  1. "Every time I thought that was that... It called me right back..." I used to spend quite a number of hours here. Met some pretty cool people. Learned a lot. And of course, bought some watches. I've been out of the game for a while but recently I've found myself being drawn back in. So of course I have to come back to where it started for me! Hoping some of the cool people from back then are still around and that this place is still as awesome as I left it. 😀
  2. Need some expertise. Came across this cheap little Chinese number on ofrei (DG3836-4D). Ignoring the subdials being day, month and 24hr, could this be used to temporarily replace a broken 7753? http://www.ofrei.com/page1119.html#20673
  3. Probably recruited a watch expert to do the lot. I know these aren't what they always wear. I know I've seen Wenger in a Portugieser Chronograph quite often.
  4. For the fans who, like me, watch press conferences and pay attention to sidelines just to try and see what the managers are wearing. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4071652/Sean-Dyche-Premier-League-clocks-45-000-watch-Bob-Bradley-ran-time-Swansea-week-donning-40-timepiece.html

  6. I'm with most of you who replied here. I've always said that people who really know watches are few and far between. I've seen so many people who claim to be "watch people" but think Michael Kors and Fossil are expensive luxury watches. I've worn watches that have caught their eye, yet they don't recognize the brand when they see Tag Heuer or Breitling or Montblanc. I know this not only because i see it, but because when I first got into watches I was like that too! As a child I thought Rolex was the end all and be all of luxury watches. When I began to learn how deeply the watch world went, I started being disgusted by those "watch people". That's why I only wear watches because I love them. I couldn't care less who knows what's on my wrist. I stay out of watch conversations. I don't make an effort to show anyone my watches. I will accept a compliment, but it ends at thank you. My watch is for making me happy. Not for impressing someone else.
  7. All of these pics are great... but Diseno ....
  8. Funniest thing I've read all day. Well done!
  9. I have to say... Of all the smart watches I've seen, this one definitely looks the nicest.
  10. http://www.hodinkee.com/articles/my-thoughts-on-the-tag-heuer-connected-smartwatch-by-kevin-rose-video I don't mind it, but I'd much rather a "real" tag.
  11. I have never seen this complication before. I love it. And the mechanics behind it. So simple. http://www.ablogtowatch.com/cartier-cle-de-cartier-mysterious-hour-watch/
  12. Hey guys. I recently ordered a replacement off eBay. I will post pictures later. Shipment was really fast from China. Around 2 weeks to CONUS. Packaging was great and they included a small springbar tool and many replacement spring bars. Now onto the quality. The look of the strap is very good. However, as soon as you feel it, you know it's a lower quality rubber. It is much harder than the one that came with the rep and much less bendable. As a result it is less comfortable. The clasp looks good too but feels flimsy and does not give u a convincing, smooth lock. This might get better with more use. The fitment was also an issue. The strap took me about a half hour to get on. The holes do not align with those in the lugs and so the spring bar had to bend significantly in order to get in. Also, the curve of the rubber around the case does not fit flush. So now there is a visible gap between the case and the strap when wearing the watch. Overall I give this a 5/10. Good enough as a last resort.
