Where are you located? I make click springs for this manual wind movement, its their weakest part.
Should you wish to go the new movement route, then you can get new Venus movements from alpha watch.

Op, what was the initial problem with the watch for you to open it up and remove the movement.? The keyless work sounds screwed up as suggested above, but knowing what else was wrong with it for you to open the watch up and take out the movement will help diagnose anything else.
Did you open/work on the watch is a dust, hair free environment?
