As mentioned in many of the various threads in these forums, when it comes to something simple like this, in your case a crown, never send back your watch to China, it will take months, so you should always try and source someone locally to fix it for you.
Interesting what you have been told about the BP ceramic inserts, I have seen people accidentally breaking them, so one would think they are not metal.
I purchased my first expensive gen whilst working in Switzerland, but ventured out to Lichtenstein, which is a very small country near Flumserberg. Many great shops there.
Not met Mike, but from chatting to him, and seeing him on the forums, I can tell he's a stand up fella, honest, and passionate about this hobby.
Glad things worked out well
I will be upgrading my account in the near future. Money is tied up right now, and we are feeling the pinch here too with the terrible economy, but I do plan on giving something back to this wonderful forum.

Thanks for the heads up on these issues, as you say, you found out the hard way, but at the same time, shared your experiences here with us all, which in turn helps, and saves us time from making the same mistakes, so thanks again. It's all a learning curve in this hobby, and helping each other in their quest to build their perfect watch is all part of the fun too.
