  1. I picked one up for my daughter a while back.(25 yr old)

Within 1 month she had cracked the bezel insert.(I UV glued it together again)

The crown would no  longer screw down after about 7 months.(I don't think she ever set it after I set it for her)

Less than 1 year in her hands and it was not worn every day.

My daughter may just be hard on watches. :g:

P.S. It still runs and sets fine.

  2. Best wishes for your daughter Nanuq.

My daughter is a wildfire tech(fire fighter) here in Northern Ontario, her crew has been put on alert, for possible deployment in Alaska.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for a safe future for both our daughters.

  3. A hard question to answer, all my reps are in rotation and don't get a lot of wear. I have12 or so now. (have owned around 25)

I am also quite careful when wearing them and leave any rough activities to my gen Deep Blue,G Shock or Luminox type watches.

I have not had a failure yet.(touch wood)

Mind you I have never kept a A7750 movement watch long enough to have it fail(several Pam GMT's)

Never bought any A7750 chronos either.

My longest owned rep is about 4 years, and is one of my most accurate timekeepers.

    An Omega UPO.(Swiss movement)

  4. To OP, are you sure your insert was clear/painted plexi?

All the reps I have seen have had the wrong type insert made out of aluminum.

I don't think the original bakelite insert is available, or would fit the rep bezel if you found one.

You can get the aluminum insert from an ebay retailer.

Here is mine with a couple mods.

( I hope we are talking about the same type watch) :g:

In any case, good luck in your search!

  5. I for one like the simpler older PAMs. I would love to see their newer models with the rotating bezels and funky dials, etc... Be part of a sub brand child. Kinda like scion is for Toyota.

Their in-house movements are getting better, but some of their "modern twist" designs are blah.

Stick to what you know and has persevered. Your bread and butter should not be messed with. After all, they have survived for more than a few decades sticking to their roots. Just my HO.

Sorry to disagree, but their roots were withering.

Very few liked Panerai prior to the early 1990's.

    The company was going bankrupt.

Stallones promotion and Richmounts purchase is all that saved them.

I think the balance is swinging back there once again.(but not as far as bankruptcy)

These days there will always be someone to buy them,as people bought Studebaker and Edsel.(just not enough)

The fandom in the rep world exists because you can get a rep very cheap that is virtually a clone of the very expensive gen.(and may continue even if gen sales drop)

As far as in house movements go,they have yet to be proven over decades of use.

  6. Sorry, I know that!! Living in the south, I'm surrounded by Amphibians and reptiles. A Gator is a reptile right!! And Fried Frog legs are? Delicious

I am supposed to forgive your lapse, when I am living in the frozen north of Ontario Canada :cold: where any living amphibian is 4' under the frozen mud in the creek behind my house, and you are living in the SOUTH. :sun:

    I think not. :g:

    Enjoy your fried legs.

I would need a case of dynamite to blast down to any frogs in my area.

  7. If you aren't the feckless frog, welcome to the forum,  :welcomeani: if perchance you are then be gone you knave before you feel the edge of the sword against your reptilian neck!! :frog1:

Hate to correct you, but the lowlife feckless frog is an Amphibian. :frog1:

There's no need to slander innocent Reptiles. :nono:

Oh, and welcome to the forum "Me82". :clap2:

  8. What is your explanation to PP going to be?

The supplier sent a fake, fake?

You open a dispute with a rep watch involved and you can have YOUR account frozen if they decide you were knowingly purchasing counterfeit goods via PP.(and their going to know, $100,000 watch for less than $1000)

If no TD's from any of the rep forums can supply what you want, IT'S NOT MADE.

A non TD is going to send you crap or nothing at all.
