  3. Welcome to the forums. So what is your story on how you come to find our forums being only a gen owner?
  4. Small lol Someone is being modest.
  5. Update: Got a second Carrera CV2A10 case with black bezel today from a great member over on RWI. It came complete, minus the crystal, which is perfect for what I wanted to check. I can now confirm that the black bezel 43mm Carrera is a different construction than that of the chromed bezel 43mm Carrera. The black bezel insert came out very easily, and is held in place with double sided thin sticky tape, and not snapped into position. Quite happy with this result, as now I know I can go ahead and replace the black insert on my franken with a genuine insert, although I will bond into place with either Hydro Cement of Gorilla Glue. I have confirmed dimensions from my genuine parts supplier of both the crystal, and bezel insert, and its good to go, so will be getting these gen parts soon. Seeing as the Gen case set is a little over $1k, I have enquired about getting just a gen case back. Both the first Carrera donor case, and this second one, even though both are stated on their case backs as CV2A10 Carrera models, I have to say, they looks very slightly different to my franken case. More noticeable in the lug areas, but very minor. On the donor cases, the lug profile is shorter, and not as wide as my franken. I will add photos showing this difference, and also some measurements once my digital calliper is fixed as I broke my lcd. Hope the above info is of some help to you should you be wanting to carry out any similar mods to your Carrera Thanks for reading, photos, and measurements to follow in the next update.

  7. He's not having much luck these days, but the risks are always there in this hobby. Just hope he don't throw the towel in after all this [censored], including losing his Paypal because of some idiot.
  8. Congrats on your new Gen. I'm guessing its the older Emergency which the transmitter no longer has support? Any photos? What advice do you seek? Authenticity?
  9. The cheap ones are fine, but you may find yourself having to buy extra dies for larger watches. I found with the cheapie I got the dies only went up to 40mm. I purchased an more expensive press in the end, which has dies up to 48mm.
  10. I have been pondering for quite sometime on whether or not to get this model Rolex, and over the period of time since coming back to the rep game, I have seen a slow improvement in these rep models, but as Mike correctly states, the movements used are not intended for the GMT functionality. This said, it's not going to put me off getting one, as I know there are solutions. One such solution is frankening, and of course getting an expert such as Mike to service, and mod the movement. Mod in this term, strip completely down, clean all internal parts, and reassemble in a clean, dirt, and dust free environment.
  11. Aha, I'm still learning about the many variations. Amazing really. Not me learning lol, the amount of different types available.
  12. Looks ok, the 6 has the correct amount of red inside, 60% red 40% blue. The font looks a little thin compared to this gen.. (But the one you posted is a flat 4).
  13. Welcome to the forums, wise words my friend, read plenty. Which gens do you own? We love eye candy here

  17. Noted Only on an ETA 7750 movement, or Asian 7750 Mike?
  18. Yes, great tip that, have used it in the past, and it works!
  19. If your carpet/floor has not been hoovered since you opened this up, you maybe able to find it using a light/torch, pointing the light almost horizontally, whilst on your hands and knees, if its there, you may see a small sparkle/reflection. This is what I resorted to when I have dropped a small part.
