are built to be near identical replicas of "Name" brand watches. Strip off the logo and you could sell any of these watches on ebay for double or triple what we pay- all day long.

Gen watches have issues- plenty. ALL mechanical watches have issues, period. I have had my gen Tag, Omega and Panerai watches serviced within their warranty period due to things like date wheel stuck, running 12 minutes slow a day, second hand falling off, rough grindy winding mechaism etc.

Any product made in China that is a fraction of the cost of the "Name" brand will be a lower quality item.

If you want to buy one good watch and wear it for 20 years- I think Tourneau is a better starting point than Wo-Mart.

  5. I did not specify when I ordered but the photos all had stainless bracelet......

    ?

Do they all come with both?

    Chad

Yeah i asked EL and he gave me a price for both straps- I just want the "IWC" buckle and will put that on a quality strap.

The watch looks so industrial it might look cool on a Panerai strap nothced to fit??

  6. Wow looks good- Strap not making it for me but Mine is ordered with strap and bracelet.

For the dates- I find on these it's better to set them a day or two short and then cycle the hands through till you hit the correct day/date setting- that seems to center them fairly well.

EL communication glitches notwithstanding- I'm excited to see mine this week!

  7. No hurry- never the issue- It takes what it takes.

I inquire about the watch- PM in TEN MINUTES.

I ask about price- Email is ONE HOUR. I ask about adding some other items- Email in ONE HOUR

Up to the second I send payment he answer quickly.

One second after payment- he ignores you.

Persistent emails?? Four emails over four weeks. I've bought nearly 50 reps, and even the really bad communicators eventually let you know what's up.

I paid- Made sure he got the right address- no reply.

Let it slide for two weeks- emailed asking if he had the right address, and what's up with shipping time- No hurry.

7 days no reply- i email again, nothing- Then I post here. He emails tracking, and confirms the wrong address- oh brother.

So no big deal. Never feared he was ripping me off- not sure where you got that from. It's just this ridiculous defending of these dealers- as if you had met them and they were your friends. When I send my money off to some Canadian guy in China or some Chinese guy in Canada I would expect just the normal courtesy- "Got the dough, watch is delayed, hang tight." Is that TOO MUCH to ask??

Hope the watch is cool, and hope EL fixes whatever problems are bedeviling him.

  8. Well my tracking # indicates the watch just shipped- So should see it by end of the week or early next week.

Never a doubt that EL would come through- and for those who are cool with ZERO communications then good for you.

But I hope the watch is great, and good luck to you Eddie.

Since I have other vendors who deliver both wuality goods and excellent communication, I'll vote with my feet.

  9. My goodness Chad, please stop whining, we heard you the first time.

And at first it was a fair and valid point, "please improve communication", and you made it.

Now, it appears to be obsessive bitching and is reminiscent of the where the acc's BAP and WAB were coined from. It's old and tired.

I'm going to pull into my psychic abilities here and make a prediction: We will hear more complaining from Chad. Ohhh, the challenge is on

  10. Finally got some emails from eddie.

Here is a quote from eddie when I inquired about a tracking number and why mine has not worked in over a week.

"it will go and click , and bling."

oh ok....now I feel better. :) I cannot believe i worried about it.

It took 15 exchanges to get him to admit when he said it was "forwarded" but if i asked if it has shipped he will not answer. He will only use the word "forwarded" and took a long to time to admit the date it had been "forwarded"

During the beginning of the conversation he kept saying friday(he would not say which one) and then when i got him to give me a date it was not a friday.

Tracking is still dead and eddie refuses to use the word "shipped" only forwarded.

    Same here-

But he has found time to update his Photobucket account- just won't give me a straight answer-

If its delayed- FINE- just tell me.

  11. @promotersf, i'll back you up on this one. i've been really frustrated lately. not because of delays in communication from our dealers or waiting on a special project (i'm also waiting on a datewheel for my 63), but because of all of the members who have been bitching lately about how bad they have it. threads like this just bring down the morale of the forum.

maybe we should have admin start a special forum called "the venting forum" where people can go and vent about how frustrated they are about waiting 10 days (10 days!!!! the horror!!!!!) before getting a replica watch sent from the other side of the world or how their tracking number isn't working. that way people can have their pity party along with other folks who feel the same.

@chad, based on this post, it has been less than two weeks since you paid EL for the watch. are you really concerned that you aren't going to get your watch? if so, that's one thing. if you're just frustrated about the delays, all i can say is that we've all been there -- really excited about a particular watch or project, and anxious for it to arrive.

Yeah but that's not really fair-

EL respods within MINUTES when you need to pay him, then after he has the money he NEVER replies again. Ultimately a watch shows up and everyone just forgets about it. Regardless the situation- that's basic disrespect for his customers.

  12. He may well have an issue that is out of his control. He once had a whole batch of watches seized by customs on his end. He, of course, made it right but it did take a week or two. Or he is simply traveling for his day job. He can be on the road for up to a week at a time.

Yeah but wherever I am in the world i always can send an email- Especially since he's holding thousands of dollars of ours- Can't leave people with no communication for weeks- I know he's seeing my PMs- so why won't he reply??

  13. If you're talking about Aquaracer, are you sure it's the same guy, as he says otherwise.

Hey how did I get thrown in here-

No I only have the Aquaracer screen name here and at RWI-

Any other posts are not by me. So i hope it's not ME that he's referring to.

And why would a rep owner blast other rep owners on a gen forum- doesn't make any sense
