I have fun modding my skx to make it unique. But trying to spending 1/6th of the the price of buying a submariner on a replica is just too dear. The watch will never be reliable as a genuine rolex and you'll be forever noticing the flaws in it.

Considering you can buy a very good oris or sinn watch for $1000 I would rather pick that option.

  2. Hi

I think squale, kiger, ntk etc are just overpriced. Kiger touches $1000 for a complete submariner knock off. It's a bit silly paying that sort of price for an unoriginal design, I'm sure the workmanship is excellent and all that but come on, for that some of money you can get a completely original swiss watch from a respectable brand like hamilton or oris.

I was more thinking of black/grey market watches like parnis which will sell you direct from china for £150 tops (around $180). Or better sub $100.

  3. Hi

I'm looking for a sterile dial submariner to buy, im guessing parnis. Unfortunately parnis is so varied and differs so much from seller to seller that I have no clue where to buy from.

I'm not into reps, I have cleared out my rep collection and gone into seiko, oris, hamilton etc. But I do love the submariner look especially the smaller 40mm versions.

Anyone know a source that makes high quality reproductions?

  4. The seiko monster (my daily) has left me with dark marks on my hand as the crown pokes inbetween my wrist & forearm. Basically digs into my skin.

Looking for another confortabkle seiko that has a better designed crown (perhaps on the left than right) and is simple (date & time only, no chrono)

I prefer auto movement ofcourse, not kinetic.

    Thanks

  5.  The Sisu or the Lum-Tec

Then you have the Storm, The TechnoMarine, Prometheus, Jorg Gray, Orient, Dievas,  I mean it goes on and on... :) I could list more but  why not just go to the watch blogs and watch review sites like Blogtowatch etc as these list brands known unknown and new etc

Here is a link to those sites mate or rather some of them :)

    http://www.invesp.com/blog-rank/watches

I aint sure why you think Stowa is $150 they get much more expensive than that... most come with decorated Swiss movements ;)

thanks for the watch blog list, they'll be useful for content network ads - to be honest I'm not too hung up about the bidding on competitors names - the CTR is poor because the searching is obviously looking specifically for that brand so it's not a highly effective target. But if the competitor brand is close enough - it may just work. I'm just going to go for the most well know competitors maybe just 15-20 of them

Stowa: where I am - I see very little stowa watches for sale in google shopping. maybe it's the bias in my geographic and not many are sold here. I see maybe 3-4 used stowa watches beinnd solid fro $150 to $300. maybe the retail for $1000, I don't know. In any case the competitor brand has to be well known enough (like tag heuer, rado, victorinox) that it has lots of searches - as in thousands of searches every day.

  6. Ocean7 Helson Zinex Armida Mkii Lumtec Bathys Benarus Boshett Dievas Magrette Stowa This adds a few...

a true watch afficianado I see.

The trouble is to make it worth my while to create competiting ads for these brands and monitor the ads in future, there has to be sufficient volume of traffic for them. A lot of these are not very well know and have very little presence in Google sdhopping which leads me to think they're not very searched for,

ocean 7 - little web presence (LWP)

    helson - LWP

zinex - LWP (only 1 on google shopping)

    armida - LWP

mkii - comes up as a model than a make (tawatec mkii, tng sailmaster mkii etc)

lumtec (seems like a little known watch fan watch (PAM homage) - wouldn't be suitable for my use.

    bathys - LWP

    benarus - LWP

    boshett - LWP

    dievas - LWP

    magrette - LPW

stowa   - mostly $150 (too low end)

  7. Hey what about Invicta!!??? They have some really nice Swiss Valjoux movements for around $1200. That new SubAqua Noma V is the truth!

some higher end invicta do go for that price point, but the average price is $300 for them

Ok time to come clean. I'm a PPC freelancer. I help businesses advertise on bing and yahoo and google.

I'm doing work for a swiss watch company, which was pretty interesting being a watch fan. So I was trying to hide the big grin on my face when the client called with the enquiry.

I'm going to bid on the clients close competitors. so when the a user searches for a close competitor on the search engines - my client's ad will come up. So it's important to get the "competition" right. Not too higher end and not too low end - just right.

I've shortlisted these close competitors: One of them is my client, guesses will not be entertained, so dont bother. What do you think?

    accutron

    esq

    gucci

    hamilton

    movado

    nixon

    nomos

    oakley

    oris

    rado

    revue thommen

    tag heuer

    true

    victorinox

    wittnauer

seiko - most go for $150, so wouldn't be right market.

citizen - is slightly lower end, some do fetch near the $1000 mark but most are $300 range

  8. Ok, monday morning, got a lot of work to do. I replied on a business forum on a $40 rolex rep thread.

Some guy wrote "the best repicas come from Italy". I wrote a flippant response "yeah I heard the streets of London are paved with gold, seriously where do you guys come up with this crap, all reps are manufactured in China, no country can have high quality reps, they have both high quality and low quality, it's not about the country you buy it from but the DEALER you buy it from".

So another guy respods with a bet. I can prove to you a swiss made 100% 1:1 replica exists.

    here's his response.

I will bet you $10,000 you're wrong. No BS. A real bet. I will post a link where you can buy a swiss made replica watch and you will donate to the vault $10,000 and agree to be banned if you don't pay. If I can't post a link where you can buy a swiss made watch I will donate to the vault $10,000 and agree to be banned if I don't pay. I would never risk my membership here, or my money for that matter, but you're so confident that all watches are made in China... I think BAR NONE were your words, that you shouldn't hesitate in accepting this offer.

Oh, and I will just leave this here...

    www.fv-skialpin.de/db_pics/1/grade1truths.pdf

An insider look at the replica market. Not one mention of China. Although he does mention Japan and Swiss made. I wouldn't call this hard evidence, just some bathroom reading material for your consideration. I saved all the silver bullets for when you accept my little wager =-)

Just because your not aware of something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Rolex is very agressive in protecting it's brand, so the high-grade manufacturers don't let their ass flap in the wind like most the low end dealers so they take a little more effort to find.

I have bought a 1:1 replica so I know for 100% fact they did at least at some point exist. I don't think it's far fetched with the equipment and skills available in Switzerland, that someone wouldn't put those resources to work to create exact clones of expensive watches. A better question would be, why wouldn't they.

Tiger most of your posts are good, so I don't know why sometimes your brain gets a blue screen of death and you post something like this, lol.

    My response.

I'm a replica watch geek. I'm happy to take the bet.

    [removed response]

before I actually post my case, let's establish the termss of the bet.

You post a replica watch "swiss made" LOL. That 1:1 exact 100%, not near 100% or 99.9%. Like 100% real that will fool dealers, even if they open it up and look at the movement.

It will have a 100% authentic anti reflection coating without the blue tinge

It will have the real water proof rating according to spec, just like gen.

And everything else. I don't have to actually list the specs because well if it's 100% then the spec is there, set by the original right..?

  9. Ive had my eye on this watch for a long time. Looks so nice

http://www.1-pc8838.com/rlsdph00088-hunter-deep-black-asian-3135-p-8062.html [click the link twice, first time will forward you to homepage, 2nd time will direct you to intended page]

I noticed that a lot of people love the ss dssd, but nobody seems to go for the pvd option.

What are your thoughts between the rolex clone movment and the eta, hands down i will always go for eta, but is the eta movements from deailers even legitimate? If you werent concerned about replicating the internal parts of the watch which movement would you go with?

Is the pvd watch as accurate a rep as the ssd? How does the PVD last after a few years? i dont mind some of the sharp eges revealing the ss metal, it migght even add character to thewatch, what i don't want is the pvd coming off with the slightest rub against another hard surface.

Lastly is this watch here the same as this but one just has a pvd bracet on and the other has a nato strap? The pictures make the watch look very different, i intended to get the bracelet, but am i right in thinking that the bracelet will end up looking aweful after a few years, especially the clasp?

  10. no thoughts on this watch??

I'm thinking of buying from perfect clones. pc link

to view the page you need to visit the page first to get the iplogin and then revist to land on the target page

It has two option chinese movement and swiss movement, surprising at the same price, how is that the case? I know that swiss movements are more expensive, and all things being equal the swiss movements would be the way to go. ANyone know why the swiss and chinese movements are the same, and which is the best one to go for?

  11. I had my eye on some of these rolexes for quite some time, was never a fan of those old school rollies, looked a bit industrial and boring, but they're making some flash watches for footballers [soccer] and investment bankers, and they're a bit more up to date and modern looking now.

I really like the pvd [black] rollies with high gloss/ceramic bezel markers. What's the best model to get and who are the best quality reps out there for the watch.

Doesnt have to be a seadweller but this looks fantastic. Also how are GMT reps? do they have working GMT and ar ethey stable? Even the gen GMT seems to be a bit dodgy looking.

  12. I bought a BCE v2 graphite with lello datewheel. It's one of my most favorite watches, however at the moment it's unwound sitting on my shelf and hasn't been worn for over 4-5 months right now.

I stopped wearing it after I tried to regulate it as it was running a bit fast, the more I regulated it the oppositre effect was happening, and I foolishly adjusted the beat adjusted underneath the regulator. So the watch went crazy and started giving me all sorts of time.

So I stopped wearing it. Obviously it needs professional care right now, for someone to service and regulate it, and I was wondering whether Id be better off taking it to a rep friendly watchsmith to service the a7750 movement. Or whether I should just buy another one and use the current watch as spares.

    What do you think?

  13. the accuracy of this entry level movement is pretty damn good. Much better than what I could get out of my A7750 movements.

When i first got the watch it was 30 seconds slow per day, and a bit of prodding around, and waiting for results after 24 hours I managed to get it down to a few seconds.

watch time	=	comp time	difference

    18:03:00	=	18:02:56	+4

    21:48:00 21:48:12 -12

    00:19:00	=	00:19:15	-15

    20:28:00	=	20:28:12	-12

4 days later still -12 difference which means there is an agrregate 0 daily gain/loss!!!

recorded from the last 4 24 hour periods.

Difference is between the computer time and seiko monster time each day. it's not the -/+ gain per day, but rather the general difference between the times.

The watch is consistently behind around 12 seconds for the actual time, so IMO it's pretty damn accurate right now. Because the 7s26 is a non-hacking movement it's not possible to get second hands bang on, and nor would I want to on a mechanical watch.

  14. Yes, they've been around for a long time, but I though they disappeared a long time ago too. I've worked out for a long time... since high school (uhh, although I've taken a 2 year layoff recently :( ), and have never seen them in any gym I've ever trained in. Not once. Not in any Gold's Gym. Not in any 24 Hour Fitness. Not in any college gym. Nowhere. I'm just saying that it seems like all of a sudden they're "back" and in vogue. Hell even Jillian Michaels is marketing a set of adjustable kettle bells. 3 years ago, they were basically nowhere to be found. What gives? And if kettle bells are so great, why did they disappear for so long?

I believe it's all down to money, gyms can cram a place up with all these isolation movement machines like bicep curls, pec deck, chest press, leg press etc. Trainees can work out just a few metes away from each other. The apparatus prevents accidents and keeps the place in order.

So what end up happening is that multiple trainees can work out concurrently on a machine, basically swap seats between sets, you only have to adjust the seating and the weights by pulling out and re-inserting the pin.

Compare that to kettlebells. Some guy doing kettlebell swings with 30GK. You better keep your distance, at least 3-4 minutes from the front.

As people work out their hands get sweaty and these kettlebell ballistic movements become more hazardous.

Kettlebells are more dangerous to have if people work in close proximity to each other, and utilisies much more floor space than isolation muscle machines. And lets not forget that it's very easy for anyone to buy some kettlebells and use them at home. So the gym is probably reluctant to use them as people get hooked onto kettlebells and decide to spend the years gym membership fee on some home kettlebells.
