lol.
Yup, swear by mine, have two, the lever type, and the screw type. The latter I find useful for other things too such as bezel and insert refitting.
My reason for frankening, is that I absolutely love working with something that is imperfect, sourcing gen parts, and then rebuilding the watch to be near as damn perfect. I guess I have a passion for the hobby, as working with something so small, and intricate, I now have a understanding on the love, and passion that watchsmiths have in this hobby/profession.
This is so true, and can relate to it completely regarding my Carrera franken build, even though I have made a mistake of spending just under the price of a used gen of the same model. To me, its not the $, but I understand the advice above from tomhorn, and will factor this in with my next build.
Difficult to say on the second one without a better, close up photo of the balance wheel stamping. I can see what looks similar to an ETA logo, but without a better photo, unsure.
Welcome to RWG forums. Wow, member for over 5 years, and your first post is regarding a problem you have ? Thats a record, and looks like you have had a good run of positive experience with your reps.
As to your issue.
Got any photos you could share to highlight the problem.? I am guessing your stem is broken, which would leave a small bit in the crown, and the remainder in the movement.
Photos would help.
Where did you get your case back die set from? The one I got from AceTimer rocks, fits like a glove, no scratching. Its a Bergeon clone that I have, but quality is not cheap crap like the majority out there.
