  1. I think it is a scam.

A watch with absolutely the same features, reability, defects, materials and productions difficulties as some other great reps, done by the same manufacturers, with the same guarantee, with the same lack of spare parts as those other great reps, but asking 3 times the price can be named just as scam.

You want to buy it? that's up to you, and it is ok... you will be gratefully and pleasantly scamed and i will enjoy a lot your wrist pics :)

    .....

I hope that reps have a progression of quality, and this progression = high prices. Why do you hope for a Navitimer 65% real for $ 250 ? I prefer a Navitimer real for 90% for $ 500

    .....

A rep very very good for a raisonable price ($ 500 1000) I think that is loved for a grat number of us

Do you not sell a GMT whit real ceramic bezel and enormous improovement of parts for $ 600 700 ??

I prefer, as you the best quality as possible, 99% accurate reps, that's why I only buy watches like a Baume&Mercier Riviera for $300, like a Chopard MM XXL grey S. Ed. for $400, like an ultimate BCE's for $300, like a Corum Admiral's for $300, like a deWitt Academia for $400, like an IWC Ingenieur for $250, like a Paul Picot le plongeur for $300, like a Porsche Flat6 for $300...

... like so many other reps wich are, at least, of equal quality to HBB's, but at a third of their price.

  2. I would contact your dealer because of that minute hand. Probably it can be easily repaired if you are skilled, but I wouldn't take the risk myself in such a nice watch.

I think he should send you a replacement if he is one of the good honest guys.

  3. Doc, I found myself this is the kind of budget I usually feel comfortable with.

There are many nice brands with nice watches under $4,000 but all them are usually not the kind of finish, technology, design or status which makes me happy now.

I have/had also some watches/reps wich are cheaper than that, and are very nice indeed, but with the years I have already increased my level of "exigence" in that respect and feel happy only with those "special" or "rare" timepieces.

Your example about cars is a wonderful one wich reflects how someone goes climbing in life and then finds there are some minimum quality or status requirements after the years..... so I had an Alfa Romeo, then an Audi, then a BMW, then a Mercedes, and now I find myself with a Lexus... and honestly wouldn't like to have anything less than what I have now :D

You know, when all we start in this hobby, every new rep is a "I want it" ... but then with time all we realize some of those watches are just found somewhere in a booth... now i Know I want just those watches that I will really enjoy in my daily living, and I already learned they have to have date, deployant clasp... and a minimum "status" :D

Have to agree with you about the size, so.....

    8. Case has to be no less than 42.5 mm. and no more than 45 mmm.

  4. 1. I have to like it.

    2. It has to be, at least, 95% accurate to gen.

    3. It has to come with date.

    4. If band, has to come with deployant clasp.

    5. It has to be different enough to any of my previous watches. In example, if silver case/black dial, and I already have one like that wich already satisfies me, I pass by the new model.

    6. If also from a brand I still have no watch, that's a plus.

    7. Gen has to be no less than $4,000.

  5. So here is what I'm thinking.

    1. UPO already has single AR. Will double make that much of a difference?

    2. SMP - gen doesn't have AR for this model, but AR would make the textured waves on the dark blue dial pop.

    3. MBTW gen has AR but the silver face doesn't show much reflection anyway.

    4. Porto - white face, doesn't have much reflection either.

    5. Carrera - like SMP, gen has no AR but the black dial with no AR has so much glare it's annoying.

What do you guys think? What experiences have you had with these models? Thanks!

    S

    1. Double AR makes a HUGE difference... you can't believe it until you see by yourself. THIS, IMO, is what you should do.

    2. Actual SMP do comes with double AR. This would be my 2nd. option, as dial pattern is so beautiful.

    3. Not reallly like this watch.

    4. Same as previous.

    5. True, gen has no AR, so no sense to make it. Aren't these reps, so they should be as accurate as possible to the gens ?
