  1. Do you guys [and gals] know of any reputable rep communities for sunglasses and perhaps fashion in general. Thinking of buying a pair of sunglasses for the summer that look and function like gens (proper UV, lens that allow you to look through them fine, instead of masking everything with the colour of the lens). Something more dedicated than repgeek would be preferable. Also, if you don't know a rep community per se, but know a good retailer who sells good reps then feel free to let me know. Much appreciated total
  2. In most cases servicing a A7750 costs more than to buy a new watch with a 7750 movement right? So in this case servicing a A7750is pointless?? Correct me if I'm mistaken, thanks
  3. Thanks, I didnt open it to fix it, just to see what part came loose (guessing that perhaps the fall made a cog or something fall out of it's place. didn't see anything apart from the stationary winder. Just got lucky, fiddled with a few things, gave the watch a good shake and it came back alive. Very lucky here I think, it's the second time I had a 7750 fall out of the locker and break, I think from now on I won't be wearing an expensive watch to the gym, I guess sometimes we get a bit careless with the reps. I don't think if I had a genuine BCE I would wear it at any time other than special occasions, I only have reps in my collection so will be buying a cheap DKNY watch for the daily grind. Thanks for the heads up
  4. Some good news here, not sure wheter this good news is for the long term or prone to go away. I opened the breitling caseback by grinding my thunbs on the opposite side of the caseback, and slowly but sure it pryed loose. Opened up the watch, didn't see any loose broken parts, but did notice that the small cog that moves back and forth very fast (winder I think) was not moving at all, poked a few bits and bobs, resigned and defeated, screwed the caseback on, and left the watch on the desk.. Worked out that I had spent
  5. Really upset, watch slid out from my gym locker, and fell to the floor, 2nd time this has happened. This time it fell from the mid level lockers a grand total of 1.5 feet. approx, still the 7750 did not like the fall and stopped working. Immediatly after the fall I picked up the watch to see if it's working, the second hand was still ticking, so I smiled to myself thinking I made a lucky escape, checked the watch again 15 seconds later and it's not working, checked the chronograph as well, and found it to not work either. Nothing seems to be moving inside apart from the rotar, no clanking sounds or anything else. Cant check inside as I dont have a breitling caseback opener, anyone able to diagnose how bad the damage is just from the above descrption? I'm in the UK, is there anyone I can send the watch to for repairs? Karim
  6. Complete noob here, would like to know basics, such as which camera to buy, etc
  7. imagine the customs trouble dealing with counterfeit watch and conflict diamonds
  8. Not sure what's going on here, haven't heard from Joshua about this either.
  9. Thanks for the links ken. I had a look at the site, it doesnt return any results for the tracking number I have. I'm guessing maybe it's late in recording and updating the tracking information on the site, and will be available maybe 2 weeks belated after it's be received, repaird and sent back. I've emailed Joshua just now, waiting for his response. Not hoping for miracles, because I know Joshua is ususally top notch with communication and would have emailed me straight away after he received it.
  10. Hi Dani, php4 is not the same as cpanel. I'll try my best to assist you along the process via pm so that you can do this yourself and hopefuly learn how to do it along the way. Ideally you should have cpanel stated as one of the features of the package, if it does not then it probably doesn't have it. Which company did you register with?? I think hostgator is a good cheap feature packed web host. If you let me know which company you bought the hosting from and which package I'll look into it. Thanks Karim
  11. Where do I find china post?? google turns up a chinese newspaper site.
  12. Who delivers registered mail in guangdong??? I sent a watch back to joshua for repairs, via registered airmail, with appropriate customs declarations, from the UK. Royal Mail tracking says the item has been passed onto another company for delivery in china, but won't say which. I've checked EMS and the item is not registered with them, posted it on 22nd today is 27th going on 28th so far. Is there another company which deals with deliveries in china other than EMS??
  13. I would take this offer up, but really I'd feel like I was stealing candy from a baby and feel pretty bad with myself because the task at hand is so straightforward.
  14. If you get a web hosting with cpanel feature with fantastico capability, then you're pretty sorted. cpanel is a backend control panel tool for your websites, and fantastico is a module in cpanel which allows you to installs several difference web software like forums, content management packages and shopping carts. A one click option will install oscommerce for you, it's simply a matter of you sorting out the back end stock and writing content. if you can use a forum, then you can pretty easily use cpanel and fantastico.
  15. also the 21j movement sounds like a rattle... it's so loud!! Had a 21J in my PO that I sold off, it had a solid metal caseback so the rotar noise was tamed a little, this with a glass caseback is simply out of control!! probably not a good idea to pleasure yourself with your watch hand, wearing this, as it may disturb the neighbours..
  16. The rep scene is pretty crazy, you can build yourself a lamborgnini with a kit costing less than $40,000US Search for Replica Lamborghini on youtube for more
  17. Bought this for $108 from Joshua including free shipping, I guess he's probably trying to clear these out to make room for higher quality reps, only bought this because I needed a temporary watch to wear whilst my Chronofighter Diver goes back to Josh for repairs as I broke the lever. Not too impressed by the Chopard (well this rep rather than the original design), the colpurs are a bit off, the outer dial is white and the inner dial is a greeny pearly colour, it looks silver sometimes so not too sure what that's about. On the website it looked like a consistent creamy colour. it a nice simple piece, that Id probably wear as a beater, may even wear it to the gym, as I need a watch to wear that I don't mind to the gym and then wear it to bars n clubs straight after. The rubber strap attracts a lot of dust, which is totally different to the Graham strap, which is perfect. The Graham was $300, and now I realise truly what you get from a rep you pay $300 for. It is really worth paying a bit more to go that extra mile.
  18. Pressure testing for a watch is about
  19. Hi andreww I want to buy the montebrilliante legende complete white dial, there is no complete white dial legende on the breitling website, would it be fair to say that the reps that have that colour, are not accurate? http://www.breitling.com/en/#/models/navit...rillant-datora/ This is the Datora which has the colour scheme I like, steel watch with white dial, but it has too much going on the clockface for my taste, prefer the legende writing and subdials (only has 2 rather than 3)
  20. A quartz probably has more soul than a mechanical.. Since a mechanical simply unwinds itself to run like a toy car. A quartz actually has a pulse, something like thousands of times per second, and has an electric current running through it, much like the human body. In fact the human body is closer to a circuit board than an intricate mechanical system If I hasd some spare cash I would fork out on this quartx baby http://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-Sports-Analo...MTD-1054-1AVEF/ check out the reviews..
  21. Is the sunken datewheel the only issue?? I thought the chronograph units where all wrong and positioned differently to the rep. Sorry, I'm not a big on the rep knowledge, but I do buy watches and scrutinise them to death, do lots of research, and end up regreting making the purchase. So 'm hoping someone can spare me the heartache.
  22. I prefer not to buy a rep, and have work done to it, as it always ends up costing more than just buying a good quality rep from a good dealer. Subject and sub-subject pretty much sums it up. I've seen many dealers sell the MB with false subdials, which are embarassingly bad, even with a $300 price tag. Anybody had any luck with buying a good rep, or know any dealers who sell the real deal. thanks
  23. 24 here wearing the graham chronofighter as my one and only. Got a Chopard GTXL on the way hate Rolex's and Omega's with a passion.
  24. I bought a chopard 21j asian movement for joshua, to wear whilst I send off the graham for repairs. If I like the chopard I'll keep it, otherwise I will sell it off as soon as I get my graham back from the factory. I think for $108 chronograph watches you gotto be kidding to expect a good quality rep. I know that even some $300 chronograph reps have really bad subdials that are all compltely wrong. But if you got for a simple watch with no chronograph and simple bezel (like the chopard gtxl) you *could* get lucky and land yourself a pretty convincing rep. A lot of people buy the Omega Plant Ocean from Narika, because it's a pretty good rep, not a hard fead given the simplicity of the design. The problem with chronographs is that almost all chronograph reps used the a7750 movement, and the problem is that some Gens have 30 minute chronos, some ahve 60, some are layed out different.. And it costs time and money to customise the movement, so they don't bother and change the subdials layout in the rep
